Really nice traditional Thai restaurant. Really well priced, service a little slow
Spice Thai is a great value-for-money restaurant serving great food in a interesting setting.
Absolute quality & tasty food. Gluten free options were clearly identified. Ideal for coeliacs.
Didn't taste very authentic at all - The Green Thai Chicken Curry especially.
Amazing food, excellent value for money, with a casual atmosphere
Even though it’s hidden the food was really authentic and delicious
All very good bit too much bass from the bar downstairs where we were sat
Excellent thai food served in a casual atmosphere. Very good service.
Spice thai reminds me of street food in Thailand. Food taste amazing and atmosphere was nice too. Good value for money, will definitely be returning and definitely recommend to friends.
Very good food and very big portions.
Only drawback while we were there was a rebuilding at the resturant.
We ordered green curry with chicken and pad Thai. They were good but not outstanding. The food and wine were reasonably priced , and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Spur of the moment decision for dinner but a good one. We enjoyed the dinner.
i enjoy the food and the ambiance. it was for lunch and there was very few people. the waiter was very kind.
Absolutely fantastic meal. As good as you’d get in Thailand, really authentic and delicious. We couldn’t decide (or stop ourselves) so ended up ordering 4 starters and 3 mains between the two of us! Highly recommend and will be back. Thank you, Spice Thai.
Do not be put off by the entrance, what lies inside is unbelievable food, friendly staff and a great ambience. Amazing night here.
Really tasty thai food - great ambience in the restaurant. We were there on a Monday night and it was buzzing
Inconsistent quality of the chicken in the satay skewers. Ranging from tough to rubbery.
Asked for a spicy version of a non spicy dish and got an inedible “extra” spicy dish that I couldn’t eat. I eat a lot of spicy food and this was absurd.
No character at all. Food below average. Unappealing presentation. Masssman curry sauce looked like brown water.
We were early before the crowd so it’s difficult to assess what it would be like when busy. I would describe it as basic, but very clean and tasty and very reasonable, the lunch 2 course menu was £11!!
We would definitely visit again.
Exceptional food and service, though had a bad stomach the morning after. This could be due to my intermittent bowel issue so not approtioning any blame. Though if it was due to the food, the pain was worth it haha!
Great find; as everyone else says, don’t be put off by entrance! Inside is very basic and an authentic take on a street food type cafe. Food was very tasty and there was plenty of it, drinks were reasonably priced, which makes a change....
Definite on the list for a revisit.
Ignore the outside , once inside and upstairs the rest is terrific, food, service and atmosphere all excellent. Would highly recommend
The only thing that lets it down is its poor accessibility (which I did not see mentioned anywhere). Having booked and specified an “accessible table” I was shocked to find the restaurant is up two flights of stairs! I managed to get up with help but was then taken to a table up on a platform. My friend went on a reccy for an accessible toilet but there was none. More steps were involved!
In this day and age, there should be a stairlift and other facilities for those of us who need a bit of extra TLC!
On the plus side: the food was lovely (although very slow) and the staff fantastic.
This is a hidden gem. We loved the food which was reasonable priced. We will definitely be going again
Lovely food and excellent service. Only down side is the environment, especially the entrance. Possibly refurbish would br much better. However, can't doubt the food
Some of the best Thai food I have had outside of Asia. The spicy papaya salad is a must! Be sure you can handle the heat. Will be back and can’t wait!
Ambience etc v difficult to judge cos v early; food and value superb
I'm very glad I stumbled upon Spice Thai, the food was delicious and satisfied the craving for Thai food I was having. We ordered the prawns, fishcakes, Thai green curry and Pad Kee Mao which was more than enough for two people. As it was a Friday night, the restaurant was busy which meant a little bit of a wait in service. This was expected though and we didn't mind as when we were served everyone was so polite and happy to help.
I'm looking forward to sampling more of the menu when I return tomorrow!
Fantastic food , service . Loved my Thursday afternoon birthday lunch
Service was a bit slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy, but except that it was nice.
Lots of character to the restaurant with some great South East Asian touches including a rickshaw booth.
Some good dishes, but unfortunately a couple were probably a bit sweet for our tastes.
What a great find in Liverpool. Situated on a less than salubrious back alley, and the stairs having seen better days, once inside it's great. Usually, an indicator of a good asian food venue is when Asians are eating there and they were. Great food, great service, quirky decor (loved the Tuk-Tuk) and a totally great experience. Best thing about our weekend in Liverpool!
The best Pad Thai outside of Thailand.
You would easily walk passed this gem and keep on walking until you go up the stairs and experience very authentic people, decor and food.
Well done.
