We brought a group of 19 people from the Sunshine Coast for the Dine-Out Vancouver experience. We all had a great time. Food and service were exceptional.

A single scallop for the appetizer was pretty measly, and the mayonnaise drops for dressing were amateurish. Beef shank was good but, again, portion was very small. Cheesecake dessert was spectacular, but this could have been half the size.

Bay Moorings disappointed on every level. A group of 4 gathering for a Friday evening gathering to kick off Dine Out Vancouver week. I have been to this restaurant many times over the last couple decades under prior management. From the minute I walked in I knew it had lost its vibe. Brightly lit ... definitely not an ambient dinner evening. Service was amateur. The waiter wanted to take our orders as soon as we sat down. I ordered a glass of wine, which he forgot. Dishes were cleared before everyone was finished eating (pet peeve....please restauranteurs...train your staff! This is simply rude!). Food was supremely disappointing, except for the squash soup. Friends ordered the scallop appetizer. ONE scallop. It was laughable. Tasty, but laughable. My rolled salmon tasted bland, like canned salmon pressed and rolled with a ribbon of zucchini. Desserts of tiramisu, aka chocolate cake with some cream, and panna cotta, aka gelatinous vanilla cream were meant a quick ending to the meal. Could not wait to leave. I may come and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck in the summer, but I will not return to dine.

A lovely waterfront restaurant with great views and delicious food. The staff are also excellent.

Bay Moorings always has great food, both with new owner Danilo and former owner, Gus. This was no exception. However, on this occasion we had a trainee waiter and his trainer did not seem to be watching what he was not doing. We had to ask after 35 mins to bring the bread and salad; when the meals arrived he put in the wrong order for one of us, which meant two of us ate slowly while the third finished up their salad and bread, slowly, until the correct meal arrived. When the glasses of wine came, the little carafes were put beside each glass ... but no attempt to pour for us or ask us how the wine was. So, a little more training for this waiter and then his table service can match the excellent food experience .

Sitting on an outdoor deck one storey up and looking over the bay where ferries dock was very pleasant. I was very favourably impressed that my meal was served on a very hot plate, an absolute necessity for an outdoor meal in my opinion. The beer was good, too. RR

Poor service. Mediocre food. Shouldn't have to wait an hour for 4 sliders and 4 wraps.

We went to the restaurant 20 mins early. The waitress didn't tell us that our reservations was ok to sit down she just brought us to our table and served us tea. Then we waited 45 mins before they served us our high tea pastry. Very bad service and no communication

Planned to enjoy high-tea but upon arrival, found out you needed to give a 24-hour notice for the kitchen to make. This was not indicated anywhere on their website, and if there is an option to make reservations online, this should be noted somewhere. They didn't have the drink I wanted as they were out of stock - drinks weren't bad, food was okay as we had to either leave or stay and have food from their main menu. Service was SO slow - I am not the type to complain about that, but it took awhile for our server to come get our order. We were in the middle of the restaurant and the other server offered to take our order but our server said she had it. I felt it wasn't a big deal for her to say yes since she had so many other tables. She wasn't friendly and was very to the point - there was no hello my name is, just went straight to what will you have.
