Our server was Sarah B and we have allergies so we are not an easy table. She brought out something I knew I couldnt eat and she was super honest that she wasnt entirely versed on gluten free and had the entire plate remade. She went above and beyond to be helpful and we couldnt have been more pleased with the service
The service as absolutely horrific. I usually dine at the Melting Pot in Fredericksburg bc the service is exceptional. The Reston location is closer to my house, so it’s unfortunate that i will have to make the drive to Fredericksburg next time. The Reston location has better dippers from the fresher bread, the tortilla chips and they serve my favorite.. cauliflower that Fredericksburg doesn’t serve.
But after a horrible experience this past weekend for a friend’s birthday, I won’t be returning! I only gave a great tip bc I feel bad for the restaurant industry, not bc the service deserved it.
A slow Wednesday night, in mid winter, during a pandemic. Not crowded. Friendly service and good food. Interesting dynamic that should be lots of fun for gatherings (when we can do that again).
We have a wonderful birthday celebration and excellent server.
Overall, the service from our waiter, Iman, was excellent. The hostess gave some pushback when we didn’t want to be seated in a booth right next to another family, which we found odd. The food was okay, more in line with a French cuisine. Overall, it’s an experience, which we were glad to enjoy but we won’t do again.

Staff work very hard and they were great. With all obstacures in place they did an outstanding job. They were overwelmed with grab and go but rolled Keep up the great work
The waitress didn’t offer child menu for NYE prefix until I inquired during our meal. $88 prefix for child is ridiculous, she should have asked us at the beginning of our meal. Additionally waitress Sammy brought us a ‘complimentary’ champagne toast for 2 adults and a Shirley Temple drink for our daughter however we were charged on our meal ticket ($15). Sammy did adjust the prefix price to child ($25) after my further discussion. Appreciated but I had to suggest. Charging for complimentary toast was further disappointment. Overall Disappointing experience for our family NYE experience!!
NYE at the Melting Pot was a chaotic mess we will never forget. Our OpenTable profile tells the people at the front that we've been coming there since the dawn of time, but when we walked in, we waited for 10 mins even though the entire section we were being brought to was empty. When we were seated, we were told they were only offering prix fixe. What? It didn't say that on either their website or on OpenTable. $88 pp for a mix of meat and seafood. Well, we don't eat meat & we always only get cheese. We weren't paying $88 for cheese so we asked for the manager. 20 minutes later, the manager comes by. He says it was on OpenTable. I show him the screenshot I took of the pages when I booked it, which I always do when a reservation requires my credit card. He admits it says nothing about prix fixe. He says - and get this - this 12 year old in a Gucci belt tells us that he will "let us get cheese but he can't go any further." What does that mean? Apparently that means we were not *allowed* to get a salad or dessert. On NYE. We are stuck with this bc they have our credit card. Unreal. OK, fine. So, now we've been there 30 mins & still haven't even been able to order a drink. That's when our new server comes over & tells us that they were arguing in the back about not wanting our table because it was "just cheese," but that she, a hero, bravely took our table. She says she will treat us like anyone else. Wow. So, we say, "cheese for 4 & lots of pretzel bread, pls & a yin yang martini ($11.95 on the menu)" We get 2 pieces each of stale pretzel bread & the worst pot of fondue we've had since we started going here. I ask again for pretzel bread. She forgets she forgot. Says she'll get it. Never does. Doesn't offer us another drink. Just leaves us there til it's time for the check, where they charge us $12.95 for our drink. We planned to tip ~80% to make a point but in the end, 25%. She didn't treat us "like everyone else." Appalling experience. Barry, what is going on there?
We love coming here for the interactive fondue. Great fun for our family. A Christmas Eve tradition.
During this time of mitigation’s and restrictions, Melting Pot is doing a great job! The service hasn’t suffered.

A very nice evening out with our daughter with the help of our waiter Kevin. He was energetic, knowledgable, and helpful as we worked our way through the menu options and enjoyed our meals.
We found the entrance a bit congested when we arrived but having a reservation allowed us to move beyond the small crowd to a private booth where we were much more comfortable with the social spacing and had an excellent meal. I recommend getting a reservation instead of standing shoulder to shoulder waiting for a table.

Fun and interactive dinner. Food was good and sauces were delicious. Waitress was new but was trying hard and was sweet.
This review is actually for a different reservation that was under my husbands account. We took my daughter there for her 15th birthday with friends. There was 9 of them. My husband and I were done with our meals and they hadn’t even started the dinner portion of their meal.
The entire meal for 9 girls took 3 hours and 45 minutes! For the amount of money we spent, we could have taken them to Morton’s.
My daughter goes here every year for her birthday. We will not be back
We haven't been for a while, but several times in the past, and noticed a few places in food selection, content, and volume where they appear to be trying to reduce their costs, but of course not reduced to the diners. Otherwise, an excellent experience as always. I'm sure we'll be back.
We went here for our anniversary and were excited, but had an experience that we aren’t eager to have again. Our reservation was for 7:15, and if we had eaten all 4 courses of our meal there (ie if we hadn’t asked for our dessert fondue to-go) we wouldn’t have left until 10. It was our first time there, and our waitress Latifah was not eager to explain the process to us, so there was a lot of confusion when it came time to order. We got the “Big Night Out” and hadn’t expected to have to cook our food (again, partially because Latifah hadn’t bothered to explain), so it ended up being more work than we’d thought we signed up for...if we’d known we would have had to cook our own food, we could certainly have stayed home. Also, as newbies, we were not waited on nearly as frequently as we would’ve liked. Unless you have the time to spare or are looking for a DIY cooking restaurant experience, I don’t recommend this restaurant for a relaxing night out—especially after a full day of work. Latifah did redeem herself slightly by bringing us champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our occasion, but by that time we were so ready to go that we couldn’t thoroughly enjoy it.
Amazing service and great food!
The restaurant was not empty but not full. Erin was great - engaging, knowledgeable, on top of things. She brought refills at the right time but was not intrusive. She made dessert better than what I was thinking with her suggestion.
They have a wonder Thursdate night setup. Wonderful and enjoyable with great service and was a wonderful surprise for the wifie
First time. Will return to try chocolate fondue next time!

My first experience there, my wife and I had an amazing time and our waitress was very helpful with suggestions and keeping our table attended to.
Service was great, the food was mediocre at best. The cheese in the fondue was ok but the bread and veggies they give you are very low quality. The vegetables were like kitchen scraps and the bread tasted like it was purchased at Safeway. The main course was good and an entertaining way to spend the evening. Desert was also ok if not overly sweet. This feels like a place that used to be very special but has been diluted by over expansion and corporate greed.
Great experience for the family. Unlimited entrée was more than enough food, good value.

I had my birthday celebration here and the food was very good and the waiter was so nice and funny
Despite reservations, we were made to wait while the hostess stand figured out where to put us. It took at least 10 minutes to get our drink order started. The first course was prompt, the second dragged and at that point, I hadn’t seen the waiter in over 40 minutes. We were in the restaurant over 2 hours, which is ridiculous. The food quality was good though.
Excellent Melting Pot experience for a party of 5 in celebration of our client's home sale! We enjoyed three courses on the Restaurant Week Menu along with two bottles of Tribute, a California Cabernet, to complete the wine pairing. Our first course was two cheese options of which we selected Wisconsin Cheddar, and Bacon Brie. The Bacon Brie was the favorite of the table. Second course, salad of choice, which everyone enjoyed their own selection. The third course of meat, seafood, and vegetables was enhanced by the Fondue Cooking Styles of Court Bouillon - seasoned vegetable broth, and Coq Au Vin - Burgundy wine, mushrooms, scallions, garlic.
One of my personal favorites was the wild mushroom sacchetti. The three courses completed the evening as we did not have room for dessert. Our server, Cameron, was very attentive to our tables needs!! The Melting Pot is always a fun, interactive evening of great food, wine, conversation, and laughter.
First time trying this place. Make sure you got time for a long meal, didn't realize the process took us 3 hours. Note not saying service was slow or anything, the experience was just this long. Service was great! Our server was attentive, made good recommendations. All the flavors for the 4 cheeses was great, chocolate caramel fondue had a good taste, the entree - meats was also good, recommend the Caribbean/mojo flavoring. Definitely a steal for restaurant week being only $22 lunch for 3 course, $5 for chocolate. But what really wow'ed me was the wine flight. It was $18 and I got 4 glasses from white, rose, to 2 reds for each course (cheese, salad, entree/meat, and dessert).
