   Lovely welcome but waiter at table mediocre. 20 minute wait for first cocktail . One of three dinners cold and had to be sent back to be reheated. Good starters and chips.

   Beautiful meal on Tuesday night with friends. We sampled a lot of menu items from nibbles, starters and mains which were all excellent. Drinks were also very good. Service was fantastic. Would recommend!

   Food is the let down here, Crab starter with Soda Bread - poor- no seasoning - water coming out of crab. Fish Special Hake was average and not of restaurant quality for price. Service attentive and good.

   Luke and his staff where brilliant, friendly, fun and helpful. The restaurant is lovely and a lovely atmosphere. The food options were great and very tasty. Will be back.

    We had a lovely dinner, food and staff were excellent. It was perhaps a bit rushed, there was not much downtime between courses, but other than that, could not fault it.

    Very nice evening for dinner with a friend. Atmosphere was lovely, not too loud but a good buzz about the place. Staff were all super friendly and the food was phenomenal! A bit pricey but we’ll worth it for a nice treat

    Waited over 25 minutes for our aperitif, first course arrived before we got it! Steak was tough, had same cut at The Ivy earlier in the week and it was excellent.

    We came from the states for a conference and had the best time here. The hostess was delightful, our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive and the food was not only beautiful but delicious! We left there "fat and happy". 😉

    Simple fresh food cooked well. Short menu but caters for meat fish and vegetarian eating diners Nice warm ambiance traditional decor without being old fashioned. Staff attentive and friendly.

    We had such a good meal - and experience that we went back a second time in our short stay! The staff were knowledgeable and helpful and the food was superb. We had the 'catch of the day' with the sauce on the side. Everything was truly wonderful. We are in Dublin frequently and this will be our go to restaurant. Thanks Luke et al.

    Nice restaurant with a good atmosphere. Staff friendly and polite. Service was OK if not a little slow. Especially the drinks service. Food was good. Everyone enjoy their dishes. My starter (baked scallops) wasn't great. Too much breadcrumbs which overpowered the scallops, which were completely lost. The seafood linguine was good. As was the fish & chips, roast chicken and kids burger. €240 including tip was just about OK for 4 people. I would eat here again.

    Service was good and friendly. There were 5 of us. Starters were good. Mains were very ordinary. Maybe our choices weren’t great (we all chose from The Grill menu) but definitely could have cooked the same at home, possibly better. It was expensive for what is was. No regrets about going but a bit disappointed.

    Really nice food, I had the scallops and the catch of the day which was Hake both lovely. Would have liked a bit more variety on the cheese board. Staff were friend and welcoming. Really enjoyed the evening.

    Chequer lane is a great place when wanting a meal out to celebrate. We went early into the night when it was less busy but you enjoyed it all the same. The service we received was excellent. My only gripe is how close the tables are to one another

    My €40 8oz Fillet steak was burnt and very dry. Others had fish and chips, no complaints but underwhelming. Overpriced for the quality. Disappointed really but staff were nice and restaurant was nice.
