   We were there an hour and only had one drink because we never got a chance to order another or order dinner as planned. Way too few waitresses, it was way way too loud, and we love live music. Had to leave to go get dinner elsewhere & they charged us incorrectly $77.00 for our two drinks!!! Now we have to deal with getting that corrected. We were hoping to find a fun neighborhood bar but it was a frustrating DISASTER!!!

   The 1 and 2 star ratings are not deserved. Our food was good, the service was good, and the ambiance was great. They had a real nice solo guitar performer and wasn’t overly loud. The 4 instead of 5 stars on food is because the salad came somewhat warm and wilted. Rest of the food was good. Will go again

   First time at this restaurant since it opened in a great venue, which has housed many businesses since changing from its status as a church. Salmon with lobster sauce was outstanding; my date ordered the shrimp cous cous, which was good but not amazing. No bread service, which is disappointing, particularly when you have to wait quite a while for your food. Our server Judon was delightful and tried to keep us updated on our food prep. Apparently a couple of cooks didn't show up that evening and the place was packed. We totally understand there is still a shortage of good help for restaurants so we were pretty patient, but starving by the time we got our meal....bread would have helped :)

   Wonderful service from Joey and Alex. From previous visits during Happy Hour we anticipated food from the full menu would be good but the Filet and Salmon we ordered totally exceeded our expectation. Salmon was cooked to perfection and the steak was buttery tender. Best dinner we have had in a LONG time. We will definitely be back again as we would rate it above even some of the higher priced steak houses we typically go to, Great job Aspens!

   This was our first time at Aspen and we really enjoyed it. We had the Cajun pasta and the shrimp risotto. Both were very good. Our server was super busy, but he did a great job as well.

   This was my first time at Aspen and it was horrible. The cheesy bread app was cold in the center and cheese wasn’t melted. It took nearly 2 hours to get our food. Our sever told us it was on the way but it wasn’t. Then we were told there were new employees - in training and the server blames the kitchen why it was delayed. A person we thought was the manager finally showed up at our table and said they would comp the dinner. When the dinner arrived one entree - the baked chicken was a very small portion of meat. A chicken wing and small thigh. When we left we were stopped by a young lady that asked if we had paid and we said no but left a tip, because we were told by our sever and the man we assumed was the manager it was comp’d. She said she was the manager and didn’t know anything about it. A bigger problem - where had she been all evening? We hadn’t see her at all while we were at our table waiting for most of the time. Wow! She offered a gift card as we left. NO THANKS!!

    Nice choice of items on the menu. Our food arrived quickly and hot. We enjoyed our meals; and our server was attentive and fun. It is worth another visit. The only negative was it was cool in the restaurant. Be sure to dress warmly.

    We tried Aspen’s during restaurant week. We had excellent service and very good food. The ambiance is very nice and they even have games you can play which my daughter loved.

    Service was very slow Had to tell the server several times what we ordered. Received my salad and our drinks after I was done with the main course. Music was so loud that we couldn’t talk to each other.

    The appearance is super cute/trendy, they had fun board games for us to play while we waited for our drinks & food and live music. Bang Bang shrimp are huge & delicious, so was the Lobster Club. My only complaint was the waiting...we waited at least 15-20 min before anyone even came to our table, another 10 minutes for water, another 30 min for our actual drinks, another 30 min for our appetizer and then another 30-45 min for our actual meal. They seamed a bit unorganized as they tried to deliver us 2 items that we didn't order. But, I'd give them a 2nd chance :-)

    Terrible experience! I had made a reservation for 7:00 pm on Friday evening. When we arrived to the restaurant, the hostess told us they were running behind about 15 minutes and invited us to take a seat at the bar. We gladly went to the bar for a pre-dinner drink. As we sat there the two bartenders passed back-and-forth in front of us, never acknowledging us until about 15 minutes later, while dirty drinks and napkins from the previous people remained on the bar top in front of us. When we finally placed our drink order we asked the bartender to take our credit card and close out our tab immediately because we expected our table would be ready soon. He did not take our credit card and we waited for our drinks. Another 20 minutes went by and we still had not received our drinks nor had we been told our table was ready. After waiting 45 minutes total without being served anything and not getting a table, we decided to leave. I stopped back at the hostess stand to let her know that we were leaving but she was nowhere in sight. We also experienced the bartender being rude to the customers next to us while we are waiting at the bar. They kindly tried to check on their food order. The bartender told them that wasn’t his job and that they had food runners. So I guess it’s the customers job to track down food runners and ask them about their food order at this restaurant… as my friend and I decided to leave and were putting on our coats, then the bartender finally decided to acknowledge us. I told him, “Sorry, we’ve waited way too long. We’re leaving.” He acted annoyed instead of apologetic.

    We visited for restaurant week, as we’d been wanting to try this spot. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived. But all faces were friendly. They were apologetic as they were a bit behind in getting reservations seated, but within 5 minutes we had a table. The decor is fun and engaging! A bit different than most JoCo restaurants, I loved the deep blue colors and the whimsy! The menu was amazing, three courses for $20! When we were seared, the hostess let us know that we needed to allow about 15-20 minutes for each course. We appreciated that, as usually, places seem to bring courses close together to get the table turned. We both ordered and, bang shrimp for our starter. Presentation was on point, the shrimp was crunchy and flavorful and the sauce had a delicious sweet spicy taste. For mains, I ordered the 1/2 Buffalo chicken sandwich on brioche with fries and my husband ordered the lobster avocado club on a split roll with fries. We both loved the sandwiches, fries were cooked perfectly and the ingredients in the sandwiches were fresh and perfectly balanced. Our dessert choices were white chocolate bread pudding, and lave cake with ice cream. The perfect ending to an amazing meal. We didn’t check out the cocktail menu as we did have an appointment following our lunch but we will certainly return to this jewel of a restaurant!

    Came here for KC restaurant week and loved it! Highly recommended the bang bang shrimp. Service was a little slow, but I think they just weren’t prepared for the amount of people. The workers were very kind and fun. Would for sure come back !!

    Visited for restaurant week. We had decided to come to try the brunch, but unfortunately it was canceled on our visit due to staffing. We were pretty bummed because that why we came. We went ahead and got the #KCRestaurantweek lunch menu. Very delicious all around from the appetizer to the dessert. It's a very fun lounge vibe with cool decor and seating. Service was good. Overall we very much enjoyed our visit!

    The "hostess" actually set down some dirty plates on the edge of our table - granted our table for 2 would have seated 4 and it was only temporarily , but seemed very unprofessional. Our meals did not come out at the same time.

    We dined here for restaurant week. They were very short-staffed and our waiter (a bartender) did the best he could, but bottom line, the service wasn’t good. From when seated, it took almost an hour and a half to get our food. We finished our first drinks before getting our appetizer. My calamari was cold when I got it. I ordered the 6 oz filet…it was maybe 4 oz. It was ok. The lava cakes for dessert were ok. Not completely cooked to “lava” state. The seating is odd. We were at a high top table at the bar, but the chairs were counter height. I’m not that tall and don’t like to have my food at chest level. There was a band, and midway through our meal, a couple with two small kids were “seated” at the high top next to us. They weren’t eating, just drinks. The kids got in and out of their chairs a half dozen times and the dad stood the entire time they were there. It is uncomfortable to be seated for a nice meal and have people hovering over you and bumping your chair. Don’t seat people to dine when you have people standing to watch the band. On a positive, our drinks were good and the singer was good. Overall, we were there 3 hrs and left as soon as we finished dessert and paid our bill. Not great for two $50 meals. I hope they can hire some people soon.

    We went for restaurant week, and it was not a place we would like to visit again. We got there a few minutes before our reservation, and we stood for about 10 minutes before being seated. After being seated, there was an additional 15 minute wait for us to even order! Our first course took about 25 minutes, and gradually we were hungry but we stayed because most of the food looked good online. When our first course finally came, we ate, then waited an additional 30 minutes for our main meals. When the food came, we had even more distress. The fries were cold, and my daughters pasta had a peanut taste, that made her unable to eat it. We asked the waiter, and they replied saying there is no peanuts, but there definitely was, and if your allergic, don’t try the Alfredo! Overall, the food was not worth the wait. The ambience was satisfactory, but the music they played was very loud, so if you do enjoy loud music, you may like that!

    I understand it's restaurant week & I blame the management on the short staff. It didn't start off well when we were seated in the back of the restaurant across from the men's restroom and could see straight in. We waited for 1.5 hours to receive the appetizer & only was given 3 out of 4 at the same time! I was ready to leave after 30 minutes but wanted to give them a chance. Batter was really thick on the bangbang shrimp & calamari was over cooked. Once we received our sandwiches they were lack luster & only half a sandwich. This is not advertised on the menu for restaurant week. We finally had to go find the waitress because she was running around crazy and never came back to check on us. Had to get our desserts to go because I had to get my daughter home for work. When we got the check, they charged us for 5 restaurant week meals when we only ordered 4. Had to go find the manager to get this corrected, which just took even longer! He did give us a $30 gift card but to be honest, I don't think we will go back! We felt horrible for the waitress because this restaurant set her up for failure. Worst experience we have ever had!

    Whoever chose the table and seating configuration has never been in a restaurant. Horrible! The music was loud techno music that was very awkward for the type of restaurant. The waitress obviously had no training about the menu, and couldn’t explain items without “checking”. High hopes turned out to be very disappointing.

    It was restaurant week so we ordered off the special menu. Bang bang shrimp had great flavor but was only slightly warm. I ordered the lobster sandwich and again while it had a nice flavor I looked under the bread and found 4 pieces of lobster each the size of a dime on my whole 1/2 sandwich, there was more bacon than lobster and the fries were ice cold but again had a nice seasoning on them. It also came with dessert… I ordered the lave cake (it was 1:30 in the afternoon) and was told they were out of lava cake already. This was a choice for dinner service as well not sure what they did for the rest of the day and had no other substitute for lack of lava cake and since I don’t like white chocolate or bread pudding I had no other choice. Very disappointing since I saw a neighboring table served cheesecake instead of bread pudding which I would have totally been happy with. Any way service was good and the food tasted good but not sure I would hurry back at this point.

    First of all, let me say that we went for KC restaurant week, so it was small portions (half sandwich) and a fixed price menu. The overall look of the restaurant was amazing, and so comfortable looking. I immediately envisioned a wedding reception taking place there! The appetizers came out and the bang bang shrimp was amazing! And then it went downhill… I had the crispy buffalo chicken, which was soggy, unfortunately, as it was listed as “crispy”, but my husband said the lobster avocado sandwich was good. Dessert is where it really crashed. My husband had the white chocolate bread pudding, which he said was more like glorified French toast, since it was crispy. It was served with ice cream on top, which I’ve never in my life seen with bread pudding, but to each their own. The chocolate lava cake was anything but… It came out frozen solid with ice cream on top, which I’ve also never seen, but it was as far from lava cake as a rock is. So, in order to find that out, I had dug a spoonful in and broke through to the middle. When I touched it with my finger, I realized that I was correct and it was frozen solid so I sent it back with the nice waiter and said it’s not lava it’s frozen. He then brought the very same one back with a spoon hole dug out of it to tell me they had fixed the problem, but, alas, only the outside had thawed and the inside a.k.a. lava was still frozen. At that point, I was done with playing this game so we paid and left. The drink menu looks amazing and I feel like it would be a great place to go after work to have a few cocktails with friends or coworkers, but other than the bang bang shrimp, I don’t think I’d grace the doors again for food. I think the most disappointing part was that no one even came over to apologize for the soggy sandwich or the frozen lava cake. Sad day.

    We knew it was New Year’s and we had never been before but wanting to take a chance, we went. Food was outstanding. Service was eager but delivery was awful. My husband never got his entrée, our water glasses were never refilled, we were never asked if we wanted another drink from the bar, so disappointed as the ambience and food we did receive was outstanding. Will definitely try again but truly hope they have it together as their chef is excellent.

    The chicken Alfredo was wonderful however, I left a bit hungry. Wish it would have came with a salad or bread for the price. The fish and chips were wonderful and a better value.
