   The food just wasn't good. Little flavor and the lasagna was heavy and dry. Couldn't eat it.

   Terrific overall but my friend’s lasagna order was a bit dry. Most unusual for Anna’s. My chicken exquisito (so?) was great as usual.

   Mother Anna’s is a wonderful restaurant to visit in the North End- they serve phenomenal pastas and food at a reasonable price tag. The staff were incredibly patient in holding our table, and provided phenomenal service. The ambience is cozy and feels like it’s an Italian mom and pop shop in the absolute best way. They have an outdoor seating area/patio that features a lovely view of Boston. Highly recommend. It’s my secret go-to.

   We walked into the restaurant and who we assumed was the owner was walking around in sweatpants on his phone going back and forth to the kitchen from the bar and sitting at the bar talking to staff. Very taken back how unprofessional considering we were dining in the North End. We were recommended here as a “no frills” place but they had decent food. Definitely no frills and food was mediocre at that. At no fault of the restaurant, as it can happen, there were a ton of fruit flies. 3 of which landed in our food or drink. Although it can happen, it did turn us off. We did not complain (but very obvious we had to keep swishing them away. We ordered the clams casino and it came out smothered in an oily marinara sauce. We weren’t sure the waitress gave us the correct appetizer. Too each is own on salads but we were very taken back when our side salads came with cold canned green beans on top. As for our meals. The lobster raviol was good and the special fra diavlo was good. We also had the eggplant and chicken parm that was covered in the oily red sauce and no cheese (parm). The eggplant was think and rubbery. The last dish was the chicken margarita which was ok. Would have been better if wasn’t so drenched in oil. Unfortunately we will not go back with how many choices there are in the area. We do know not to take anything out on the waitress and she did her job great. We still topped 20% however if blown away we would have tipped more considering the experience.

   We had our reservation for 7 pm. While we waited we were constantly shuffled around the restaurant in everyone’s way as if we were inconveniencing them, and we’re not seated until 7:30. Once we were seated we were able to order our meals but the waiter was very abrupt and did not exactly make up for the lack of hospitality. Most of our guests did enjoy their meals but there were a few people who were less excited about what they got and at that point we had waited so long it just wasn’t worth it.

    1 and done. Definitely a haven for college students. The basement seating facing a wall offered no ambiance in addition to the poor initial service.

    We had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. The staff were very apologetic and provided our party of six a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. Our server was pleasant and very attentive. The calamari app was very good but the main courses we had were below average (fusilli ariani, gnocchi Juliana, and veal parmigiana). Lastly, the restrooms needed a good cleaning.

    Good and service excellent but a very noisy group on table next to us so struggled with the conversation but didn’t let it spoil our evening Highly recommend this restaurant for location, service and definitely the food

    hostess ruined my experience, had a reservation at 7, was not seated till 7:30. When I’d go to ask how much longer she said she could not give me an estimate of time. Was not even apologetic and did not know what she was doing.

    If you are looking for great authentic Italian food, Mother Anna's is the place. Conveniently located in Boston's North End. This is primarily my wife's and I go to when visiting Boston. Every time we have dined here either by ourselves or with our grandchildren we have always felt welcomed. Food and service have been consistent over all the years we have visited and their wine selection is solid. While we have been to other Italian restaurant s in the North End we always seem to gravitate back to Mother Anna's. My only decision is what and I m going to select.

    Our part of 8 family members had a pre-Christmas get together. The restaurant was very busy, even at 5:30, but service was efficient and the food was great. Mother Anna’s serve familiar Italian food favorites. The portions are generous and the quality is consistent . Everyone enjoyed their meal. mother Anna’s is one of our favorites when we are dining in Boston.

    The service and food were good however they have a fruit fly infestation. Not just a couple at our table but there were dozens swarming our table and food. It was very unpleasant. The cleanliness left something to be desired. The bathrooms need some cleaning and up keep. Unfortunately I will not return.

    Just a seasonal trip to the North End with extended family .! Everything was delicious and hot and fast service was terrific !! Only one thing I would say is would be nice to decorate more festive !
