   Everything was wonderful Our server was excellent and very nice. all the staff was very nice. The food was delicious and the portions were nicely sized And since we were going to the theater we got 20% off!

    Ambiance not cheerful. Windows face car port and cement walls. Room was dark. Food portions very tiny, not generous at all. Everyone in our party was still hungry after lunch. Described as "exceptional" in open table. It did not live up to that!

    My wife and I stayed at the Westin Gaslamp (inside which the Bronze Bird resides) for 3 nights during a business conference. On our first night, tired from travel and not wanting to venture out in the rain, we decided to have a light dinner at The Bronze Bird. We didn't expect a great deal because typically hotel restaurants are...well, hotel restaurants. We were surprised and delighted by the nice variety of menu choices, the delicious execution by the chefs, and the friendly and welcoming service. We liked the place so much, we ended up having dinner each night of our stay.

    We always go to Bronze Bird before the shows at Broadway San Diego. Food is fabulous, and we’ve never had a better server anywhere than Juan. Some shows are great, some not — but our dinners at Bronze Bird are always the best!

    Honestly, this place really tried to make everything fantastic. A smile although they were overworked. I could tell they were understaffed but working so incredibly hard with the absolute best attitude. Everyone who works there is excellent and does EVERY job. The food/service was slow because they literally were working as fast as they possibly could. I think it shows the sign of a new restaurant that wasn’t prepared for the last minute people who were to arrive along with those who also made reservations. I think it was likely a learning experience. The food was very much “okay”- but for the price- you couldn’t beat it. A great way to get a nice dinner for a very affordable price. Not many options like this out there - so when you put it all together it was a good experience overall!

    Came here to enjoy a NYE steak dinner with my partner. The special NYE dinner plates were great. We loved the mushroom bisque soup and the chocolate dessert the most. The steak had good flavor however was not a fan of the plating sauce or lobster tail, it was too chewy.

    Our service name was Ernie and he did a very nice job, including all of our special requests to add this and that. He made sure that Santa got a nice birthday dessert too! Everyone from the Hostess to the bartender, server, and Chef was very friendly. Five stars for the chef and staff for delivering six different entrées with six different proteins, all piping hot! I love that the bronze bird takes reservations and it’s close to the parking garage for the Balboa theater will be back.

    The Bronze Bird was welcoming, quiet, and a great place to have a date night. The service was fast and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. The spinach ravioli was cooked perfectly and the churros made as a dessert were perfectly fried with a decadent chocolate dipping sauce.

    Our server was wonderful, the hotel was busy but the restaurant was just those of us who either had been or was going to see Hamilton. We ordered the brisket tacos, the brussel sprouts and the watermelon salad. My husband and I shared them and enjoyed everything. The only slight disappointment was the watermelon was 3 disks of watermelon with some springs of something on top with the dressing a schmear on the side. Not really a salad but it was tasty. We finished with churros which were fresh and tasty. We will be back.

    We grabbed a quick bite before seeing a show at the Civic Theater. They offer 20% off of food if you visit before a show, which is a great perk. The brussel sprouts were delicious and our server was very kind and thoughtful

    We went here because we were going to a performance at Civic Theater. The food selection is very small. We shared a pizza. The food was okay don’t know if I would return because I didn’t like most of the food selection

    First time going to Bronze Bird. The bar area was noisy and crowded (in a good way). We had reservations and were taken to a much quieter area for our dinner. Seeing the outdoor fireplace added a nice touch as the decor is a bit stark, but nice. The service was outstanding. Juan was our waiter and went above and beyond - will ask for his area again. The food was excellent, although we only ordered appetizer type food. We got the Brussel Sprouts and the Charcuterie board. Both were very good - we would order those again. Nice variety of wine selections too. We will be back!

    This was my third dinner at the Bronze Bird. The setting was modern and uncluttered. Our server was extremely knowleable and efficient. The food was well prepared California cuisine. This is a great before or after theater dining spot.

    We had the pleasure of matinee, theater tickets at SD Civic Center. Bronze Bird was convenient to theater parking and performance venue. Under a 5 minute walk. Friendly staff and menu variety.

    Had breakfast. Terrible. Had 2 eggs over medium, came out well, well, done. Service good. Bacon needs to be cooked more, but seems like that in every hotel

    Had friends in from out-of-town for ComicCon, and needed to quickly pick a place and make reservations for a breakfast meet-up. The staff at Bronze Bird greeted us, pulled up our reservation, seated us immediately, and were very attentive. The food was great, and they didn't rush us. It was the perfect place to reconnect with old friends.

    Restaurant is just off the lobby of Westin Gaslamp. A large, sit down bar area adjoins the restaurant table area. It can get busy and loud. If looking for a quiet dinner, ask for an outside table or one in the far corner. Very convenient if staying at the Westin. Staff is attentive and friendly. Food quality and portions are good.
