                                                            I made a reservation for dinner on Open Table about 2 weeks before the date needed. My parents had flown in and we were coming here for mine and my Dad's birthday dinner. Apparently they don't use OpenTable anymore and were having problems shutting down their account, so they did not have our reservation. They were unable to seat us per the hostess/waitress because they were booked. I advised I had a confirmation from OpenTable with my reservation. She advised me they don't use them anymore. I advised her it's active and they should check the site for reservations. We frequent this place ALOT and love it so my husband asked for the owner who was not in but they got him on the phone. They said they would try to get us a table, but by that time I was so frustrated, angry and disappointed that we left. It was supposed to be my birthday dinner along with my Dad whose was visiting from out of state. I am sad to say that I will not be returning back to Grand Cafe.

                                                            Our dinner and service was great, however there was an issue with our reservation. Because it was New Year’s eve weekend, the restaurant was taking only reservations. Although we booked with Open Table and even got a confirmation back, once we got to the restaurant, they informed us that they in fact did NOT have a reservation for us, because of the holiday they were not taking Open Table reservations. It was very frustrating and embarrassing as we had invited guests for a table of 4. Things were resolved as we were invited to wait shortly at the bar until their one table assigned for the inevitable “walk-ins” opened up, but somehow the restaurant needs to communicate with Open Table better?

                                                            Wonderful restaurant by any standards---anywhere in the world. Great, innovative menu. Top wine list. Pretty surroundings. We will continue to go there, when in Jefferson City. Wait staff were helpful and not intrusive.

                                                            We were very happy to find a high quality, delicious place to dine in Jeff city with some focus on sourcing local ingredients. The waitress was very good. The ambience was casual yet refined. The food was some of the best to be found in the area. The portions were perfect size. Great job, we will be back!!

                                                            Friendly staff, great food and lovely wine list. I recommend the appetizer size ribeye with frites- it's all the steak you need for great value. And don't miss the bread pudding. Some of the best I've ever had.

                                                            Nice restaurant in the downtown Jefferson City area. The lunch and dinner menus have much to offer as this area tends to be limited outside of many chain restaurants and fast food establishments (sorry Jeff City - Culver's et. al. do not qualify as restaurants). The favors are vibrant and well balanced. The menu is also well thought out and most patrons should find something that will interest them. Their wine menu and cocktail list are also refreshing. The only drawback is the decibel level when crowded. You often feel as if you have to compete to carry on a conversation due to the acoustics. Overall, well done Grand Cafe. A NY quality eatery here in the Capitol.

                                                            Enjoyed the meal. Food was good and quite imaginatively designed for small town Missouri. Filet was minuscule--less than advertised. Ordered lamb rare and it was barely medium rare. Still it was pretty satisfactory and probably as good as it will get in Jeff City
