The Vineyard Wine Bar is an absolute gem in downtown Havre de Grace. The food is top notch and the wine selection is superb. I highly recommend making a reservation and enjoying a wonderful evening.
I’ll start by saying the food does not disappoint. However seating at my last two visits was very disappointing 🙁. Both times the reservations were made weeks in advance. One visit had three of us sitting at a high top table made for two. (And, I had specified in my reservation request to sit in their back wine room - didn’t happen ). When I asked if we could be switched to one of the larger 4 top tables I was told they were reserved. Then last evening my friend (both of us female) had a reservation made a month in advance, and were seated at a 2 top at the VERY front by the door. There were plenty of other tables available - mostly 4 tops - and these were then given to couples. Of course those were all “reserved” as well! Not sure I’ll go back again.
I was very disappointed with the food. I went 3 years ago and it was wonderful. However, this time did not meet my expectations. The baked brie appetizer was still cold on the inside. The filet was very fatty. I'm hoping this was a isolated situation and they are not going down hill.
That was our first time there and it exceeded all our expectations! We will definitely be going back again!
Great wine. Amazing soup. Entree came and it was small. Like smaller than an appetizer size. I specifically ordered an “entree” because I knew portions were small but it was definitely not an entree. It was 2 lamb chops with about 1.5oz. So total of approx 3 ounces Of meat, smallest lamb chops i have ever seen in my life. With 4 green beans and a smear of mashed potato. The flavor was good but nothing special. it wasn’t worth $24. Maybe $12. They should take the word “entree” off their menu. All plates are bite sized. A person would need to order 2-3 entrees from there to have a meal. I went home hungry. But great wines. I bought 2 bottles to take home. And really enjoyed the ambiance and the service.
Good food and a nice bottle of Italian wine this day for lunch.
I was last there pre-covid. They haven't missed a beat. Would definitely return.
There are so few places like The Vineyard and every visit is enjoyable. Yes, the wine selection is extraordinary. But it is the "other parts" that make our visits lead to another and another. Regardless of the menu (which has just been updated), whatever you choose will be flavorful and served with care. We are especially pleased with small plate offerings and choose to start with the cheese and meat selections. The staff are attentive and responsive, the owners focused on making your experience satisfying.
Service is so friendly, noise level is very low so you can actually talk. Food is excellent and you’re never rushed. One of my favorite spots to enjoy good food and tasty wine.
The Vineyard never disappoints. We’ve been there many times and are always wowed by the food and the wine list. Last night we celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary there and were treated to glasses of Spanish Cava at the end of our delicious meal of salads and artfully seasoned steaks. Love this restaurant!
This is a hidden gem don’t miss a chance to enjoy
Fantastic new fall menu! Love it
The Vineyard Wine Bar in Havre de Grace, MD is a great place to relax and enjoy good food and great wine. This was our first visit and we were very impressed. Our servers were well versed in the wine selections and made great recommendations. The fact that you can have a 3 oz. pour of any of their wines made it so easy to sample different tastes and pair with food accordingly. Easy to get to, easy to park, looking forward to our next visit.
We were heading south and decided to stay in Aberdeen for the night. Checked Open Table for a place to dine as I always trust their reviews. The Vineyard Wine Bar came up. What a gem! Great food, great wine list (connected to a wine store - you can order any wine on the list - about 100 - by the bottle or glass) great service and great ambiance. I wish I lived closer as it would definitely be on my go to list.
Love! Great service, knowledgable staff, and the food is delish!
Awesome service from Angie. Wonderful food and wine selections. Great atmosphere. Friendly conversation all around. Definitely a go to place You must make reservations. The place was packed come 6:00 but service never suffered. Food was delicious and perfectly spaced between courses.
Great wine selection. Knowledgeable servers Good food selections. Great location. Met family members who were tied up in traffic and staff were very accommodating. Would recommend for a nice evening out.
Love this place! It’s like the trifecta - “grape” wine, superb food, and top-notch service! And, a great wine list that you can purchase from their retail shop at very good prices. I almost want to keep this place a secret! PS Mr. Blanc is a terrific wine on the beach!
Love this restaurant. The food is wonderful and the wine by the glass selection can't be beat anywhere.
Food is always fabulous. Angie was wonderful and provided excellent food recommendations and helped us select wine from the retail shop on the way out. Excellent choices, too!
Another great experience. We have literally tried every item on the menu and although the meal was good last night, it wasn’t my cup of tea. This doesn’t take away from the fact that our recommendations is close to 5 stars. We’ve become a “regular” dinner there and would highly recommend the place every day! Thanks for another nice evening
Fantastic food. Great tapas dishes. We order a whole bunch and share. Everyone we’ve brought there just raves about the food.
My guest and I arrived for our 5pm reservation and as we were seated our server told us that we had to be finished by 7pm as another reservation was scheduled at that time. I've never had anyone say that to me. So, at 630 with one bite left of food on our plates, she again reminded us that we had to be out by 7pm. We had 5 Tapas entrees and 4 glasses of wine for a $136 bill. For this type of restaurant and the kind of fare they charge, this was completely unacceptable! This is not the servers fault, its the owners fault who told their staff to do this.
The Vineyard Wine Bar is great for a girls night, or date night, but make a reservation because this place stays full! The food is delicious, and the staff are knowledgeable about pairing. Try the mushroom tart, it is delicious!
Always fabulous at the Vineyard Wine Bar.
The food is great, the atmosphere and staff were great. Only one small problem, the food was so good wish I had a bigger potion. Overall A+
Celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary at Vineyard Wine Bar was a wonderful choice. The food, service, and champagne were all wonderful. But, even more special was the joining of our celebration by the other diners, one of which paid for our champagne without informing us, and instructing the waitress to not let us know until they had left! We had quite a memorable experience.
Amazing experience and a lot of fun!
This was our first time there. Really liked the wine selection and appreciate the 3oz pour. Allowed me to have a different wine with each course. Service was excellent and she was very knowledgeable about the wines. Food was very good and fit my foodie taste. Definitely plan to go back, but reservations are a must. Saw several walk ups turned away because they were booked for the night.
Outstanding service! Outstanding food! Outstanding wine! My new favorite place.
Another great yummy visit. One tip: when you know it’s someone’s birthday at the table, don’t be such so snooty - at least say “happy birthday”! We don’t want “free stuff or some bs song sang” …. Just a happy birthday would be nice. Other than that, a great place (so not really a dog especially with the five stars I’m giving). We can’t say “fantastic” all the time (although you mostly are)!
We so enjoyed the wine, food and service. What a great neighborhood restaurant and also perfect for travelers.
Great food, extensive wine list and a friendly, knowledgeable staff.
2nd wk in a roll coming here. First experience was a knock out - that good! 2nd experience was a bit difference. We realize we are “new” & this is mostly a local hang out. As we were leaving, the owner, whom we’ve seen earlier going around saying “hello” & chit chatting with his regulars (which you’d expect), completely skipped us & even gave us a bit of a “stink-eye” (likely unintentionally) but as we were leaving after such a good meal, we said “thank you & we’ll be back” as we passed him out the door. He replies back, “whatever”???!!! REALLY? That’s your response??! We’ve spent over 300$ in two visits & that’s your response? How quickly you’ve forgotten just a few wks ago you were struggling. When the “rush” to go out dies down, it’s the customer, the ones who give you praise, that ensures your survival. You already have a bit of a reputation of a bit of a snob’ism attitude (from your same local customers). If you’re gonna do so, don’t try to be European about it, learn from them. They do it in a way that keeps you coming back! You did it basically because you “think” your one. Trust me, not even close! Will give it one more try in a few wks - everyone, especially business owners, have a bad day (but you weren’t obviously). See you soon (although you wouldn’t know who we are)
I had the tuna very rare. Never had tuna prepared like that and I’ll never have it any other way from now on. Most exceptional. I’ve always had filet mignon very rare and now my tuna will likewise be rare from here on out.
Fantastic food. Love the tapas style
We went to The Vineyard for dinner during a low-key bachelorette party and it was perfect! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food and wines were fantastic! We would absolutely go back again!
Best au poivre ever!:service was awesome, vine was supurb!
Can’t say enough! We saved the best for last, that’s for sure. Moved to the historic district a month ago and have tried every establishment with food. Some places, horrible! Others, good enough but nothing to write about. This place, a home run! Although a bit pricey, if the food and service is excellent, we don’t mind one bit. It was beyond that and I would’ve spent double for the exact same amount …. It was that good!
Love this restaurant. It's a nice quiet place to get a drink and great food, even on weekends. Staff is very knowledgeable of the extensive wine list and had great food recommendations.
