Italian Restaurant& wine bar in Sarasota. Where you are a stranger only once.
His philosophy served him well with his previous Sarasota businesses. Café Gabbiano located on Siesta Key was originated by the Migliaccio family in 2003 where is four sons grew in and out of the restaurant business.
A second venture in downtown Sarasota was opened and designed by Pietro in 2012 named Casantica, a small old house converted to a quaint homey restaurant. Both restaurants are now under new ownership.
Now, this small intimate place is where I can have fun serving and meeting new friends. Benvenuti.

5-Star Review for Pietro Italian Restaurant I recently celebrated my birthday at Pietro Italian Restaurant (3809 S Tuttle Ave, Sarasota, FL 34239), and it was truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Florida. From the moment we walked in, Pietro and his wonderful staff made us feel like family. The warm, welcoming atmosphere set the perfect tone for a special occasion. Our waitress, Johanna, was outstanding! She took care of us like we were her own family — attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, from recommending dishes to checking in on us throughout the meal. Her service made the evening even more memorable. The food? Absolutely 5-star. Everything we ordered was exceptional — fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. If you love authentic Italian cuisine, this is hands-down one of the best Italian restaurants in Florida. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted so fresh, and every bite was a delight. Pietro clearly puts pride and passion into every plate. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or just want a fantastic Italian meal, I highly recommend Pietro Italian Restaurant. The combination of outstanding food, exceptional service from Johanna and the team, and that personal touch from Pietro himself makes it a true gem in Sarasota. We’ll definitely be back soon — thank you Pietro, Johanna, and the entire staff for making my birthday so special! ❤️

Pietro’s is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. The owners are up-front and in the kitchen and take great pride in creating a friendly, family-feeling environment, with wonderful, fresh, tasty home-style & traditional dishes. Whether you are a first timer or a return visitor, you are greeted and treated like a long-time old friend. The decor is charming. The space is small and can get loud but beyond that, it’s a joy to be there. A gem not to be missed . Crème brulee and tiamisu are not to be missed for desert.

I almost hesitate to post this as it’s a small place and we want to be able to easily get in again. But, this place is amazing from the friendly staff, the cozy atmosphere, the amazing food, to the real, red rose on each table, we loved it.
