   We often go out to dinner and always in the Grand Rapids area. 40 pearl is always at the top of our list! Service food and location are all great! It’s great for lunch or dinner for any occasion you can’t go wrong.

   We went to celebrate my husbands birthday 🥳. This was the perfect spot. We will definitely be back for many more visits. Food is excellent, service is on point.

   Dinner was amazing started with cheese curds and Brussels sprouts. Both wee outstanding. Both big enough to share Pan seared walleye was excellent. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the bartender who served my table was great- very excellent service and awesome food

    Overall it was good because of our server Josh was outstanding. The blue gill fish was not what we expected and a small amount. Definitely not worth the 28 dollars.

    First time at 40 Pearl. Excellent service and menu. Food was very good and a good solid wine selection. Appreciated the craft cocktails menu created by the bartender. Enjoyed supporting a local business and will go again.

    Hopefully this was an off night for this restaurant and not the norm. The whole evening seemed to be riddled with issues. Dishes were very slow to come out, some courses never came out, and some dishes were served different than ordered. No one seemed to even realize that they missed serving items that were ordered. When the mains were finally served every single one was room temperature. I presume they sat in the back for quite some time. It’s too bad, as many of the dishes had good flavor, but they were marred with the temperature issue. It’s going to be hard to consider returning as no one stepped up to proactively recover the multiple debacles after they were pointed out.

    We're from Indy and had Umphrey's Mcgee tix at 20 Monroe. We wanted a hotel and dinner reservations within walking distance of the theater so chose to dine at 40 Pearl. We are SO glad we chose well. Excellent choice! Josh was a great server and our dinner was excellent! I had the Farow Island salmon, which was delicious. Beautiful old building across the street that we enjoyed looking over through the window. It was a great evening!

    We had a lovely time, with good service and the food was delicious. Good drink options. The atmosphere was classy yet comfortable, however the temperature was very warm. Will be returning!

    Extraordinary experience. Wonderful cocktails from a skilled mixologist. The staff experience couldn’t have been better. The appetizers were great and topped off with a fantastic meal. Will be back.

    We were a party of 6 and tried a variety of apps, main dishes and desserts. Everything was great - the food was really fresh and high quality. Our service was very good, which is hard to do with a large party. The noise level is moderate - we were able to conduct conversations without any problems. The dining room is somewhat casual (bare wooden tables), but the glass ware and silver ware is all kind of fancy, making the ambiance very gourmet feeling. Our table was near the front door and, as it was a very cold night, there was a cold draft from time to time. If you are in another part of the dining room, you would not have that problem. I certaily recommend Forty Pearl.

    This may be my new favorite restaurant. We started with the Burrata and it was amazing. The whitefish soup was even better. Loved to see a great selection of n/a beer as well!

    Had a party of 4 and we all enjoyed our food and drinks. We also liked that everything on our plate was sourced from Michigan. Will definitely return Thanks Ashley for the great service!

    We had an excellent meal at Forty Pearl. As a person who’s lived near Grand Rapids my entire life I thought the menu was a great representation of what West Michigan has to offer. The Charcuterie board included generous portions and the smoked duck breast was incredible.

    Excellent food and well rounded menu. Something for everyone and all 4 people at our table were happy with their meals and apps. Walleye was very good, Soup and Salad was great. Venison burger and Perch were both very good. Would definitely return.

    Based on the online reviews, we were eager to try this restaurant, but were disappointed. The service was very good but many menu items were unavailable (at 7pm). We were left with very few menu choices and our food was delivered to the table cold. Sadly, a "one and done" experience for us.

    Excellent food, drinks and service. The walleye was fresh, loved the mustard sauce with it. Portions are just the right size, not oversized. We shared an amazing creme brulee with a honey comb on top, so good. I had the Whispering on the Garden cocktail also excellent. The wine list was extensive. Great service and atmosphere. I will definitely be back.
