The pub is set in the beautiful Kentish Countryside with open log fires and a fantastic beer garden, where you can unwind and enjoy one of our selection of well kept cask ales or something from our extensive wine list.Our menu offers simple hearty British Gastro food and we pride ourselves on sourcing the finest local produce from local suppliers. We serve food all day at The Little Brown Jug so you can choose to have a late lunch or early dinner during the summer, even breakfast over the weekends whilst you enjoy the warm, relaxed and informal atmosphere. We do run reduced hours during the winters months so please check our website. We have made fantastic additions to are garden area with extra Tiki huts and a beautiful covered patio area. You can let the train take the strain as Penshurst train station is directly across the road from the pub.

The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport. The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis. We welcome children over the age of 7. Open Tuesday to Sunday with food served all day from noon.We now have 3 Giant heated Tipis, they provide lots of fresh air and a lovely open environment, they are also heated.Formerly an 18th Century farmhouse boasting exposed beams, oak floors, exposed brickwork and oak tables. This leads to a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere with candle lit tables and real flame stoves.The cuisine is typically modern European, classically cooked using cornerstones such as stock pots to create their sauces with a brigade that has a passion for what they do. We went for the bottomless lasagne and we were not disappointed! It was delicious and the whole experience was great , the restaurant was nice and busy too. Drinks were great and we loved that the £5 negroni before our meal.

My Wife and I went to The Moody Mare in Wrotham yesterday for the first time. The food and service were exceptional. One of the best Gastro Pub meals we’ve had. Proper size portions. Even the music that was playing was brilliant. We would certainly recommend this Gastro Pub & we’re definitely coming back.

Lovely Fish & chips, dessert was nice but not as good as expected. The cost was high priced but still good value
