Restaurant Story London
Amazing experience. Food was incredible, and the attention to detail was amazing. Staff very friendly, attentive and clearly enjoy where they work.
The occasion for the night was a birthday for the lady. The food and dining experience was somewhat unique and pleasurable. However, as it was a celebration for a birthday, I feel that the restaurant, having obtained a Michelin star, did not live up to its standards and my expectations. Most restaurants, whether it be fine dining or Michelin would provide a minor celebratory gift and cake for the host. Restaurant Story failed in this area and hence why we were fairly disappointed by the end of our dining experience. All that was given was a birthday letter with no celebration, this was one of the reasons we came out for dinner. Slightly appalled, I expect more from a Michelin restaurant.
Great service but food just lacking. No real standout courses or flavours and a chef patron giving his kitchen team a bollocking as we walked in. The lights kept going out too.Not a good look.
Great and innovative cocktails and again really friendly service.
Restaurant story is a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in the door we felt special and indulged. It was easy to get as excited about each dish and drink as the team who delivered them to our table and described the passion and ingredients involved. Loved it
The wonderful and spectacular spot in London. Creative and perfect in every direction!!!
I had been to Story 4 or 5 times before they refurbished but not after. I was quite keen to try the new tasting menu. It did not disappoint. Tom Sellers has taken this tasting menu to the next level. Absolutely phenomenal. Can't wait to go again soon.
Absolutely magical!!
It lived up to my very high expectations. Each course more beautiful than the last. Exquisite service. A dream;))
A sensational evening full of intrigue and adventure.
This evening is a great experience. Having many courses, not knowing what comes next, all interesting and delicious was fabulous. We were there for over four hours and it flew by.
Celebrating my birthday with a friend, and thoroughly enjoyed the dinner experience. The presentation of the food, and the staff was excellent.
Outstanding restaurant and attention to detail is superb! We had the 11 course taster menu in December and wow! Very clever and innovative ideas. I didn’t like 1 or 2 of the dishes but that’s just my own personal taste, it was like culinary theatre and if you are impressed by that then you must experience it!
This is a place for a special meal; where every immaculate, flavourful dish has a story of origin based on the chef’s memories; every plate is custom made for the food being served; every piece of art explores an aspect of storytelling; every member of staff is precise, responsive and warm. And where you get a custom mixed bourbon shot to take home with you to continue the Story.
Had a fantastic Birthday dinner, the menu and food was incredible definately in the Top 3 places we have ever eaten.
Love the restaurant, now an annual tradition to go for a Birthday treat, every course is a delight.....and thank you for the bread rolls!
World class from start to finish - a really special evening. Thanks to everyone there
whats the story, former glory.
Not quite the same story as before. Great food, but just not as great as the previous times.
Loved the experience, 3rd visit, great new decor etc.
Everything is faultless
An excellent restaurant with a very good wine list.
Fun, creative and delicious. Attentive yet unobtrusive staff
Excellent wine suggestions
Some exceptional dishes, some perhaps less inspiring, overall very good food, but service lacked attention to detail.
first visit to Restaurant Story and we were not disappointed. Service was friendly but intrusive. every course was outstanding.
Awesome evening. Fantastic food, with an excellent drinks pairing. I loved the tasting menu and appreciated the knowledgable staff who clearly really enjoy and are proud of their restaurant and what they offer.
Loved the personalised letter for my husbands birthday. However, was served oysters even though I specified multiple times that I have an allergy.
A birthday treat for me with my family was made extra special by a very welcome, helpful, and warm front of house team. The food was amazing and some of the best we have eaten in London. The restaurant decor was smart, contemporary and fun. We chose the wine pairings and our sommelier deserves a special mention for her knowledge, humour, and time taken with us. As was expected, it was not a cheap meal out and with additional drinks and extra courses, ended being an average of nearly £300 per person, but worth it for the experience!
Great place and great food and service and very happy about coffee.
A wonderful, intimate venue - perfect for a special date or a small group of friends. The service was amazing!
Excellent food - wine flight perfectly matched only downside was that we decided to share the truffle and celeriac dish rather than have one each dumb choice
Amazing evening.
Amazing food, well priced for lunch
The best tasting menu on both sides off the Atlantic.
The 8 course tasting menu was spectacular and the accompanying drinks parings per course was very adventurous with a mixture of cocktails and exclusive wines.
Twice as better than 11 Madison in New York and much better value for the money at a lower cost.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
A superb restaurant in every way. While attempting to "rank" Michelin star restaurants in London is a subjective exercise, Restaurant Story is clearly among the best and a must to be experienced. It's not just one "signature dish" surrounded by a few good ones; it's eleven courses all tremendously great on their own. A very inventive menu with an excellent complement of cocktails/wines.
The service team is quite knowledgeable, friendly and the perfect amount of attention.
Tom Sellers and team has most nailed it!
Excellent meal and service from the staff at the restaurant and starting with champagne.
Tom and his team creative ways of using wholesome ingredients, combining and translating them into beautiful masterpieces. A tantalising food journey. Not forgetting the plating used- love it!
The restaurant should get michelin two stars at least. The chef is good at control the flavour. I strongly reccomend everyone to have a good dinner in this restaurant.
great food, very friendly service, overall a recommended experience
Decadence! Wonderful decadence! I went to the previous incarnation of Story and loved it but now I think it is even better although they have retained some of the classic features like the beef fat candle but that is now tempered with a tapenade to cut through the fatness and make it more delicious. Service was on point. My only complaint was that the wine pairing is off-puttingly expensive especially when there are very decent wines on the menu for £40-£60 a bottle, our recommended red was sublime. Try the dessert wine, something different and special
Good but was not amazing ... I spent £500 on tasting menus and one wine paring. I felt that a lot effort went on what each dish looks like, rather than focus on the flavors. The signature dish was creative, but not tasty at whole, a wow by visual but a Erm by taste. Most of the dishes was pretentious, rather than focus on the texture, flavors and wholesomeness. I was expecting a lot more, but was no where matching my expectations. There are much better taster whole hearted food in London. Sorry would not recommend, unless you have no where better to spend your money on.
Chanced upon this restaurant when searching up Michelin Star spots in London and quickly grabbed a lunch booking. Was met with great service the moment you walked into the restaurant and we were quickly seated and attended to from apertiv to choosing our tasting courses. They offered a 5 and 8 course tasting menu of which you were meant to be surprised with no actual menu / ingredients to choose from.
Absolutely loved each dish that came (will keep the surprise going) and I have to say that the dishes were innovative and fun to eat with textures on each and every plate.
Definitely a big recommendation from me and lovely front of the house as well!
Amazing Food, really bad wine accompaniment (only 2 of 9 matching), chaotic and impersonal service. This was far away from a Michelin-Star.
A poor one Michelin starred restaurant.
The food was bland and the service was sterile.
