   Third time at Joe’s and probably our last. I love the ambiance and service but food was mediocre for the price. The lobster roll was just ok with not great bread and not enough lobster. The fries were not crunchy but rather soggy. Hate soggy fries. My son had the steak frites and said the steak was chewy even though it was cooked medium. Waiters were very attentive. The bill was close to $300 and not really worth it. I keep wanting to love the food but just don’t. Maybe the burgers are better? Haven’t tried it. Too bad!

   Rotisserie chicken was bland and not crispy. Oysters were not big and fleshy as advertised by wait staff. Rather skimpy.

   The food was delicious, however the waiter never brought us bread, but we noticed other tables received it, and he forgot to put in our appetizer. We did not see him until after our food came out.

    Joes is great for lunch & dinner but I wouldn’t go back for brunch. When I made the reservation, I asked in the notes of ‘special requests’ if we could sit upstairs at the high tables by the big windows. When I arrived, they said those tables were for parties of 4-5 even though a bunch of them were occupied by parties of 2 right in our face. When I asked why some tables were occupied by parties of 2, the hostess pretended not to hear me and walked us downstairs to our table so that was basically a straight lie. We didn’t make a big fuss and just ate downstairs where they sat us. The food was pretty bad. I got the classic American breakfast and was completely disappointed by the quality of the ‘chicken sausage.’ It was basically burnt beef jerky, which is what we jokingly called it as I struggled cutting into it. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they were simply not good. Not flavorful and pretty burnt. I won’t be going back for brunch but definitely lunch/dinner. Service from wait staff was totally fine.

    My omelette was really disappointing. There were no veggies in the veggie omelette, and there was a tiny dab of goat cheese on top, like the size of a nickel. It was the most sad $16 omelette ever. Our server was great, however. I think her name was Sydney.

    Took a teen son out to an event near Joe's. I was expecting a mediocre experience at Joes at best (being a chain) but it was really a surprise. No "chain restaurant" vibe. Very pretty interior and for such a large restaurant, noise level was completely manageable. Also, food was delightful surprise - way better steak tips than I've had even at more expensive restaurants. And the server was perfect, nice, efficient and everything on time. Would 100% recommend.

    Joes has quickly become a favorite for us to bring our out of town friends and family to. It has something for everyone and can always accommodate a group however large. We did make a reservation and we had to wait a little to be seated, but for a busy friday that’s understandable. Our server, Lily, was great and super attentive even with what looked like a full section!

    A really fun place to go in a great location. Staff was very friendly, responsive and helpful. Place was lively and clearly popular with locals. The four of us all devoured our meals — across the wide range of the menu. Pasta, chicken, steak, soups and salads were all well prepared. A great time. We sat in the restaurant but the bar with its massive glass windows looks very enjoyable as well.

    My party of 5 had two young adults with a rare metabolic disorder known as PKU. The diet is very restricted in protein and our waiter, Braden could not have been more amazing and accommodating! Not only did he work with us and the chef to create an outstanding dish for my daughter and her friend visiting from California, but the kitchen made use of the specially made low protein packaged pasta that we brought. Between the ‘special’ pasta dish and all the vegetarian flavorful options from the menu especially the Miso Brussel Sprouts, we had an awesome experience!! Can’t wait to tell all of our Bostonian friends that follow a low protein diet and we look forward to going back to Joe’s again, and again, and again!! Thank you Braden for a memorable experience- YOU ROCK!!! And thank you Joe’s on Newbury!!

    The food was fairly good (I should have ordered my burger differently, not the fault of Joe’s!). The ambience was great, was seated 10 minutes before our reservation, and the gluten free options are outstanding! I’ve been here many times and will be coming back!

    Brunch at Joe’s was exceptional. I had the lobster benedict which was excellent and my wife had the roasted vegetable omelet. Both came with potatoes which were some of the best I’ve ever had. Looking forward to returning!

    The noise level in there was so high, my ears are still ringing (and it’s the day after). Food is a good value and I’d return, but only if I can be seated in a quieter spot (if there is one).

    Went on a weekend trip to Boston and went to this place twice! Once at the bar and once for food. Overall, great drinks/atmosphere at the bar and really good food as well.
