I was expecting a lot more based on pictures of the location, but the ambiance during the daytime wasn’t as nice as the pictures they show at night. They had an overhead tent, so it wasn’t open like I imagined it would be with the sunlight coming down. The food and dessert was pretty average tasting for the cost. I expected a lot more of a luxury experience, but it was a bit mediocre. I also disliked the occurrence when two waiters were talking and laughing with each other as they starred right at our table. As soon as I made eye contact they immediately stopped and looked away making it that much more obvious they were talking about us.
The views alone are a reason to eat here!! Views aside the food was out of this world! Best food we had in Venice by far. All the staff were extremely friendly as well! We can't wait to come back.
Food was not that great. They charge a pretty large fee per person for the table(changing of the linens and etc.). I think the cost of food is really to reflect the experience of eating on the canal. It has a beautiful view and if you want to dine for the experience of eating on the canal this may be a place to book. If you are looking for amazing food I would choose a different place.
Wonderful view! You definitely should go there to enjoy calm time in Venice!
Recommend you to try fried seafood
Pricey with nothing really knocking our socks off. The view is great value not so good.
Come in for a drink!!! Watch the view and enjoy!!!!
It was excellent
Beautiful setting and a lovely atmosphere. Food was outstanding too. Thank you for a lovely afternoon
Best dinner ever in Venice! Love everything about the restaurant! The food was superb! Will be back definitely!
Service was great ! Great view !
This restaurant is absolutely perfect and the service is wonderful, the view is amazing
Despite having mentioned in my reservation and in person that my son has a nut allergy the waiter recommended a dish with pesto for him that is always made with nuts.
The service was extremely lacking and they charged us 9 euro per person for the bread and olive oil, even though most entrees are priced at 50 euro and above.
The portion sizes are tiny - a pasta dish is about the size of the palm of my hand (I'm 5ft 1")
Very disappointing. Even the view cannot make up for the terrible experience all around.
Lovely staff and food! Great chilled atmosphere! View is outstanding!
Beautiful setting on the canal. Perfect cocktails, and great service
Beautiful views, great tasting food and service was fantastic! Thanks for having us!
Look, the Griti Terrace is probably worth a visit just for the view. I went there on my first Friday evening in Venice. It is right along the water, and part of an upscale Marriott property. I had a pricey (nothing is inexpensive in Venice) glass of champagne, and they brought over sone olives (good), corn nuts (not bad) and potato chips (don’t eat them). I sipped and snacked, then switched to a pricey Chardonnay and the risotto of the day.
I enjoyed, snapped photos and made my friends jealous by posting the waterway scenes and blue summer skies on line.
Then, the bill came 110 Euros - over $120!!! And oh, did they forget to mention that there was a charge for the half-eaten appetizers they put in front of me.
As I left, I passed couple who were sitting ten feet away on a curb just outside the Gritti Terrace. They were enjoying a pizza and a bottle of Prosecco they’d bought down the street for 25 Euros. Their view? At least as good as mine.
The view of the Grand Canal was wort every penny. Food was good and service was great. Try the Bellini
We indirectly complained about the pasta portion size and the really nice waiter mentioned it to the chef who surprisingly made another portion.
Fantastic service with genuine friendliness
Most likely visit again when next in Venice.
Great celebration for birthday! The restaurant kindly provided my daughter very memorable birthday celebration. The view from the restaurant was incredible. Highly recommended.
El lugar es espectacular pero la comida y bebidas muy caras. Nada del otro mundo.
Lo recomendaría para ir a echar dos drinks y ya
It was lovely sitting on the terrazza and enjoying the view of the canal and the Santa Maria della Salute church. The food and service were wonderful too! It was pricey, yes, but worth it for such a memorable experience.
Fabulous canal side restaurant with beautiful views and superb service
This is the place to come if you want to feel like a 1960s movie star for a few hours. It’s extremely expensive, the food/drinks are good, but not great. The ambience and are view are incredible though...a unique and special experience. If that’s not enough to balance the hefty price tag for you, you may want to choose another restaurant. But we had our first lunch here upon arriving, and it absolutely put us in the Venice mindset.
Breakfast with a view!
Very very very slow service with no apologies! Great views of the canal.
Spendy but a fun treat while on vacation. This was our first stop after getting off the water bus our first hour in Venice. I had seen the place in the movie '15:17 to Paris' while on our plane ride LAX-Rome and thought it looked neat. Made us a reservation and we went in for a cocktail in the late afternoon and enjoyed the view of the all the hustle and bustle on the grand canal. The drinks are VERY expensive but we had a beer and the free cocktail munchie tray they bring you. It's a nice high end hotel right on grand canal, their cocktail terrace on the canal is very small & quaint.
Beautiful view, lovely wait staff . Food very good.
We arrived for a 4.45 table. We felt quite uncomfortable as the the tables on the terrace were being removed while we were eating leaving us as the only table on the terrace. It was clearly the end of service before the dinner service inside. Felt quite neglected. The tuna and salmon starter were however great as was the view. All spoilt by the service!!
Absolutely lovely view - not worth the price for any of the menu items. Most disappointing meal during entire Italy trip.
Tutto ottimo. Personale, cibo. Un po’ caro ma in linea con i prezzi in base alla location. Consigliato
Fantastic attentive staff, simple food done perfectly, and brilliant views.
Perfect lunch with the family in the sunshine. Delicious food
I booked this through open table 2 months ago for a surprise trip for my boyfriends birthday. I had a confirmation email the day before asking if I could still make it. When I got to the restaurant on his birthday id booked months ago & had a reminder sent to me yesterday.. again didn’t offer to help the situation. I had to say I want to still be sat outside. After all the rudeness and unwillingness to help I decided to only stay for one drink. I would have happily spent money on food & a few cocktails but the service I received was shocking.
Beautiful restaurant. Proportions are small and there is a cover charge for dining there
Beautiful setting, on the Canal Grande! View over the magnificent church and the gondolas. Peaceful, upscale with a surprisingly good risotto.
The pasta vongole wasn’t the best. Everything else was excellent. The sommelier was amazing and the highlight of the dining experience. Best
Marvelous customer service level from the waiters. Scenic view and quality wine. Perfect lunch!
Wonderful place. Good food. Short Menu. Too high price even considering and balancing quality, food, service, place, etc.
The terrace is lovely but food isn’t spectacular at all.
I asked the waiter to check with kitchen if mozzarella was pasteurised and he refused telling me to simply remove it from the dish.
Quite surprising and disappointing attitude.
A bit pricey but excellent service, food and view!
