   Been waiting for a special occasion, so for my wife’s birthday, we headed to HH. Were seated promptly and our server was attentive but not overtly friendly. We both had the prime rib, potato and salad (up charge for a salad). Our prime rib was very stringy and the flavor was no where close to our last visit to HH. Overall, we were disappointed in our dining experience.

   I was shocked about how poor the quality of the food was during this visit! We’ve always had a good experience with HH for years and it has definitely taken a turn for the worse. Our party of seven each had issue. Four of us ordered prime rib medium-rare and it was basically raw, impossible to cut, and had very little edible meat. Instead of the expected tender, mouthwatering cut we’ve come to love, we received chewy, stringy and, flavorless meat. The baked potatoes were not fully cooked through, the broccoli was not well cooked and just had some parmesan cheese sprinkled on it as an afterthought. Our chicken dish had a globby lump of cheese on top that made it unappetizing. In addition to our disappointing order, they no longer serve the twice-baked potatoes and steak soup that made them famous. The only item that seemed consistent/familiar was the rolls. Hardly worth the money or trouble! Needless to say, KC has so many great options for steak, we won’t be returning to the Hereford House, which is a shame.

   Been a fan for 25 years....last weekend was NOT good. Bottom line: Service was good, Strip Steak was awful, Salmon was real good, sides were good. Not sure what happened at Shawnee, KS location but quality of my steak was comparable to on sale grocery store cut. Bathrooms were awful, indicative of kitchen in most cases. Hope they correct quickly.

   The service was spectacular. We asked for a certain drink to be made and they made it! It wasn't one they made regularly. The food of course is always good. We had the bread pudding flambayed and it was awesome!

   Been coming to this location for over 15 years, and this time was not so good. The prime rib cut was very stringy, difficult to cut, and a bit cold. The waitress 'forgot' to bring some items my wife requested, and we ended up boxing up what we had to take home and reheat. Not typical, and for the 140+ for two, I would have expected better. We will try some other restaurants now.

    I had the 12 oz Ribeye which is normally very good. Not this time. It was very tough and didn’t have the good flavor it usually has. Almost wondered if I was eating Sirloin. Pretty disappointing for $48.

    Came in from Ohio to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. He wanted a place he could get a great steak. We didn’t want to have dress up, so we were looking for a casual place. He ordered the Kansas City Strip with Parmesan broccoli and garlic green beans. I ordered the salmon burger with fries. The most memorable food of the night is the fries. The steak was underwhelming and lack flavor. The garlic green beans had no garlic flavor whatsoever and the Parmesan broccoli tasted as if they used the bottled krafts parm. The salmon sandwich had no seasoning. The customer service was great, but food was not its best.

    First of all, I just want to say that I went online to make reservations for my husband’s birthday and we got put in a back corner. My father-in-law can’t hear very well so everything echoed really bad for him. Food wise was good I was not impressed with the prime rib stew. Don’t get me wrong. It was good, but there was hardly no meat no potatoes and no vegetables 😞 it was basically a soup with nothing else in it. Our waitress was wonderful. Just letting you know.

    My prime rib was delicious. My wife liked her surf and turf. Staff was great. The whole place needs to be updated, it feels old and dirty in there. As soon as a solid prime rib is just as close to me, I will probably not go anymore.

    I would not recommend sitting in a booth. Anybody that sits behind you just pounds into your back and it not delightful. I would suggest a table

    Went for a valentines meal with my wife. They sat us in the doorway across from the kitchen where everyone walked through. I finally had to ask to get water. I had to ask for steak knives after they left us with steaks and no knives. The steaks were decent, not great. My sides: sweet potatoe fries were over cooked, more like potatoe chips. Garlic butter green beans were too firm and not very garlicky. The cocktails were good. The bread pudding was good. Overall, not worth the $171.16 price for the food and 4 drinks.

    Our overall experience we rank a 2 of 10. I hadn't been to Hereford House in several years but thought we'd splurge a bit for a nice Valentines date weekend dinner out. Overall service was slow and unattentive to our basic needs like refills and a alcoholic drink order, which we never ended up making as the waitress never returned for it. The salads were good. The main dishes were not, fillet steak was tough and 'tendony'. Steaks had no flavor and were not seasoned from what we could tell very bland overall. Asparagus had very little flavor and was not seasoned, butter or oiled etc. Potatoes and lobster tail were pretty good though. The strawberry cheesecake from the Valentines special fell completely short of expectations. It is a dessert for two to share, but in reality isnt a 1/2 portion for one person. It was a slice of a strawberry not worthy of sharing and a dab of whipped creme adjacent to the store bought sliver of cheesecake. Taste was okay but far below what's needed for such an establishment. $108 pretax Valentines meal for two fell below expectations across the board, very dissatisfied.

    Service was so slow we had to get our dinner in to go boxes so we didn’t miss our movie. We’d been there an hour and a half and still waiting for meals. Artichoke spinach dip was awful, tasted like flour minuscule pieces of spinach.

    Had a reservation, didn’t get seated until 20 minutes after reservation time, didn’t get standard seating, only reason we got seated because I made a visit to the front desk to question what was going on.
