   The wine and food experiences are just wonderful. We might not love all the wines (1 or 2 might not be to our palate) but the food is exceptional (thank you Amit)…it is always MAGNIFICENT as is the service. In our humble opinion, you cannot go wrong at Braddon Merchant, nor the Midnight Bar. Simply perfect!

   We have always enjoyed the previous arrangement where one could order a two or three course meal for a set price. We found the change to the menu disappointing. However, there were plenty of options and those that we chose we enjoyed. The service was excellent in some regards, and poor in others. One waitperson leaned across in front of other diners to place a plate on the table. This is a basic flaw that should not occur. This person was also perfunctory when asking about any allergies. This is a pity as I have been served by them before and found them very pleasant and helpful. The other two waiters were very diligent. Another glitch was rectified quickly when our salad did not arrive. The seating outside was lovely. This was the first occasion on which we had the option of doing so, it would be good to have this option clear when booking. Braddon Merchant remains on my list of restaurants that I am happy to return to.

   Dining solo while staying at the Midnight Hotel, thought I’d avail myself of their in-house restaurant after having had an excellent coffee & breakfast there. I was most impressed - extensive wine list, expert recommendations, attentive service & superb menu choices! Chose the 2 course option with additional oysters as an entree. Fresh fabulous cuisine all round. Will definitely be bringing family back to join the fun!

   Our party of three enjoyed our meal at Braddon Merchant. Each dish was fresh and flavoursome; we shared three entrees and three mains. The wine list - expansive - was stocked with excellent wines at a healthy range of price-points. We'd definitely come back!

    Great service, nicely presented yummy food, beautiful ambience! Lachlan and staff made my birthday experience extra special with the food and wine suggestions and the warm hospitality. Certainly going back again soon!

    Silver service attention to detail and quality of food, including presentation. The staff were exceptional, which was a significant factor contributing to our return visit. I am pleased to say we were not disappointed. The pairing of wines to dishes by Mya (sp) was astonishing and we were pleasantly surprised and appreciative of her recommendations. The front and back of house teams created a brilliant combination to underpin a fantastic night catching up with a mate. We will be back again for sure.

    The menu was really interesting and the food fantastic - great value (set prices for 2 or 3 courses). The staff were friendly and attentive even though it was fairly busy (it was Saturday evening). The wine list is extensive and the staff were very generous with their knowledge of their wines and pairings with food. Will definitely return for another date night!

    Once again, a top notch night! The North American wines were delicious and the food was excellent. Only exception was the cheese and apple pie for dessert; not my cup of tea, and the only time we haven’t loved every course!

    Fabulous table and wine service from Lachlan. Elegant, delicious, unpretentious high quality cuisine. Impressive wine list and food pairing. Casual, classy, airy surrounds. Thoroughly recommend.

    The food and service at Braddon Merchant was excellent - we're both gluten-free (by necessity) and vegan (by preference) and the menu had options that had us covered that were very tasty. The ambience was great as well.

    An absolutely amazing dining experience. The food was delicious and the service was 11 out of 10. Maya our host was right on point with her knowledgeable wine pairing and friendly yet highly professional demeanor. She really did top it off. Zucchini flowers and romesco sauce. Perfect. Scallops were an interesting mix however beautiful. The wagyu steak was divine, the duck was delicious. Desserts were excellent as well. Couldn't fault the food, service and whole experience. Highly recommend this lovely little gem. We will definitely be back!

    The swordfish was the smallest main meal I have ever been served. Absolute rip off for the price The chairs are absolutely awful. So uncomfortable. The breakfast choice was poor and was delivered all over the place. A light breakfast of fruit or the like would have been an added value.

    This is a surprisingly good restaurant. It is a quiet setting in the base of the Midnight Hotel but the cuisine is way ahead of most hotel restaurants and should be seen in a different light. Good seafood, steak, duck and pasta options and an extensive wine list. All around good value.

    Another wonderful Wine Club evening! The food was excellent and the wine pairings were truly wonderful, especially tasting amazing wines from the Burgundy and Bordeaux regions, with great commentary from the importer. It is always a pleasure to dine at Braddon Merchant, as Genessis and her staff are brilliant, and the experience is never remotely disappointing!

    first time visitor. had the zucchini flowers and the Hanger steak with Cafe De Paris sauce. both were very tasty and well cooked and presented. wines were great too. highly recommend

    Somewhat limited breakfast menu, but very customisable with extras and sides. Love their ‘proper’ poached eggs, rye and sourdough bread. Dinner is always good; especially the ‘Braddon Merchant Experience’. Coffee and wines are great and the service is excellent, due to the delightful F&B manager.

    Disappointed- menu so limited and food was pretty ordinary Staff very slow in getting drinks Also couldn’t explain what celeriac schnitzel was - still don’t know Maître de was very unfriendly Not sure why this is highly recommended Also what high quality restaurant asks you to order dessert before you have even eaten main

    For our evening meal we had the chef’s choice selection from their share menu. The meal was nicely spaced, beautifully presented from an eclectic selection of cultures, tastes and textures. We sat outside by ourselves, a bit away from the indoor bustle and noise and never felt forgotten. The staff were attentive, chatty and gracious in looking after us. We’ll be back again soon.
