Kouklas Greek Eatery brings innovative Greek cooking and warm Mediterranean hospitality to Niles, Illinois. Led by James Beard award winner, Jimmy Bannos Jr., and Chef/Partner, Kevin Stack, Kouklas celebrates regional Greek flavors through live-fire cooking, seasonal ingredients, and dishes designed to be shared.

    We had many small plates and enjoyed them all. The beets and carrots were our tables favorite. The cheesecake was amazing as well! We had an side reservation and they found us room outside, which was great because it was a gorgeous night. Sitting on the patio was very enjoyable.

    Very good restaurant. Everything was great from food to service. Make reservations for sure. Always very busy.

    Great food and service. A little loud. We had a reservation at 7:00. We were seated at 7:00. Drink in hand by 7:15. Great experience. Food was delicious.

    Pretty restaurant, food is interesting. Not your typical greek. Octopus salad was fished, carrot salad very good. Lamb chops were delicious but a very small portion for the price. The service was the sore spot. Very inattentive to the point of passing on dessert and getting someone else to give us a bill which was wrong. I voiced my concerns to the manager on the way out who was very nice. No one in our group said they would go back. Eating out should be a relaxing. This was not

    The food was so incredible tasting. Love the menu. The staff is super gracious and friendly. So many people were bussing and serving. We did not receive bread until we asked for it. The waiter did apologize for that and I am really glad he brought it because it’s grilled and just so tasty. The problem is that our main courses arrived 2 + 1 + 1 . The last meal was delivered almost 15 minutes after the first and that of course is the person that needs to eat on a schedule for health reasons! At least two random people came by to ask what he had gotten as they could see he was not eating and they said they would go check. Finally another person delivered it. No explanation or apology was given for the delay in getting his Pasticio which is typically pre- made. The waiter seemed unaware of the snafu. It was enjoyed , but not traditional 4 inch high lasagne. It was flat and small. So, I am wondering if there was a kitchen error or their version is unique. It was very busy and very noisy for our 60 ish crowd. We had a hard time hearing each other.

    Very very noisy!!’ Food good but disappointed that some Greek specialties were not offered, no SKORDALIA???!! No Dolmathes. The Macaroni with browned butter was not as I had as a child.

    Our server and the rest of the staff we encountered were great. We loved every single drink and dish we ordered (the flavors of everything were amazing, especially the avgolemono!) Beautiful atmosphere. It started to get very loud towards the end of our dinner, however it wasn’t like music blasting loud, just people having a good time talking. I will definitely be back!

    Not really family style-portions way too small-but that’s ok, wasn’t looking for that type of service. Very loud until the crowd thinned out-could see that they put sound deadening panels in during the renovation but the noise level is up there when the windows are closed. Food was good, a couple people in my party were not overly impressed but a majority were. Service was excellent.

    Three of us enjoyed the food very much. Plates are to be shared, and we started with the carrot salad, an imaginative dish which was delicious, and Saganaki. The chicken Souvlaki came with two skewers of moist and tender chicken. The Beef Gyro platter was perfect for three servings and tasty. To say the noise level is energetic is an understatement. We could barely have a conversation, and all had to lean in over the table to try and hear each other speak which was frustrating!
