   We had a nice evening. Our orders were mixed up, and the server told us the oysters were “Wellfleet, from Maine.”☺️ Very poor acoustics but pretty room. Food was fine.

   Your menu has deteriorated. At one time there was coq du vin. Now only a rather dry chicken cutlet. At one time there was pate de fois gras. Now only a fois gras mousse. Once our favorite Cambridge restaurant. Now we will not return. Ask yourselves: Could a restaurant with such substitutes for French classics survive for even a month in Paris? Better to raise your prices if necessary to restore quality. Otherwise you will loose your best customers and fail to attract new ones. I wish you well--but only if you restore your former quality.

    Wish Colette were in our neighborhood. This little bistro is a find, located in a hotel on an unattractive stretch of Mass Ave near Porter Square/Cambridge. Entrance through the bar gives a less than promising first impression. Tables in the restaurant itself (behind the bar) are simple but attractive, as is the menu. We had the most expensive entree, steak frites... very reasonable @ $34 with good beef (sirloin tips?) cooked to order, crispy fries and some broccoli rabe which needed a few minutes more cooking. Lovely desserts. Total price about $100 with no beverages. Friendly but no-frills service including a server who literally spoke NO English but had a charming and eager smile. Very good value overall.

    It's a lot of fun to dine at Colette. Having lived in Paris for a year, I would say it's a fairly authentic French bistro. The food is very good (I had the cod entree last night). The cocktails and wine on offer are excellent. My only complaint is that Colette is a little pricey, but that won't stop me from going there again!

    We had a great time celebrating a retirement with our adult kids. Only complaint is that the noise level was extreme. 6 of us at a fairly small round table had to practically yell at each other to converse. Please look into fixing this with acoustic tiles on ceiling or something.

    Long story short, the food and drinks were fantastic, however the service was horrendous and for that reason I will not be returning. More in depth review below: We arrived at the restaurant and the hostess was very kind, offering us multiple options for tables. We were sat at 12:44. We did not get water for 10 minutes. It took 15 minutes for our server Victor to come over to us. This is when the issues began. We asked questions about the charcuterie board and what the daily selections were which our server struggled to recall-which is completely reasonable given the amount of meat and cheeses you could pick from. Without a written list of options, it was very difficult to make informed decisions. We put our order for drinks in at 12:58 (time courtesy of our receipt), at roughly 1:08 I noticed that our drinks were sitting at the service bar. Finally, after mentioning that we hadn’t received our drinks yet about 10 minutes later, our server grabs the two that have been sitting at 1:17. The server brings it over, blaming a back up at the bar for the wait-despite the fact we saw our drinks waiting for over 10 minutes. We both ordered the raspberry Bellini and it was fantastic! Very refreshing. Our charcuterie board arrives and was quite small given the price. The one biggest issue we had with the board was that it was served with walnuts. Luckily neither of us have a severe allergy to them, but nowhere on the menu did it list the walnuts and the server did not ask us for any allergies that we may have. Overall, the food and drink were great. The hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict was very flavorful and the espresso martini had a strong coffee flavor that was fantastic. However, despite the delicious food, I do not plan on returning to Colette because of the service we received.

    No maitre'd when we arrived. Waited 10 minutes then went to search for someone to seat us. Food was mediocre, service adequate, but not exceptional. It looked like they were understaffed for the first 45 minutes we were there. Food is expensive for what it is. Ambiance is nice and not too loud.

    Went there for a Valentines meal we had to reschedule to after Valentines. Disappointing experience. - food was bland. Both of us had to season ourselves at table. - restaurant was empty on a Sunday evening and we asked to sit in a booth. Waiter kindly let us, then he was overruled by manager and moved. I assumed they were due a rush (which I would have understood) but it never came. So the manager basically made an issue unnecessarily that impacted our experience negatively. - portions small for price. Spent over $100 on dinner for two and went home hungry.

    My boyfriend and I came to Collete for an anniversary dinner. We chose Collete especially because we wanted to a) ball out on a nice French meal but in a b) lively, not “stuffy” environment. We didn’t have any outright complaints about the service, ambience, or food per se—we just had anticipated more for the price range. The best thing about the meal by far were the oysters (great flavor). But the rest of the meal was just “good:” we had the French onion soup, foie gras mousse, steak frite, and short ribs paired with a wine. The short rib was really good but the vegetables were average. The onion soup and steak were good as well but not great. The foie gras mousse and it’s matching jelly were nice flavors but were too cold so it lost its creamy texture and was hard to spread. So our biggest take away was that it was good, but just wasn’t up to the value of $200+: We left thinking we might’ve actually had better luck at a “stuffy” French restaurant.

    I dined here on Valentines Day and only had the option to choose from a pre fixe menu. Fried Oyster soup appetizer seemed microwaved. It was cold one bite and warm the next, taste was okay. My steak and potatoes were very under seasoned, tender and cooked well but lukewarm when it arrived at the table and cold shortly after. The cocktail was too strong and could not taste any ingredient besides the alcohol. The meal was definitely not worth t the $75/person. I am unsure if I’ll be back to try the regular menu.

    So loud! And, service was disrupted due to a missing entree from the table. Pricey, and id I mention loud...? Could not hear our server talk. But over all it was fun, and a good quality of service and food. Long waits due to them I think being overwhelmed by the vibrant Saturday night crowd! I thought it would be more quiet and romantic, but really just like a loud restaurant. usually its more chill.

    While the main meal was delicious, problems began immediately. We were sat at a small table, crowded in by plants, too near two loud parties. Even without that seating, we think the restaurant would have been uncomfortably loud. At times it felt like we were at a sporting event with people yelling to be heard over each other. We ordered the cheese board which our waitperson told us came with three cheese and three meats; it came with two of each. The main meals were very good but we didn't stay for dessert given the noise. In retrospect, we probably should have left before ordering. Ask for a table near the entrance and the noise level might not be as bad.

    Great food, stag very pleasant and attentive. The noise level makes it almost impossible to here the person you trying have a nice dinner with. If they could soft the ambient noise level a hit it would be a much easier dinner!

    Unfortunately, we had a horrible dining experience at Collette on Sunday evening. We live in Cambridge, eat out frequently and have been going there since it opened. We have always loved the food and atmosphere, spent several birthdays , holidays and dinners there but the restaurant has changed. The server was unprofessional and had a very bad attitude and told us from the beginning we needed to be patient because there was a new bar tender. My husband ordered a vodka negroni which they got wrong and brought out another one 15 minutes after the first one but only after he complained. At this point he was finished his appetizer. The server told my husband "not to talk to her that way" but he had every right to ask where his drink was and what the problem was. He was not talking to her in a negative way. but was frustrated. They finally brought another drink which was not even close to a negroni-no Campari in it. Now my husband was actually getting upset-before he was calm. The server accused him of "being up in her face"- he was not, but he was upset and rightly so. The manager came over and instead of deescalating the situation, he totally escalated the situation. In all my years we have never been treated that way in a restaurant. And now my husband was angry. This is suppose to be a fine dining restaurant with professionals who understand the business and treat customers well. The server should not be in the business if she can't deal with basic issues that are the restaurant's fault and the manager has no skill whatever to deescalate the situation. We will never return and we will let people know about our experience and not to go anymore. We had a $150 gift certificate( because we loved the restaurant) but tore it up. We also had our 12 year old daughter with us and it was very upsetting for her- we had expected to go out for a great dinner and ended up in a fight with the server and manager and left the restaurant. Horrible experience. Sad.

    We went to Sunday brunch at Colette and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was perfectly fancy but not fussy, decorated with attention to detail from the soft pink chairs to the lighting, even the bar was nice to look at. The food was great. Perfect place for a fancy ladies brunch or a romantic morning.

    The food was not good. There was no seasoning on anything and my dish (braised short rib) was so dry it was amazing. Service was slow. Save your money.

    We were somewhat disappointed. Staff seemed disorganized, and the service was fairly slow. The food did not meet the standards that I had become accustomed to at the restaurant after several visits in the past. The cod that my companion had was over cooked and dry. My steak while good, we only local home. The same goes for my onion soup. I hope that they get their act together as it’s a wonderful place to go.

    We needed to be able to sit and talk long after finishing because we only get to see each other once a year. We weren’t rushed or pressured. The croissant basket is fabulous and the bacon perfection.
