   Great starters we shared, the brussel sprouts, hamachi sashimi (I could have had 3 of these!!) and pork belly. The soup was great too. Treated wonderfully.

   Lovely meal. Enjoyed chatting with the sommelier who was very helpful. Sashimi appetizer was excellent. We had halibut, scallops, duck and lamb around the table and everyone enjoyed their meal.

   If you are anywhere near LA Jolla, put this restaurant on your list of must try. The food is excellent, service friendly and knowledgeable and ambience lovely.

   Unfortunately, we won't be back. We had not visited since covid and were looking forward to returning during a recent staycation in La Jolla. My duck, which the server recommended, was dry and salty, my partner's steak was just not very good, though he did enjoy the sauce. The server was almost surly. Living in San Diego we often see less-than-stellar service, but this guy was not happy.

    Had tasting menu experience. It was ok. Bread was good. Chefs choice of sweet and sour pomegranate sauce served with rib eye steak didnt work for me at all also veggies were overcharred and bitter. Scallops were decent and porcini sauce with pasta was good. I also don't like when they automatically include 20% service fee for a dinner for two, defeats the purpose of tipping

    Portions were v small. Pasta main course was very nicely presented and tasty but so tiny. Hamachi appetizer was very vinegar tasting. Decor at lunchtime needs some updating. They were adding tablecloths as we were eating lunch presumably for dinner service but this was off putting. Not sure we would return .

    First, I love this restaurant and have been a regular for 6+ years. The Chef always makes such wonderful combinations and the food has always been amazing. Valentine's Day, not so much. I had the steak and it was tough and rubbery even though I ask for it "medium." The desert I ordered was a blob of coconut cream- very disappointing. My husband was equally disappointed. Please go back to your fantastic ways!

    The Short Rib Toast was amazing!! My friend and I both ordered it and we both loved it. The short rib was so tender and flavorful but the Truffle Monray took this dish to a wonderful level. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to ordering it again.

    This might be my new favorite restaurant. We ordered the hamachi sashimi, tiger prawns special for appetizer. Both plates were exquisite. Entrees were the scallops and ribeye again both plates were delicious. Best scallops that I have ever tasted. Service was excellent and the establishment had a nice ambiance. Overall 5 stars!

    Although the food and service were excellent, the noise level made it impossible to converse. (It was a birthday dinner.) I would recommend a very early reservation, rather than the 6:45 one we had (earlier was filled, except for 5:45). We should have switched to the 5:45!!!

    Delicious!!!! everything was perfect. The menu is fabulous so many choices. The Cicao e Pepe appetizer was insane! We also have the sea bass cooked to perfection! The wine list was lovely. The service was excellent. Ambience was romantic. I can't wait to go back.

    Always a special treat! Setting, food and service superb. While menu always seems to present the same proteins, preparation/sauces vary creatively. Deserves a Michelin star!!!

    Food was absolutely fantastic. The service was prompt and very friendly. We highly recommend it. If you are into vegetarian food, the cauliflower steak is not be missed!

    We had brunch at restaurant. Ordered BloodyMary’s. Over the top on horseradish. Not balanced at all. We had the burger and a Ruben sandwich. Burger patty was way over salted. Ruben pastrami was sliced way to thin causing the meat texture to be mushy.

    Excellent service! Ambience was rather noisy as the bar nearby was following a football game. A bit pricey for the overall occasion. We will return to try the regular menu.

    Had the special, it was delicious. Love this restaurant, been going there for a long time and it is always a pleasure to have Chris as our server. Highly recommend going there if you like good food with beautiful plating and great service.

    We loved the setting and the food was absolutely delicious. The only regret was not being able to see the area during the day light hours. The waiters were exceptional. They paid attention to every detail and kept constant watch on the table without an over bearing presence This was a nice touch. We also like the amount of space we had and the large size of the table in our booth. Many restaurants crowd you into a small space at a very small table without room for managling items used during the meal. Hats off to Nine-Ten. They do it right.
