Goldfinch Tavern is a collaboration between Ethan Stowell and Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Named for the state bird of Washington, the American Goldfinch.

The upscale tavern pays homage to the city’s pioneer days, when taverns catered to lumberjacks and sailors alike, providing a place for travelers and locals to both socialize and conduct business, all while enjoying drinks and food.

    We went for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary . They prepared a special dessert for us and made us feel special. The food was prepared and presented perfectly and the staff were friendly and helpful. Altogether a great experience!

    Brunch was a huge disappointment. Although the food tasted ok, there were no garnishments or presentation. Simply an omelette and bowl of potatoes on a plate. And the omelette was missing some of the ingredients! It took 15 minutes to replace it by which time most people at the table had finished eating. Nothing special here except the view.

    It was wonderful to out on a Saturday night in downtown Seattle. We enjoyed a truly fabulous dinner, with excellent service, beginning to end! The pear/burrata was outstanding, followed by best burger/fries and sea bass split, topped off with exceptional cheesecake.

    Wonderful breakfast - eggs Benedict was great and the bagel with lox was very substantial. Bloody Mary was excellent were the fresh squeezed salty dogs. The high points were the trio of desserts. Wow. This place is a hidden gem in Seattle.

    I will use three words i never thought possible in conjunction with each other - Four Seasons & bargain Outstanding lunch - rare day off with my wife in the city Goldfinch chowder- substantial serving and very good Crab melt - triple layer sandwich like a crab club Cocktails- classic, no surprises, as they ought to be Service- Sylvia was wonderful Very happy we wandered in - and some seriously top notch restrooms

    The food is good but not great. At those prices I would hope for a bit more imaginative menu. We liked everything we ordered, but nothing was so good we wanted to come back. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was romantic.

    We've been to Goldfinch a few times. Great location and nice view of Elliott Bay. Yes, it's expensive but you should expect that at any premium city center location. Service was just OK. Timing from the kitchen was off during our last visit - still working on apps when the main course arrived. We've had desert each time and they look great, but lack flavor and need work.

    We were sitting at breakfast just this morning with out of town guests, and our discussion included what an AMAZING brunch experience we had at Goldfinch Tavern… our servers were so phenomenal, kind, attentive… food was excellent! We are hoping to take our visitors to brunch just tomorrow!!!

    Love it here but very disappointed. The cost of brunch went up which we understand but sadly the portions were half. The entree I got was one crab cake about the size of a 50 cent piece. Should have just ordered ala cart so we could get an actual portion. Food was very good. Just sad to spend $200 and stop get a cheese burger Service was very slow again but we caught up and ended up not being late this time. .

    We had the most amazing experience at Goldfinch Tavern. Everyone, from the service team to the valet at the front door was incredibly friendly and nice. The cocktails were expertly crafted, and the espresso martini was top-notch. I was incredibly impressed by the knowledge of the team, and how well they were able to pair food and drinks together. You also have the best view from the windows, and the manager Madi is great. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Seattle!

    The sommelier should have mentioned that the corkage was $50/bottle, seemingly the highest in Seattle. We two wine-loving couples would probably have elected to order cocktail and wine by the glass

    Service was fantastic, such a lovely server took good care of us and did not rush us but table had chips, spot on my glass and avocado toast with eggs Benny -tasteless. Egg bit underdone. Potato side with cheese super yum. Disappointed no yummy salad choice for brunch.

    Outstanding meal. Full disclosure I eat here often and had a few favorites on the old menu. This menu was updated and both guest and I remarked that the food was some of the best we had had in years. Our main meals were particularly good. Can't wait to go back and try some new things. Yes, the Goldfinch is a little pricey, but if you are looking for special food, you can't go wrong. Bravo....

    Seated at a window table by a pleasant hostess. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and personable. Food was delicious-all of it! Best go to for lunch or dinner before art museum visits!

    The waiter was not as attentive. We had to go get someone to go get him several times. They didn’t have tenderloins and some additive for a drink. Food was outstanding!

    Overwhelmingly disappointing experience. We chose this restaurant to enjoy a festive and fabulous New Year’s Eve celebration. The ambiance was as expected. Everything looked beautiful. We arrived for our 9:30 reservation and were seated reasonably promptly. Unfortunately, that was the extent of our positive experience. The restaurant was busy, as to be expected for such a holiday, however, something was most definitely awry. We sat at our table for at least 2.5 hours before our meal arrived. We rang in the New Year around the time our meal arrived. By that time, a few members of our party were so put off, they no longer had an appetite. On the other hand, I was so hungry, I was relieved to see our meal. The food was mediocre, at best. I was looking forward to the Duck Hash and, sadly, the predominant flavor was salt, same was true for the risotto. The bisque was flavorful but that was about it. It felt as though the overextended kitchen staff simply gave up and the food was flavored with their tears of frustration and ambivalent angst. This meal was not inexpensive, which, if the food was enjoyable or the experience, overall, was enjoyable, would be fine … neither was the case. Our waiter was professional and as attentive as possible, however, one waiter is simply not able to hold down the fort for an entire restaurant on one of the busiest days of the year. The waiter was considerate enough to acknowledge the poor experience and even extended a customer service gesture to adjust our bill. The gesture was welcome, however, if we are being fair, the restaurant did not deliver, the meal should have been comped. There is no way any party should wait in excess of 2 hours for a meal. That’s simply not how it works, especially not when engaging in a fine dining experience. In good conscience, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not dine here again. I was deeply embarrassed of my recommendation to our party and incredibly disappointed

    Went here for the NYE 3 course tasting menu and it was awful. Food was subpar. Service was terrible and very slow we had to wait 40mins to order from our waiter. They forgot to bring us the complimentary starters at the beginning of the meal and we had to ask after our second course what they were since every other table was getting them but us.
