   Very busy on a Saturday night. This was our first time there. Waited an hour for our food, no apology, no bread while we waited and no one checked in on us. That being said the food was excellent and at the end we received a complimentary dessert. So we will go back but hopefully they are able to improve on service.

   Our appetizers, avgolemono soup and zucchini chips with tzatziki sauce, were delicious. I tried one of the specials, lamb's neck, which was very good. My wife enjoyed her lamb shank which I helped her finish. We got dessert which was coconut cake with vanilla custard and honey. We enjoyed everything. This was our second visit and there will be many more.

   They were most accommodating allowing us to pick from either the lunch or dinner menu. It is a beautiful comfortable space and the food was terrific. Genuine Greek food.

   Everything from the food, to the presentation was outstanding. I had the lamp chops and they were done to perfection, my husband had the salmon and loved it. We had the ceaser salad also and the bread was so yummy too. A Greek honey style cake for dessert and all was perfect!

    When we got to the restaurant there wasn’t a table available for us so we decided to wait at the bar. Our bartender, Lizzie, was very charming and attractive as well as attentive so, we decided to have our dinner at the bar.

    We were greeted promptly with a smile. Service was well paced, we never felt rushed. My dining companion had grown up in Greece and said this was the best restaurant food she’s eaten! As a non Greek I would agree! The prices were comparable to other nice restaurants. Definite going back!

    Second time dining here was a wonderful as the first time. Both food and service were great. This time had the spinach pie and moussaka again, but also had the rainbow trout - - and I recommend all three of them.

    I was looking forward to dining here due to the very good reviews. Our server was obviously new & inexperienced, but he was trying hard to make our dining experience enjoyable which we recognized. The 3 of us ordered alcoholic beverages. The wine pour was less than 5 oz; bourbon was fine. Chicken kabob dinner was good, but small for the cost. Salmon was overdone; moussaka was good. We received complimentary samples of the sponge cake which was delicious. It was nice to see the restaurant was eventually full as the evening wore on, but the noise level increased to where we needed a raised voice to communicate for most of the meal. Would consider trying again due to the nice staff and ownership and the requirement to eat either outside on the patio or during non-peak hours due to the noise.

    Essentially no parking. Extremely loud inside. Didn’t have a table large enough to seat our party of 5 despite a reservation, so they put together 2 mismatched tables which made things awkward. Overpriced food, some was ok but some was pretty bad. Ordered wine and pour was barely the size of a tasting. Very rude owner insisted that the food was perfect and all of the dishes are big hits. Got angry and removed full plates of food from the table and still charged us for them. Would not ever go back

    Hidden gem in Gaithersburg If you love Greek food, this restaurant offers delicious food, great service and a lovely restaurant setting. We ate there for the first time this past week, for lunch and enjoyed grilled octopus, a Greek salad and a lamb sandwich. A must try

    We had an excellent first experience here! The service was phenomenal, the food and beverages were excellent, the plating was wonderful, all in a casual atmosphere. George, the owner, made sure every guest was taken care of well and that they enjoyed their meal. Everything is prepared so fresh here, and is so tasty. This restaurant is a phenomenal new addition to the local scene! Bravo!

    We have been twice but will return often!!! Starting with the warm pita bread with olive oil.....delicious. The drink selection was great- my husband loved the Greek beer, Fix was the name. The Dolmadakia (grape leaves) lightly drizzled with avgolemona sauce was divine. We shared the beet salad with goat cheese mousse......wanted more! The Chilean sea bass was flaky and delicious with the green been side and mashed potatoes. Everything tasted light and fresh and truly homemade! The dessert we are still dreaming of! Homemade Greek Christmas cookies called Melomakarona ....we even ordered some to bring home- they were THAT good! The coffee and espresso martini were a great finishing touch. The owner and chef made it a point to come to the table-interact and have a conversation...that is what made the night truly special. Making that connection wants us to return....and return....and spread the word to all!

    Food was incredible- lamb chops with potatoes and asparagus. Everything cooked perfectly. Chicken kabob with rice and green beans too. It’s a great upscale addition to this area. Menu was expansive so we will be back.

    Our first time at Ela Mesa Taste of Greece, and very pleased with our food and service. Everything came out quickly and hot. The restaurant's ambiance is very nice, without being too much as some other Greek restaurants are. I will be back and am looking forward to trying the stuffed grape leaves and Avgolemono soup.

    Thank you for an outstanding meal. Both the salad starter and roast lamb main dish were extremely flavorful - I was transported to the Mediterranean! There were generous portions of both dishes, great wine from Nemea, plus Ouzo to round out the evening. The staff were friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in sharing their knowledge of the food and drink. Ela Mesa will be a must-visit restaurant for me the next time I'm in the Gaithersburg area.

    Yay! Good Greek food closer to home! Our group of six had a great dinner! The staff was very helpful and attentive ... they were out of several things but that's not a shock these days. Three of us ordered the broccolini side but only one of us received it; other two got green beans for some reason? The grilled octopus was perfect as were the dips and pita. We all enjoyed the stuffed grape leaves as well. The Greek salad was yummy and the branzino was prepared to perfection and very flavorful. The sea bass was nice but the branzino was better. All of the desserts are worth the calories!

    First time at this newer Greek restaurant. Nice brightly lit dinning room that is well furnished and modern. Menu had a number of interesting choices and a few specials. We shared a Greek salad and hummus to start and our entrees were mussels and the chicken kabob. Everything was well prepared and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. Never felt rushed. We will be back.
