Horrible experience from start to finish. Took 50 minutes just to get bread for the table. Took 90 minutes for our meal to come. Forgot side dishes ordered. Daughters filet was so cold it couldn’t melt the herb butter she ordered as a side. My New York strip was so thin it had to be the flat iron steak. My wife’s rack of lamb was gamey and they tried to cover it up by over seasoning. All this at top notch steakhouse pricing. I’ve had better food at Outback or Texas Roadhouse.
I wish I could give this place a better rating and review. The steaks, considering their pricing, were not that great. Local Sedona resident for 30 plus years, first time dining here. The caesar salad was served with no anchovies, (listed on menu), waiter serves salad and after waiting over 5 minutes comes back and tells me they are out. The onion rings were good, recommend. The beef tartare, very good. Back to the steaks...The Ny strip was chewy and at $54, should be perfect. The rib eye was just ok. The house cabernet at $44/bottle was not bad. We shared the bread pudding, and that was good.
I took my wife and three kids, Knowing that prices would be inflated and it was not worth the price tag. My steak was over cooked and my wife's was undercooked…they actually gave us someone else’s plates. Server brought us our actual plates five minutes after. Wife ordered the butter and herb sauce which is actually amazing. However, because they gave us the wrong plates she was not able to enjoy it when the steak was hot and fresh. Drink refills were nonexistent. While eating we did not have any drinks to enjoy to help wash down our food. Bottom line for me was, if I’m paying top price for service, I shouldn’t get apple bees service.
Big prices, small portions…. Drinks and food.
Paltry wine pour, side of applesauce in CONDIMENT CONTAINER!! Server didn’t come back to give refill of another small, skinny glass of diet pop!!!
One and done for us
We were served very tough steaks that were very expensive. They were not the cut we selected from the menu - they were not beef tenderloins. Tough as a boot. Smaller than advertised but OK because I could not eat it. The peppercorn sauce had no resemblance to the real thing - tasteless watery and cold. They gave us the wrong appetizer and said it was too late to get us what we ordered. This is the worst restaurant experience this 75 yr old guy has ever had.
Waited 1 &1/2 hours and never got our food. We bother ordered steaks at 7pm. Steaks came out with sides at 7:40. Steaks were raw. Sent them back to be cooked more. Server left our sides so we ate our sides without our steaks. At 8:10 steaks came back out and guess what? Still raw inside. Told server we didn’t want the steaks and I ordered the fish special and my husband ordered a burger at 8:10. At 8:30 a full hour and a half after we sat down our new order hadn’t come yet. We lost our appetites and left without eating dinner. It was a horrible experience especially since it was my birthday dinner. And to top it off, a manager never came to talk to us. Horrible place. Won’t ever go back.
Honeymoon dinner. Attentive server. Good food. Mac n cheese was a little watery like noodles were not drained all the way.
The food was perfectly prepared. Great atmosphere and Brandon was great with his suggestions. If we are ever in Sedona again we will definitely return.
Everything is a la carte, so be prepared for that. Nothing provided for your table such as bread. The food itself was good, but the service was horrible. This place definitely has the tourist trap written all over it.
I just wish people would wear masks, since the Pandemic is still with us. When a server loudly talks and laughs within 2 feet, I don’t feel safe.
The best Prime rib we’ve ever had. Outstanding!
We went here for our elopement wedding dinner. The owner came over and celebrated with us ❤️. Awesome food, drinks, and ambience was great for our special evening.
We had high hopes for this place. Our restaurant shuttle got canceled 3 hrs before our reservation, our 20 dollar shrimp cocktail only came with 3 shrimp. One of our steaks was so burnt we had to send it back. Luckily our waitress Brooke was AWESOME! Personally it's to over priced for the quality of food.
Order was taken down incorrectly, overall food good prices too high for what you get
Service was poor. We originally booked an outside reservation then ended up changing it in the open table app to a different time and to be inside to avoid bugs. When we got there they had no record of an inside table so they basically said it was too bad and we sat outside. The front desk lady said she would light a bug candle for us then never did. I went inside to see if anyone had a lighter and the lady that told me she was going to come out to light it said she asked around and no one had a lighter but never bothered to tell us. They never offered us the bar area to sit in originally even though it’s first come first serve so I asked if we could move in. Everyone seemed annoyed at the fact we moved. It took a long time for the bartender to even attend us which is normal if you sit in the bar but this was extra long. My rare steak wasn’t cooked properly you could tell they cooked it too fast. The food clearly sat for awhile before they brought it out because it was cold. They didn’t even serve my steak with a steak knife…. and by the time I could ask someone for one my steak was even colder than it was before. The female bartender seemed like it was her first week. We only talked to her once until someone else stepped in to take care of us you could tell she was overwhelmed. We couldn’t believe how terrible this was. We will not be returning not because of the poor manors but because the food was not worth the price.
Great place good steaks
We ate pork chop, scallops, salmon and filet, all of which were great! The semi-dry Riesling was one of the best we’ve tasted.
I asked for my very expensive steak to be medium rare but it was blood rare and so salty that it was basically inedible. The outdoor seating is on a patio next to the highway with trucks continuously rumbling by. Indoor seating was subject to the loudest piano vocalist we have ever heard. Wasn’t the anniversary dinner we had hoped for.
All of our steaks were at best Choice meat from a supermarket, very disappointing. We thought we would give this restaurant a try but we would not recommend or go back again.
Everything was delicious and our server, I don’t remember her name, was terrific!
We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Very nice, the only complaint was my steak was well done, I had ordered it medium. My husbands steak was perfect.
The restaurant itself was very nice. They had a great bar/lounge area with live music that was not overwhelming if you wanted the formal date night in another room. You were able to hear the music while still enjoying your night at the table. Sadly our table was wobbly so that was a little inconvenient but not a deal breaker. Our server was great, kind and efficient. It was the food that was lacking.
My husband got the sirloin and said it was not good, it was a little too charred on the outside and reminded him of hamburger meat, my chicken was also a little charred on the outside, it could have been that they don’t clean the grill often enough per night. Considering that we chose the place because it was a steakhouse this was where we were disappointed definitely not a recommended place to go for steak. The lobster Mac was great and my mashed potatoes were very tasty, but that was not enough to win over the not appetizing steak dish.
Our first time there and everything was great. We will return to try other foods.
Wife ordered pork chop which was partially cooked my baby back ribs were ok
We had an unfortunate experience here. It took more than 30 minutes to get our first round of drinks. My wife and I ordered a salad to split that was never delivered. The food was fairly good once we got it but it took forever to get another round of drinks and our food. I think the server just had too many tables and could not service them all. We would not recommend this restaurant.
Table was so wobbly they had to put 6 cardboard coasters under a leg to level it. The room was cold with a fan right above us. My request to change tables was not granted. I chose the restaurant because they had pressed chicken on the menu. After taking our order the waiter returned five minutes later saying they were out of chicken. After looking over the menu I said I’d have the pork chop. “Sorry, we’re out of the pork chop”. Since I had beef the night before I settled on the lamb which was ok but overpriced at 44 dollars.
I don’t mind paying for a good meal, but a restaurant that charges
60-70 dollars for a steak needs to do a better job on the details.
We had much better meals in Sedona at half the price.
This was a disappointment, Calamari was cold, salad over dressed, prime rib was ordered medium and was rare, tried to portray themselves as a high end Steak house charging for sub par side dishes. Dirty martini was all olive juice and no Vodka. Completely ruined our Anniversary weekend in beautiful Sedona.
We celebrated our 40th anniversary while on vacation in Sedona and picked the restaurant for its fine dining near our B&B. The Filet Mignon was outstanding and the espresso martini was to die for. We we were seated outside (by our request) on the front patio which was pleasant however it’s right off the road and thus the road noise on a Saturday night was a little loud lessening the ambiance but we got use to it and the food and service more than made up for it. Our waitress, Marina, was very knowledgeable and very friendly which was extra special for us.
Order was wrong when received and the server was not very friendly or efficient.
Very poor service as we had to wait 1 hour and 40 minutes to receive our dinner and the waiter, Michael, never came by to explain the problem the kitchen was experiencing. Food quality was good and everything tasted fine.
Seated in bar since main dining saved for a special unknown event. Filet (medium) charred on outside and raw inside.
A great evening with special friends! I would highly recommend Steakhouse 89
When we were there everything my husband ordered turned out to be unavailable. With that said, our waiter Michael handle this exceptionally well. Would go back, only because of him.
Wine was good. Calamari not bad. Potatoes Incredible. Service and ambience are good. The steak…not so great. It was a good quality cut. It was cooked properly. But the super salty rub they used on it Ruined the steak. I wanted to like it. I didn’t. I Would not go back.
We enjoyed our evening. Our sever was great even though she had a ton of tables. We were supposed to sit outside but instead were seated in an alcove which turned out to be better. The food was good not great. The pork chop seasoning was a bit salty. The live music was amazing! We would eat here again.
Our reservations were for 7:30 on a Sunday night. We were told they were out of 6oz filet, 8iz filet mignon, chicken, and pork chops, and also loaded baked potatoes. This restaurant came recommended and since we were in From Philadelphia we took the locals recommandation. We have been to many nice restaurants throughout the country, but this one was terrible.
The food was good, way over priced for what you get.
Delicious food! Quick service! Super friendly wait staff!
The steaks were just way too charred for our taste. Salads and vegetables were good. Took almost 2 hours for dinner so had to be honest with this review.
The appetizers were spot on and the drinks were good. The steak was another matter. We both ordered medium filet mignon. We got charred black on the outside and mostly rare on the inside. It took so long to get our steak that it was not worth sending back. The lobster Mac and cheese had so little lobster it looked like it accidentally got dropped into the regular Mac and cheese. Would not recommend.
