   Atmosphere was fine…a nice dining area at the golf club. The servers were nice, but slow. Food was average at best…greasy too. Since it’s part of The Phoenician, we expected a higher quality overall.

   Ok, normally I do not leave reviews because who am I to critique food and service. I felt compelled to leave a review this time due to the fact that the service was excellent! I have dined here a couple times and the manager, Alex has always gone above and beyond to make my experience at the Tavern a special one. In the two times I’ve been there, Alex and his waiting staff spark conversation with me like I have been a constant regular for years. The food is great but I will continue to return because of the individuals who work there.

   First time I've been to the Tavern at The Phoenician Resort. Amazing views of the golf course, servers were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly... Lynnae was so funny and just a great to have wait on us! The hostess Bella was a complete joy. Best part of the entire experience was the delicious food. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to all of our Colorado friends to visit!

   I went tonight to celebrate my husbands birthday. After spending 3 nights at the Phoenician this restaurant is by far the worst of the restaurants on the property for dinner. The wait was 2 hours for food and that’s having a reservation. Absolutely unacceptable. Apparently Julie is the manager and already left for the night. I don’t know what kind of manager leaves when the restaurant is overbooked. Our server, bartender and other management did their best but if upper management doesn’t care it shows. I will Never book for dinner again and anyone who asks I will strongly advise against.

   Really disappointing first night. It’s our first time to visit the Phoenician. Wanted a chill night one so we decided to do the Tavern. I’m not sure what’s going on, but it took forever. Service was bad, food was decent but super slow. We got there at 6 before the dinner rush and there was only a few other tables. Despite that, food took an hour to arrive, drinks (canned/draft beer) took 20 minutes. Dessert took 30 minutes. We asked for a golf cart to bring us back to the Canyon Suites after; the server said he would call but never did and we waited outside for 20 minutes. Finally security came by and called for us; they showed up in 5 minutes and said nobody else ever called. Super disappointing, the whole thing.

    While I enjoyed the food and dueling pianos at the tavern I was INCREDIBLY disappointed by how some things played out. We had 7:30 reservations and showed up on time. They had to move a table for us because it ‘suddenly got crowded’ although we had the reservations ahead of time so our table should have been reserved (implied in the name reservation). We sat down and ordered a couple of cocktails and an appetizer and a side. They came out around 7:50. After finishing those we placed another appetizer order. Our server (Cecelia, who was wonderful) came back about 10 minutes later and said the kitchen closed at 8 because of the piano entertainment but that she had had no idea prior and they were now only services drinks. How could we possibly show up for a 7:20 reservation and NOT be told the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes?!? It’s ridiculous and such a poor decision on managements part. It started out so great with wonderful food and service and was SUCH a disappointment

    NYE lunch. Venue is casual and pleasant, overlooking the golf course. No heaters but it was warm enough to keep our outside table. Our waiter was Kevin and he was very personable and professional, checking in often. The food was delicious; spinach dip appetizer and Cobb salad and pastrami Reuben. Salad offered fresh and tasty ingredients while the sandwich was juicy and full of flavor. Sweet potato chips are an excellent side. The only disappointment - and I do hope the management reconsiders - is that cocktails that used to be (and still advertised online) as $7 during happy hour are now doubled at $14. My margarita was good but I would not purchase in the future at that extravagant happy hour price. Draft beer is still $7 and great for my spouse who enjoyed a hazy IPA. But I prefer cocktails. Please bring back the $7 special.

    The Achiote BBQ chicken tacos were loaded and absolutely delicious. We had impeccable service. The golf course and sunset views were stunning from our patio table on Christmas Day!

    Staff were really attentive. Crab puffs (new to the menu) were a great snack. Lite and tasty. Ambiance was decent - a little darker interior than i expected given its view of the golf course.

    The setting is so beautiful it could carry the place alone -a picturebook perfect landscaped golf club. Instead, they run a first-class tavern overlooking that view. Everything possible is made from scratch and they source the very best products. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the service downright friendly. This is probably the most affordable way to experience one of the premier golf resorts in Arizona. Don't tell anyone.

    I do not recommend going here. Something has changed. We have visited here multiple times in the past and was a completely a different experience. The hostesses were a major problem. We made reservations the day before for two inside. When we arrived they sat us in the bar, which is not reserved seating it’s first come open seating, and sat us right up against exterior sliding doors which was very cold. We asked the hostess if we could have a booth or a table in the dining room, since we made reservations. She refused and said those reservations were for larger parties. She was very rude. To make things worse, I peaked in the dining room, and there were several tables with only 2 guests and half the tables were still open. Over the next 45 minutes only 2 parties were seated in the dining room, one larger party of 5 and PARTY OF 2! To make it worse, my wife ordered a hamburger, medium well, and it came out bloody, she couldn’t eat any of it. My chicken thigh dinner was overcooked and dry. The food was terrible. The only memorable portion of the night was Marvis the bartender. He made amazing drinks and offered great service. If you go, sit at the bar and GET DRINKS ONLY. Don’t bother making a reservation, it doesn’t help!

    After eating at the other restaurants at the resort, we went to the Phoenician Tavern on our last night - and it was incredible. The food was extremely tasty, including the desserts. Our server Lynnae had such an a great customer service approach to everything, and was simply wonderful to talk with throughout our dinner. We will definitely be going back the next time we are at the resort!

    There was a special event and we had made our reservations prior to knowing about the event. We had 2 phone calls from the Tavern stating that we would not have to pay the event fee since we had made reservations for dinner. Julie, the manager, came to out table and stated "I would like to know who you talked to because they were clearly wrong" with an attitude. Not very professional to represent The Phoenician.

    Although we chose to dine early there was a lack of atmosphere. The food was distinctly average. My cobb salad was very cold and watery and the shrimp too spicy. The kids menu had a poor choice and was very unhealthy, not keen to return.

    We were a party of 6 so seated away from main area, which was fine, but there were several fruit fly type bugs on table. We didn’t moved but wiped table. Our server, name began with a J, was nice enough but a bit scattered. She didn’t get one order right and when we explained what we wanted, the 2nd order not correct. The burgers we had were good, other dinners ok, however they need to upgrade ambiance, servers and options to make it an attractive option on the Phoenician property.
