We had an amazing time. Hostess (nice lady with an 8mo old baby,; we brought ours ; ) and waitress Erica were both very attentive!! They made our day!
The service was wonderful
The food, not so much
It gave me the impression that the head chef with off because everything was not up to par
The halibut tastes burnt
My sons chicken on his salad had the same burnt taste
The duck was fatty
The salmon was dry
The shrimp cocktail was watery
All in all a very disappointing food experience
The only good thing was the waiter and his attention to service
This was the 2nd dinner at the Winery for our 3 couple group. The past visit in December was excellent. This time was not a satisfying dinner. The waiter was not present nor engaged with our group. We felt dismissed and thus we will no longer return to the winery nor will recommend the restaurant to our friends and network.
The wedge salad arrived as a chopped salad, no bread or butter was served or offered. A request for pepper was acknowledged as a certainly, but it never came. The filet was ordered medium and came rather rare in the center, a callout I specifically did not want. To thrive a waiter must engage and be present and follow through, rather this waiter seemed overwhelmed and not really into his work.
Went for my wife's birthday, our Open Table reservation had a quiet booth ready for us. Our server, Brittney, was very attentive and offered good suggestions for us. We loved the pork belly lollipop appetizers, wife had salmon, I had Mahi Mahi. Was a lot of food, and we ended up taking some home. Great experience, we'll be back again.
My daughter and I had a very nice booth enjoying a quiet evening. Our server David was excellent!
Terrific, top to bottom. Excellent evening. Could not have been better.
The food was awful for steakhouse prices. The charcuterie platter was made of really cheap cheese and 3 salami. Trader Joe’s has better choices. Definitely not worth for $22. Mains - all items, (veal & rack of lamb) were prepared from the same teriyaki esc sauce. It was terrible. The creme brûlée did not even have vanilla bean in it. It was just a custard. Best part of the meal was the table bread.
Wonderful atmosphere; attentive and professional service; outstanding wine line ....and overall experience and personal attention of William, et.al., most engaging and refreshing. Could NOT have been more enjoyable for our party of 10, celebrating my wife's 73 birthday!!
We loved to have dinner @the winery. The staff was amazing courteous and very efficient.
The hostess told us that no table was available. After seeing many empty tables I went on open table to see and it was wide open. Got a reservation and was seated minutes later. If you are told they don’t have a table check here first because the hostess doesn’t seem interested in doing her job.
Amazing experience every time! Thank you William and Lou!!
I took a friend here as a special dinner for a Christmas celebration. Everything was wonderful. I only comment that the noise level was quite elevated... Could have been due to all of the large parties for the holiday. Not as unbearable as the Newport location.
the bottle of wine was not in stock and at 530pm (early) they did not have the pork chops avail (no mention from the waitress) - the Fish was not hot ...the rest of the food was good (not great )
the service was excellent and they comped us something because of wine/pork chop
We made our dinner reservation at 8pm on Saturday night. Got there early and waited and waited until we got seated by 8:35. We only heard a shy apology from the receptionist. None of the parading managers who we saw there dressed in their suites bothered to themselves to come over to extend word of explanation or apology; I guess maybe because I happen to be casually dressed for that night and was take for granted. Though I spent about $181.00 for a party of two. The service was super slow, and our main course took 20 minutes to arrive . And it was a simple steak and their daily special of sea bass.
It's a shame that such a restaurant with great foods, ambiance and location practice this kind of disrespect with their substandard of service, and lack of attention to their paid customers.
Will never bother to go back again and will spread the word about our poor experience.
Wonderful experience! Tried the crab cake appetizer (first time) and it was so FULL of crab (very little filler) -- light and luscious. Hubby had the heirloom tomatoes (one of his favorites). His New York strip steak was cooked to a perfect Medium -- warm and pink inside with a nice crust on the outside. Sides of baked potato (huge!) and grilled asparagus with Hollandaise rounded out a terrific meal. We both had red wine by the glass (Chateau La Nerthe, "Les Cassagnes", Cotes du Rhone, France, 2016) -- smooth, medium-bodied and delicious with steak. Our server (Sheila) was knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks, Winery, for a super special dinner. See you next time...
Excellent wine list and great food. Our server was wonderful.
The food and service was great as usually. The venison special was phenomenal!
William and Crystal were awesome in accommodating our group in the cigar patio after dinner.
Keep up the awesome work!
The Winery Restaurant is quickly becoming a favorite - for both business and personal occasions. The only issue we experienced yesterday was an improperly cooked fish meal for one of my guests. But, the manager offered to bring another plate and the bill was adjusted to compensate. Thank you!
Food was ok. Steak was not really flavorful
The Chilean Sea Bass was not as buttery or rich as I am used to having.
Outstanding service from Cameron and the food was excellent.
Great service, our waitress was great.. Delicious food, great wine and wonderful desert.. also very nice ambience..
I have use open table many times and this is far one of the finest restaurants we have dined at and will definitely make it our favorite!
Service slow and non-attentive. Food extremely bland. $50 bass over done with no flavor and lukewarm half cooked risotto. Filet came out incorrect and had to be sent back. Best part was Xmas decor and whipped butter and that about it. For the price i feel like i was stolen from.
Our server Collin was awesome!!! There was a problem when first being seated because we thought the reservation was for Happy Hour in the bar area. Hostess said that was an error on the OpenTable sight. You may want to fix that.
Celebrated my birthday here. Incredible service. Delicious scallops. Great company. Loved it.
The service and food was outstanding.
We had an excellent Thanksgiving meal at The Winery in Tustin. Traditional helpings of turkey, sweet potato, green beans, mashed potatoes and stuffing. The food was excellent although I am not a big fan of processed turkey breast. Always an excellent bottle of wine can be found on their wine list and that night was no exception. The Caymus 2015 presented very well and went wonderfully with our Thanksgiving meal. Ambiance, service and attention to detail is always a plus at The Winery.
Mama decided to strike on Thanksgiving and not cook, so we came to The Winery Tustin knowing we would have fabulous wine, well-prepared food, and modern ambience. Check their 'event' box, or sign up for special dinners with wine pairings. This is how we were able to see what was being offered for Thanksgiving. We've never been disappointed. The restaurant is always lively and a place to people-watch while having a cocktail and apps, or a break between courses. Ask if there is seating at the chef's table for an extra treat- watching the dishes being prepared and picked up by the waitstaff! What a rhythm between chef, the cooking line, and the waiters. Food is served at the perfect temperature and portions are just right! They do not have a gluten-free menu, but can accomodate by modifying where possible. Just ask, but best to note it ahead of time when placing your rez. I did and the waiter was prepared to tell me what was available for my restriction. I ordered scallops and shrimp and was NOT disappointed. Rich. tender. Luscious! Hubby had traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Well seasoned, not salty, and nice portions. Salad was dressed well without being gloppy; soup was just the right temperature and flavorful. Everything was FRESH! Desserts are beautifully plated, not too sweet or frilly. They will gladly pack leftovers to enjoy later. This resto is known for their extensive wine list, and the house wine was really good! They will pair wine for your table and provide suggestions if you are interested. If you are a smoker, there is a cigar patio where you can go smoke and return to the table. We self-parked, but valet is offered. The parking lot can be congested during after work or dinner hours, so you may want to valet if you don't want to park on the far end of the shopping center lot. You will work up an appetite! Drivers do not look for pedestrians in this center. Business casual to dressy. Can accomodate well-behaved kids.
Had Thanksgiving Dinner there. It was wonderful--great menu choices and the food was terrific; the service was excellent. Would definitely have dinner there again.
Food was excellent, great service!!! Will definitely visit again when in the area
William and staff are always great. Love this place
The Winery at Tustin continues to prepare fabulous food, offer tremendous service, and provide a delightful environment. Staff is attentive and professional -- you will not be disappointed!!
I have been to the Winery restaurant location in NB many times and really enjoyed it, especially the wine.
My sweetheart and I came for happy hour at 6pm with an opentable reservation at 5:45pm and opted to go for the happy hour menu since we had a movie at 7pm and thought that we would not have time to do an entire meal in 1 hour.
The general manager Rochelle Segobia informed us right away at the entrance that she would need to cancel the opentable reservation since we were going to be seated in the lounge area, which I found unusual since it is the first time that a restaurant had this policy. We ended up ordering wine from the happy hour menu and 2 entrees (mussels and mahi mahi) from the regular menu for a total of $75. An additional glass of wine was added by mistake and I asked the waitress to remove it: the new check was given to us by 6:55pm. I then told the waitress that I had a $25 credit from OpenTable, which did not go through since the GM had canceled our reservation. I explained that to her and had to argue and wait for another 30 minutes to have it resolved. We missed the movie and we left very unhappy about our experience with no intention of coming back. This is very disappointing, especially when it comes from a GM!
Stephane, To clarify, immediately upon check-in you informed us that you would be joining us for happy hour instead. I actually confirmed with you directly to avoid any issues. Once resolved, I was extremely apologetic for the delay, as this was an unforeseen obstacle and communicated each step. My business card and contact information to be of better service. Not to be portrayed as if we didn’t take action to fix this issue. Thank you for giving us a try. Rochelle Segobia General Manager
We reserved a table at 6:45 pm, which should be the busiest timing of restaurants. Maybe because of that, the waiters and waitresses were all in a rush, the steaks were burnt on the surfaces. They did not give us salt and pepper until we asked. The interior parts of the steaks were okay. The pizza appetizer was delicious, a combination of crispy taste and creamy sauce. Price was higher than a steakhouse. If you want steaks, go to other steakhouses.
I went with my boyfriend and it was our first time going. It is now our favorite restaurant. We loved everything about it... the ambiance, the food and the attentiveness of all the staff there. I believe two of the owner's were there as well. They came over and spoke to us. They also allowed us to park in their parking space. LOL!
All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our respective meals! The service was outstanding, the food excellent - we will definitely dine there again!
The Winery Restaurant &Wine Bar-Tustin is one of my favorite places to come and enjoy an amazing meal and relish in the stimulating atmosphere. I have never been disappointed.
Food was good but what topped it off was the service from everyone. Never once did we have to fill our wine glass or ask for anything. They were all on the ball and we will be going back soon.
All phases of our most recent dining experience at the Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar were exemplary. We have dined at this establishment more than a few times, and each experience has been more gratifying than during previous visits. Both the food and service were top-notch as expected. We have been following the career of Yvon Goetz for over 25 years, and he still never fails to deliver outstanding cuisine. Once again, we look forward to our next visit. Thanks to the entire team for a flawless dining experience!
