   Swordfish with spinach, ratatouille, and mashed potato was wonderful. I'd order it again, probably more likely for dinner. There wasn't enough lighter fare on the menu for lunch unfortunately, but my entree was great. Chocolate mousse was not great.

   A real gem of a restaurant. Quaint, historic and charming! The Red House is a hidden gem located right in the heart of Harvard Square. The service is impeccable and a joyful dining experience. Their clam chowder IS THE BEST in New England by a margin of 3. You just must have it!

    The food was fantastic, the setting was cozy and relaxed. The seafood empanadas are outstanding. The sound level is perfect—you can have a conversation with your dinner companions and no one has to yell!

    I’m sorry to say I don’t remember my server’s name nor my bartender but they were phenomenal. They absolutely made the experience. Very knowledgeable’ honest about entrees. Couldn’t be happier with my experience. Would highly recommend.

    We had a lovely post Valentine’s dinner. The food was delicious especially the Brussels Sprouts app. Service was attentive but not obtrusive at all!! We highly recommend this restaurant.

    we had tuna and swordfish steaks. These were pretty good although basic. Nothing fabulous though. We were very disappointed in the fried calamari appetizer though. Really subpar. Perhaps it was our mistake to order it, since the waiter recommended something else. However, we expected its quality to be at least average. It was disappointingly subpar.

    Got very sick the next day after eating here. Contacted the restaurant and no answer. Would love my money back—the food wasn’t even worth getting sick over!

    We ate on the porch under warm heaters and clear plastic siding. It was lovely to feel the outside inside. The waitstaff was excellent as usual, and while I ordered what I always order and enjoy, my spouse tried the short ribs and loved the plate. The Red House is becoming our new "local."

    Had an excellent experience. First timers. Server Holly was top notch, from drinks to food recommendations. Living with a gluten sensitivity, I especially appreciated her ability to steer me in the right direction for gluten-free options. Shared a dozen abundant Duxbury oysters, a delicious and flavorful roasted kale salad, and we each got the seafood fra diavolo: mine over gluten free gnocchi. The gnocchi was the best GF gnocchi I've ever had, and the sauce had just the right amount of spiciness. My husband also got an appetizer of the seafood empanadas, and said he would come back for those alone! As a tequila fan, I enjoyed the Mezcal and Walnut: perfect winter sipping drink. Dined in the bar room, and I would choose that room again. It was a weekday lunch, and there was only one other party in that quaint room, full of character. We will return!

    They were very accommodating to a gluten-free, no garlic, no onion diet and gave me a delicious lunch. Service was excellent. Setting was pleasant and they have a great "outdoor" option that was not too cold even on a 35 degree day.

    Met up with an old friend from law school. Food was good, the drinks were very good and the server was a real pleasure to deal with. If I lived in Cambridge I would be a regular.

    First time back to The Red House in more than five years and oh my how it has changed. While the food was pretty good, and the service efficient and friendly, the décor was not what we recalled - at all - and the ambience has changed significantly. Not the chintzy little New England restaurant in the pretty little lane, more the vibrant pink walled cocktail bar with bench seating and very basic amenities. Could not have been more disappointed, but that's not the restaurants fault; time moves on and Covid took it's toll everywhere. Probably does quite well with the student crowd, we would guess - but really not for us.

    Food quality very poor. Ordered swordfish, but was smelly and I left 75% of the food. My friend’s Tuna was the same. I felt NE calm chowders was good. I felt embarrassed for taking my friend who was visiting from Philly. Not worth for the price. I would rename this as “Redhouse burger shop”.
