Angel oak was the perfect view and ambiance for our 30th wedding anniversary dinner. The staff was amazing and very personable. Food melted in our mouths. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special night and spectacular view.

Valentines Dinner, February 13, 7pm dinner reservations. Weather forecasts was windy, and was seated outdoor without any heaters available. Asked to move seats but unavailable due availability I guess. We tried ordering and started with the bread, but got cold within a minute. The table napkins were being swept by strong winds, you could not eat at all. They provided blankets but not enough or not working at all. Staff who handled our table was very apologetic and we decided to take out our order. The main course was really good, enjoyed it in the comfort of our room. Not the restaurant fault but the strong winds ruined our nice lovely Valentines Dinner.

What can I say? It’s the Ritz. I expect a standard. First, we called for a special table and to confirm reservation for a special occasion. No call back. Then, waited for 10 min to be seated. Topper, it was as if the restaurant had never dealt with the wind before and everyone dining was freezing. They handed out blankets but did little to avoid the problem to begin with. Dinner was average. Jen, our server, was amazing. Oh and all restaurant managers, please pay attention to diners that enjoy watching their phone without headphones. The rest of us would appreciate you policing your own patrons.

Had the opportunity to have the final meal they served before closing due to a COVID lockdown. The chef came out and gave our table personal attention and some unique offerings. It was the best meal of the trip. The Bone Marrow appetizer was the highlight!

We split the wedge salad, I had the 10 oz filet and my husband had the 18 oz in bone ribeye. The steaks were a bit salty but still cooked the way we liked them. We shared mashed potatoes which were whipped to perfection and light. My husband added the bernaise sauce which probably won’t do again as it was not anything special. The Bordeaux blend wine was bold and smooth. The “banana split” dessert was nothing like what we expected but made the whole entire meal. If you eat at Angel Oak you MUST order this dessert. I would go back just for that.

Given the latest COVID-19 constraints the setting and table arrangement was well done. My one problem was that the sun shone directly in my face (11:00 a.m.) for the entire time we were there. The quality of the food was mixed I felt. The appetizer of tuna/salmon was outstanding--I'd love the recipe. My main course of goat cheese pasta was o.k. but a little bland (we asked for salt which improved the taste considerably). The side dishes were mixed: stuffing--very good, green bean casserole--yuck, marshmallow side (?)--didn't even try. My dessert, a hazelnut/chocolate bar with ice cream on the side was beyond delicious.

Our main problem with the meal was the service, which was horrible. The waiter didn't offer any beverages with the exception of water. My husband had to order a beer (and then he didn't bring it) and the waiter didn't bother to ask me if I wanted anything other than water. Then, when dessert was served, once again, no coffee/tea etc. was offered. The additional beverages were ultimately brought by different waiters.

Our waiter basically took our order and then disappeared for the remainder of the meal.

For such an expensive meal, we expected better service.

Server brought apps, soups, main and sides at the same time. Most of the food was cold by the time I got to eat it. Cold soup, soggy salad. Marrow dish was excellent. Inexcusable lack of planning to course dishes for that cost. Won’t be going back. Second mediocre experience.

My husband and I made reservation as a newlywed couple and couldn’t have asked for a better first meal as husband and wife. The service was impeccable! The best way to describe the food was that it was perfect. We were lucky enough to taste the hamachi, the seared scallops, the wagyu beef, lobster Mac, assorted mushrooms, and cappuccino chocolate cake. Definitely recommend all!

We didn’t get to finish our meal: we mentioned several times a severe nut allergy. Guess what was put on the bone marrow? Pistachios! Bring your epi pen if you have an allergy.... we had to rush back to the room. Huge disappointment!!!

The food was most certainly not Ritz quality. Our 85$ bone in rib eye was an embarrassment. $14 for a tiny, tiny baked potato. On the plus side the service was impeccable as was the ambiance and sunset view.

It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we were hoping that with this information that the restaurant had for weeks a special table could’ve been reserved or a special dessert. Very disappointing and not ritz Carlton style.

This is a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location. The food was good, but not the most amazing steakhouse fare I have had. We ordered a spicy tuna on crispy rice appetizer and it had no spice whatsoever, the rice was so thick and all I could taste was rice. The striploin which I was told was their signature steak was ok, not as special or magical as I hoped. However, the brussel sprouts and the lobster macaroni and cheese were fantastic and their rolls actually were so delicious. The service was good and actually a lot faster than many restaurants I have dined in since COVID restrictions have been put in place. I would definitely go back, but I would try a different steak and I would skip the appetizer all together.

The Sommelier complemented our dinner perfectly by recommending a beautiful bottle of red wine pairing perfectly with our choice of Wagu and the seasonal vegetables of the night. The service was terrible. Disorganized, very slow service. Food was meh. Our server had the personality of a wooden statue. She was the worst. Had to ask constantly for water refills, drinks, salt & pepper, etc.
The entire resort was nothing close to Ritz Carlton standards.
Will not return.
