Located a few steps from Saint Mark’s Square and from the Rialto Bridge, Bistrot de Venise is one of the Top Rated Restaurants in town, well known for our menus, an extensive research on the history of Venetian Cuisine from its noble origins to the present time and for the large variety of selected rare wines from the Veneto Region and the Italy.
A team of qualified and dynamic Sommelier presents the products thought specifically for each tasting and makes our wine bar one of the most important in Venice. Wines and the best of the Italian Olive oil production to take away or to deliver.

For private events, family celebrations, weddings, we also offer a smart and exclusive location, our Residenza Bistrot de Venise (6 to 20 guests).
A magnificent '700-style living room overlooking the canal with serenading gondoliers, baroque background music, free Wi-Fi and balconies. Our Restaurant takes care of the catering. The Chef, Maître and Sommelier will be at your service during the meal.

    This restaurant tries hard, but does not really make it happen. The service was outstanding, but service alone will only take you so far. When we booked the reservation, we were given two options: the “romantic” dinner and a more expensive option. We chose the romantic dinner, which turns out to include a special red table cloth, a single red rose and fake diamonds and rose petals littering the table. It was rather silly. The dinner was a fixed price three course meal. The restaurant tried to employ the practices you see at a michelin star restaurant such as giving you an amous boushe to start. But the effort fell flat because the food simply wasn’t that good. For both of us, the fare seemed quite middling and bland, despite decent presentation. We had a decent bottle of wine at 180€ but still felt the 450€ price for the dinner was exorbitant. If you want Michelin level dinner in Venice, I would recommend that you go to a Michelin star restaurant and not here.

    For a foodie tourist, this is a rare find. Close to St Mark’s Square, yet in a quiet alley. The restaurant extrudes history and tradition. The menu has both historical and modern sections. We had a raw giant prawn from Sicily that a top Japanese restaurant would be proud to serve as sashimi or sushi, sweet and sour shrimp that has wonderful texture and mixture of tastes, traditional beef tongue with a lot of interesting garnishes; pasta with a concentrated seafood sauce, smoked eel with crispy skin, and duck breast (probably the least interesting dish but still good). The ingredients are all from Italy and very fresh. The chefs teases with a lot of tantalizing sides for each main course. Wine is quite cheap and service is top notch. A really surprisingly wonderful experience.

    The weather was perfect and the outside atmosphere was great. The alley was cute and quiet. We ordered a nice bottle of wine and the sommelier had a great presentation and method of letting the wine breathe. Also great staff and very unique options on the menu if you wished to try older recipes from Venice. Great restaurant and experience!

    Dear Anonimo, we do not know what happened with your food, we always do the same way the same dishes and the same prices!...we understand that some people might not match our taste but orrendous food it's a heavy opinion. Hopefully 97 % of our American guests judge the food to be of excellent quality.     Excellent meal. 2 of us had 4 course menu of traditional Venetian dishes. Recommend. Not cheap but value high. Up to that point we had OK meals in Venice but pretty not outstanding. This was a great experience.

    It is sure an interesting dining experience, and they have dishes that originated in the 16 and 17th centuries. Beautiful and peaceful environment. Each course is 100% Venetian, and our waiter Dado was outstanding. He gave a brief description of each dish. This is a "must go" restaurant.

    What a wonderful night we had at Bistrot de Venise. Our server, I believe his name was Dado, was excellent… pleasant, efficient, and helpful… couldn’t ask for more! We had a beautiful round table for five and could watch the gondolas float past our window…perfect! One of my friends had the five course pre-fixed meal w wine pairings, which she said was excellent, with the exception of the duck being a little tough. The filet mignon option was fabulous. I will order it the next time!! On this visit, I had the ravioli, which was also very good. All of the desserts were out of this world and magnificently presented. Thanks for a great night!

    Very small portions, not as advertised and poor value. The pasta dish with a local canoce crayfish had just a very small piece of 1 such canoce. The fish dish served was also tiny and not very good.

    Service is so important - let me tell you how outstanding the service was at this restaurant. Emanuele was incredible. Super helpful and always smiling. The food was very nice - preferred some dishes over others but definitely worth a try. It is quite the experience. Thank you for making my fiance's birthday one to remember.
