Lovely patio seating available and the food tasted fresh and light. All plastic silverware was offered with paper wrapped tables. Overall, a good experience.
This was our first time to this location and yes I know there is a pandemic going on and I know we can only be seated outside but everything they served us with was plastic, from the plates and spoons to the drinking glasses and the serving dishes, everything...The waiter just came over and wadded up our paper tablecovering and every dish on it and tossed it in the garbage. Such a colossal waste. I have frequented other restaurants during this time and they use actual dishes and real glass water cups. It was just off putting to me. Also about 15 minutes after we ordered the waiter brings us part of our order and proceeds to tell us they ran out of the other item and that the chef would have to make it from scratch. What could we say my item had already been brought to the table, so my husband and I had to share one dish between us. Poor communication, on the other hand the one dish we received was tasty.
Thank you so much for an amazing service
I love this place - one of my favorite local spots.
The food is fresh and delicious!
Still thinking about our lunch six days later.
My girlfriends and I went to try this restaurant during OC restaurant week. The food and drinks were very tasty. The waiter was very attentive. And the owner stopped by and said hello to us. Will come back later to try other dishes.
excellent restaurant. traditional Indian food with a different awesome twist.
Will definitely return and recommend!
Went there with coworkers for lunch during OC restaurant week. Dishes were very tasty and exceeded our expectation. The spicy chicken tikka was very tender and fried potato patties were done perfectly with excellent crispy texture. My curry fish was very good too but definitely on the spicy side which will need rice to accompany it. All in all, I would recommend the restaurant and look forward to my next dining there.
Awesome food and ambience
Food was delicious. Some dishes are on the spicier side but still enjoyable. Service was great!
Disappointing. Either the waitress or the kitchen must have lost the order for our mains, as they were delayed over an hour. The starters were delicious but very frustrating to have no mains. People at both of the tables next to us sat down after us (at least one had a starter course), and both were finished with their mains when we finally told our waitress to cancel the mains and give us the check as we had to get to a movie. After ruining our dinner, I would have expected some gesture to try and make things right. There was none. Not even a sincere apology. No manager visit to our table to explain the delay--in fact, we first saw the manager when he brought the processed credit card receipt. When I complained to him, he insisted that the delay was only 30 minutes (which was wrong, and wrong to say even if it had been right, which it was not). People choose to trust a restaurant when they dine there. That choice should be honored with good service, or in cases where mistakes happen, sincere efforts to make things right.
Hello Mark, Firstly, we would like to thank you for your patronage and feedback. Our apologies for your experience at our restaurant. We hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you and exceed your expectations. Appreciate if you can send a note with your information to indu@tyctustin Warm Regards, The Yellow Chilli, Tustin
What an awesome restaurant experience! My son has introduced us to Indian food and this is my favorite go to place! Celebrity chef met all expectations
Really good Indian food. An innovative bar menu. All in all, a really good experience!
The food is top quality!
The food was good but the quantities were too small and the price was too large
Beverages appetizers especially were overpriced
Service was good but not stellar. Some items ordered came out much more quickly than expected and some took much much longer than expected.
The piped in music was way too loud, but fortunately they were able to turn it down some.
Outdoor patio heaters were all out of propane.
And even though we had a small party of five when the check came in already had an 18% gratuity with no option to reduce, so I would not go back there for that reason alone.
We had to wait for 30 min even after reservation. The service was very slow and food was decent
Overall, it was a good experience. The food is a little on the salty side but other than that, the service and ambiance is exceptional.
If you want superior Indian food this is the place to go. We are British and are always searching for good Indian food. This place ranks up there with Dishoom and the Masala zone in London. Superb selection of well imagined Indian classics with extra flair.
Made a reservation on open table and when we reached there the reservation was not respected. We were told they are closed for the day. Why waste time marking reservations if it is not going to be respected. The management is so third class they had no manners to call and inform. When I reached they said casually oh we are closed - oh you made a reservation but we closed. Horrible management - ruined the day. Never ever again. Make a reservation at your own risk. Not worth it / horrible management - worst management ever. Better to eat at Mc Donald’s than this place as it has better service than this place
Excellent service from all staff.
We tried The Yellow Chilli because I've driven by it so many times and was intrigued. I went with a couple of friends and we all agreed the food was delicious. I especially liked the Meen Moilee which was fish in coconut curry. The fish was so light and flaky - it melted in my mouth. The Garlic Naan and Murgh Noormahal Biryani (Rice with Pieces of Chicken on it) were excellent side dishes. Friendly, Professional Service. We'll be back!
Probably the best Indian food in OC.
We went there for our anniversary lunch. The decor was good, and food was awesome and per our high expirations.
Service was okay not spectacular. Our utensils were dirty and layered with dust. The water cups were dirty too.
We were there for food and the food was really good. They were some of the yummy stuff ever.
Being accustomed to eating Indian food in the UK in restaurants where chef’s have been awarded by British Curry Awards, this restaurent is absolutely on par.
The food is delicious and there is a good selection of vegetarian dishes and the naan was spot on and crispy.
The only thing I missed was the spice and heat levels of UK Indian food - but I suppose they have had to adapt to the American taste.
The staff was very friendly and very attentive without being pushy - glasses were full all the time, food was arriving at a good pace.
Chef Sagar is a gem, a real Chef.
Sanjeev kapoor should be proud of him in his team
Everything was delicious and affordable
Brilliant Northern Indian cuisine straight outta London.
The service was incredible! The young man that waited on us was helpful, kind, and attentive!
Service was great! Food is amazing!
Good food. Unique and fresh. The naan was very ordinary.
Our waiter stepped us through the menu which was very helpful. The food options are diverse and portions are not clear so the waiter’s help made for better choices. The food was outstanding in all ways, including presentation. We want to return and try more of the menu options.
Not worth repeating. I love good Indian food, but this wasn’t good. I got the spinach dumplings as the reviews I read recommended them. 3 small dumplings in a tomato based sauce that was too sweet. Not sure who puts sugar in this but it was horrible. Food is served al la carte so ordered rice to go with it. My nephew ordered the butter chicken which was okay but the portion was small. Best part of the meal was the garlic naan. Never going back
Exceptional masala and curries, reminded us of the Indian cuisine that we get when in London. We will be back!
This is one of our favorite local Indian restaurants. My husband & I have been here many times since they have opened and have tried almost everything on the menu! We brought 3 new first time diners with us. A few things to highlight - the table wasn’t fully set for 5 people - we were missing a full place setting and random cutlery amongst us. After appetizers were cleared & some cutlery was taken, we hadn’t been given replacement cutlery with our main meals. Therefore, I was flagging down staff to request replacement cutlery for dinner. The naan bread, which is normally one of our absolute favorites, wasn’t as fresh & hot as normal either. It tasted rubbier than normal. Naturally, we were disappointed. It was the first time we ordered the lentils and I wouldn’t say they were worth the $17+ for the size and quality. Other than that we enjoyed our meals.
The food was amazing! Our phenomenal server had great recommendations! The Butter Chicken melts in your mouth and the Garlic Naan was out of this world. I am definitely going back!
