Bobby Van's Grill Times Square
The veal Parm was great! the scallops were also tops. good wine selection by the glass. great neighborhood spot off of Time Square
Having dined at other Bobby Van’s I was expecting better. Went there for a pre Broadway dinner. Knowing that this was a newer restaurant, I was expecting something special and was looking forward to it. The restaurant space and ambiance is underwhelming at best. It’s cramped and tight and there is absolutely nothing special about it. At least 1 to 2 rungs under what would be expected. For a 6pm reservation in the middle of July the restaurant air was far from cool, refreshing and circulating. The heat in the restrooms was sweltering. Sat for at least 10 minutes before a waiter even acknowledged we were there. The food was good but not great. The prices were as high as I think is legal in NYC. Having said that it was the perfect place to have dinner as a prelude to the July 13th black out of 2019.
We had a wonderful pre-Broadway show dinner. The steak was delicious, service was attentive, and classy environment.
Myself and my Granddaughter who was in a wheelchair went to Bobby Vans where we had great service to be seated, great food service and great food - no complaints and would heartily recommend.
Great restaurant in that the decor is to my taste, the waiters look smart and were very attentive and friendly. Food was superb.
Having a couples dinner before a show. Ordered an old fashioned, it was not drinkable. Mentioned it to the waiter, charged me for my replacement drink- unacceptable! For the price point of the meal, a subpar experience.
Upstairs seating is weird (no ambiance). Waitress was terrible. Slow to return to table, stood by the kitchen door talking to a guy most of the time. Steak was not flavorful at all, very boring. Definitely will never return.
Great time and awesome food. Definitely will return on our next NYC visit.
Ambiente raffinato ed elegante.
Camerieri gentili e disponibili, Sergio è stato davvero eccezionale.
Il cibo è di ottima qualità, compreso il pane servito caldo.
Great food. Friendly and efficient service. A great standby. Always consistently good.
Great food and service. Beautiful restaurant near Times Square. Accommodated us when we asked to sit on the main floor instead of upstairs. My 90 year old mother would have had a difficult time with all the stairs. Everything we ordered was delicious. Calamari, crispy artichoke salad, shrimp scampi, all wonderful. Our server couldn't have been better. He put a rush on our orders so that we could make it to the show on time. Highly recommend.
Excellent food. Excellent service. I wish I could give them 6 stars!
We are here on high recommendation of a friend. But to start off, we've been in many steakhouses in NYC, NJ, CA, IN, etc. and are comparing this with some of the beat ones. Honestly, we were disappointed. The steak was nothing to brag about. At best I would rate it average compare to Gallaghers for example. Prices are reasonable. Service was good but nothing of excellence. Juat average.
The food was excellent the steaks are cooked perfect considering we had seven people and most ordered the steak all the steaks were done the way we asked service was fine very enjoyable time
Always excellent for business lunch. They do an excellent job with scallops, fish.... not just a steakhouse.
Service was fine but the food was poor. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs and shrimp pasta. The meatballs were cold and tasted of cheese. The shrimp pasta was bland.
My wife and I were in town from Washington DC and we're able to reserve a table outside for us and another couple from Brooklyn. The service was amazing and the food was even better.
Great service, great food. Attentive staff. Sitting outside was the place to be.
This was nothing special. It is however, very convenient to theater shows--so that is why we went there. The servers were very nice and the food was good--just nothing you cannot get in lots of other places.
The fresh mozzarella salad is very good
Good selection of wine by the glass
We showed up early and were taken in right away. We ordered filet mignon and it was delicious. The asparagus were stringy and tasteless. The mashed potatoes were bland. After our waiter took our order and brought the food, he ignored us for most of the meal. We would have liked a second glass of wine but no one was available to talk to. We ordered a pecan fudge cake for dessert and it was lovely. The cost for 2 people with wine and dessert was over $200. Although we came for steak and did enjoy it, the other aspects of the meal left quite a bit to be desired. I would be happy to pay $200 for a truly exceptional steak dinner but left disappointed.
Inadequate service. Server forgot drink order and side order until he had to be reminded. Drinks came after our food. Fatty steaks undercooked. Ordered dessert and coffee. Coffee arrived after dessert and was cold , clearly the last batch. Had to ask for the check multiple times. Server had more important things to do like joking around and playing games back in the kitchen. Head server tried to cover for terrible server but was visibility upset with subpar server in front of us, very uncomfortable. All of this occurred from 6:00- 7:30 with only 3 other tables seated around us. Would not recommend. Terrible start to a visit to nyc.
Good food and service.
Decided to stop at the Times Square "satellite" location vs. walking up to 50th Street locations where we have eaten many times - food was okay/close to "full" restaurant but just not up to Bobby Van's standards set at the other locations....but great if you don't try to compare....and close to the theatre district.
i am from Houston and I found the food in New York to be average at best, however, very expensive.
I am sure the prices are because of location, location, location
Great food with fantastic service
Other than the “bar” drinks being way over priced, thoroughly enjoyed everything about our visit. Service was top notch, food excellent, portions better than other high end restaurants and moderately priced. Looking forward to going again. Highly recommend Bobby Van’s.
Didn't get anything fancy. Order the beef nachos as appetizer and a couple of burgers for dinner. Overall was good. Our server was pretty great he got us everything we wanted and very nice.
Sub par food at a high cost. You can find much better restaurants at this price range
This was our 2nd time at Bobby Van’s and it wasn’t one to brag about. The service was excellent. We decided to pick the theatre menu. Price was right and it sounded good.
I didn’t realize a salad is considered an appetizer. We went with the Cesar and it wasn’t bad.
Filets for dinner. It was one of the worst filet mignons we have both every experienced. Filets aren’t suppose to be full of fat. Both steaks had fat and was disappointed.
Sides were ok. French fries? If that’s what they offer, it is what it is.
Desserts were good. Drinks super expensive. NYC prices.
Better food at Morton’s.
We will NOT be returning.
Late dinner on a slow night in the city. Very solid meal and a great restaurant.
The menu is very extensive ranging from meat to fish, however the prices are very high for the food served
The ambiance was awful. No table clothes - eating off of Formica! It felt like I was at Red Lobster in that the ambiance and atmosphere was okay. Not what you would expect from one of NY’s better steak houses. I like Res Lobster and would not have minded if I was paying Res Lobster prices. So in sum - the food was good, ambiance terrible and service off. The waiter could not even stand still to take our order. The bread was also awful. Extremely disappointed.
Restaurant location was great for our trip and really wanted to give it a try. We got a great table on the second floor but the whole experience was lack luster. My party liked their $24 burgers but my steak had no flavor what so ever for the $50 spent. Waiter was fine. Don't see us returning.
this was stupid, was going on a groupon that i got as a gift. made the reservation on line. then thought about it and called and asked about the groupon, was it blacked out at certain times? are they accepted there? was told no problem only to go there and find out they are not accepted there. I live closer to the downtown one anyway. frustrating. once the problem was discovered, the maitre'd was very considerate about getting us in at broad street. that meal was outstanding
Always great service and amazing food and wine!!
Will come back again soon!
Burgers were top quality and delicious. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for!!
Great pre-Broadway show restaurant. Near all of the stages. Calamari appetizer was lightly breaded and fresh.
Will return at anytime.
Great as always
My steak was fatty though. Waiter was great Giuseppe
Great table private as requested
Artichoke salad excellent
