Great service and a great value lunch. The food was fantastic and cooked perfectly and the staff were friendly. Overall a great place for a treat for the tastebuds. Plenty of options when you add the choices at the oyster bar. Essential place to eat when in edinburgh.

My husband and I went for the seafood platter which was served hot. It was excellent. It contained Lobster, Scallops, Crab, Clams, Mussels and Oysters. They were all served in a Garlic and White wine sauce. We have this dish everytime we go, as yet we haven't found anyone that betters it. If you love seafood, this is the place to go.

This restaurant was recommended to us by mutual friend. Dinner was, a combination of oysters ( Loch Fyne our favorites) as a starter, sole as main course. Not as nice tasting as Dover sole but ok. Service was efficient. Dinner for two with wines, was very reasonable priced. Ambience is very pleasant and modern, not your typical seafood restaurant.

Another excellent meal at Ondine. The loin of venison - special of the day - was the best I have tasted and my husband's Sole Meuniere was superb as was our starter of Tempura Squid. Service as always was excellent - attentive without being over the top.

This is more stylish and elegant than the majority of Edinburgh restaurants; somewhere to impress a guest. The cooking matches this, with its elegant presentation, and the fixed price two= or three-course menu represents excellent value. It is primarily a fish restaurant, and that is what people go for.

We dined at this restaurant last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, this year it wasn't so good. Out of the four meals, only one was good, the restaurant was too noisy, too cramped and cold was blowing from the air con. We won't be going again.

I booked a pre theatre table as part of my husband's surprise 50th birthday weekend to see the Tattoo. The restaurant is very modern, light and presented beautifully. We were seated immediately on arrival which was good as we were attending the early viewing of the Tattoo and only had 1-1/2 hours to dine. We chose our food from the 3 course set menu. My husband had the Cullen Skink as a starter which the waitress explained was a smoked fish soup. It was absolutely delicious and I wish I had chosen that as a starter rather than the squid. The other two courses were well presented and very nice. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. We would definitely eat at the restaurant again.
