Cool tiered dining room ascending to the sushi bar. Tables crammed together pretty tight...makes for an intimate dining experience. Sushi tasted great but kinda rough presentation. Great selection of imported (and expensive) Japanese beer. Meal for two with a couple brews cost $100+
Great value for the money
The lobster miso soup had no edible lobster and yet it cost $10. Spicy tuna roll was good. Service was mediocre.
We had a fantastic experience at Nare Sushi, delicate, fresh fish, prepared elegantly and crisp service. We had two of the chef’s choice options and they were both delightful. One of our best meals in New York.
High quality food at reasonable prices.
Amazing sushi! Service was fantastic as well. I will definitely be going back.
We had a pre-fixe course. All the dishes came at the same time... we felt like we were too slow to eat...
I brought my team out for lunch and had a very bad experience. The service was horrendous. The waiter was either new or inexperienced. I order some appetizers and one of them came after the meal. All of our meal was delivery in pieces and not together. One person did not get his meal until everyone was finish. I had to ask 2 times why the meal hadn’t arrived. The waiter never apology and I decided to tell my dining experience to the manager and he was terrible. He was giving me excusing that they had to do deliveries and lunch time is very busy. I had dine at this place many times and never had such bad experiences. Instead of being apologetic, he has the nerve to say you want some off the bill. I had to tell him at least an apology would be nice. He needs some training in customer service. I would not come back to dine here for sure if this how you treat a good customer.
had another business lunch at Nare and it was as good as always. The staff is wonderful. 5 stars!
Great place to eat for lunch
Good reasonably priced sushi.
Troy and all the omakase crew are the best!
Food and service was great, the only thing I'd change was the temp. we were freezing.
Quiet, friendly place. They welcomed our kids. Excellent sushi and miso soup.
The Omikase at Nare is as good as it gets. You don't have to spend giant bucks at Nakazawa, Masa, Yasuda, Zo, Uchu, etc. Nare is just as good or better. Sushi Chef Wind is a true master at creating amazing pieces of nigiri with various flavors and textures. The service is excellent as well. Great experience.
Food was good, not the best sushi we’ve ever had, but solid. Relative value was a little misaligned. Pricing similar to nobu, but quality a bit less. Friendly service and nice space.
Never disappoints..freshest fish at a great price point
Do not go for the lunch Omikase. Go only for the Dinner Omikase and only if Sushi Chef Wind is making the sushi. He is a true master sushi chef!!!
After 4 great Omikase experiences, today's meal was a giant disappointment. I will probably give Nare one more chance, but today's lunch was quite mediocre.
If you cannot make sushi rice properly, you cannot serve sushi. The rice was tough and terrible.
One of the waitresses dropped three pieces sushi from another order on the floor and didn't
bother to replace it for the customer. The table next to us had all of their order mixed up
and the kitchen had closed so they were comped a dessert. Don't wait your money. There
are better sushi restaurants in the neighborhood.
I love Inaniwa udon(very thin noodle) and unagi don.
I’m always satisfied. ♥️
Was nice sushi. Say at bar and watched TV by preference so eschewed ambience. No cheap by any means. Would have been happier if manager had not tried to convince me that a red wine which was oxidized was"just fine". Dishonesty never enhances the dining experience
We tried the Omakase, and it was very good. The only issue I have is that they list on Open Table that they have a reduced parking rate at a certain parking lot, but when I parked there the attendant didn't know anything about it, and when I asked at the restaurant they told me the arrangement had expired.
You don't have to spend $200-$400 at Nakazawa, Zo, Seki, Uchu, Shuko or Masa. This place is just as good and the Omikase is $80!!!
Come early enough on Sunday evenings, or the delicious daily specials will be all gone!
Meeting with children
I had the day's special of umi and Wagyu beef on rice. It was very good and reasonably price. This is a good venue for a quick and tasty lunch.
Too cold to be true
Food took a while and the order was messed up. Staff were courteous, but could be a bit more attentive
I ordered a roll of Uni and they charged 3 times of regular Uni price without notice. There are no indication of charging 3 times for the roll on menu. The server didnt advise about pricing of the Uni roll. The food wasnt that good either the service. I would never come back here.
All food I ordered were successful.
Especially inaniwa udon, unagi don and Japanese icecream(green tea&black sesame)was great.
It was perfect dinner.
Highly recommend the omakase meal at the sushi counter. Amazing!
The food was good, fresh and professionally done. Service was great. What I like least about the place is the ambiance, it is set in a lobby of a dated mixed purpose (business and residential) building. I would not recommend this place for the view and location. I would recommend for food.
Had another business lunch at this hidden gem. One of the best places to have a conversation on the UES.
Solid choice for Eastside Sushi. had a nice meal and was reasonably priced. Would return.
v good v good
Amazing sushi! Attractive restaurant and guests. Will definitely return
I had and enjoyable lunch. I chose the sashimi and can recommend it.
Good neighborhood place, perfect for a casual lunch or dinner.
