Built in 1591, the Tolbooth Tavern in Edinburgh was formerly part of the original Canongate Tolbooth. This medieval building was used to divide the Royal Burgh of Edinburgh and Canongate. It is a cosy traditional Scottish pub full of character and charm. The small exterior gives way to a spacious bar and mezzanine dining area. It boasts a fantastic spot along the Royal Mile. Serving hearty home-cooked Scottish fayre using locally sourced produce, we're sure to keep you full before a full day on the tourist trail, or join us for an evening exploring our fine whisky collection.House favourites include Cullen skink, Tolbooth burgers, freshly landed Scottish fish n chips and our Tolbooth steak & sausage pie.If you want to embrace dark history and immerse yourself in a spooky atmosphere, The Tolbooth Tavern is a must visit whilst in Edinburgh.Open daily from 11am for drinks. Our food menus are available from 12pm. Our light bites menu runs from 9:30pm April - October.

The Abbotsford serves wholesome pub food in one of the busiest parts of Edinburgh’s New Town.     Gentilezza, cortesia e disponibilità ci hanno fatto capire che eravamo nel posto giusto. Robert ci ha trovato un tavolo anche se la prenotazione era per due invece eravamo in quattro. Cibo eccellente. sia la carne che le ostriche. Locale carino. Servizio perfetto. lo consigliamo sicuramente e se ci sarà occasione, torneremo.

    Locale curato sulla bellissima Royal Mile in pieno centro ad Edinburgh. Cibo di qualità, ma trovo i prezzi alti rispetto. Personale molto gentile e preparato.

    Adoro tornare a Edimburgo perché c'è sempre un pub o un ristorante da provare e soprattutto scovare Il Cafe Royal è stato uno di questi Un posto elegante e ricco di storia, con una cucina raffinata e la materia prima di qualità eccellente Il personale serio e competente, l'atmosfera unica Insomma una vera e propria esperienza da rifare assolutamente
