The rice wasn’t done all the way I asked for ginger dressing and got ranch The ginger sauce was nasty. Also when I set up reservations was asked if it was special occasion and I said it was a Brithday and no one ever paid that no mind never sang or nothing so what’s the point in putting that in the reservation. Also need good places for strollers

The hibachi was excellent. The chef was a terrific showman and very personable. We ordered the shrimp tempura appetizer, which also comes with tempura vegetables, and we had to send back the vegetables twice because they weren’t fully cooked.

They didn’t throw the food or make the volcano. Hardly any of the tricks we were used to seeing happened.

Overall, my experience at Kanki was good, and the food and service once we were seated were enjoyable. However, the check-in experience was very disappointing. I had originally made a reservation and called ahead to update the reservation to 11 people before arriving. I was sent a confirmation showing that the reservation had been updated to 11 people. When I arrived, the manager told me that he did not have my reservation for 11 people. What made the situation worse was his attitude toward me. He was rude, unwelcoming, and did not seem interested in helping resolve the issue. I understand that mistakes can happen with reservations, but I believe the situation could have been handled much more professionally and respectfully. Unfortunately, the way I was treated at check-in took away from what was otherwise a good experience.
