Our waiter was not very attentive. We had to ask other helpers for extra drinks. No offer of additional breads My wife’s potato came to the table cold. Her steak was perfect. I had the halibut and was delicious.
Did not make me want to come back.

Tonight’s dinner was perfect. The food and service was exceptional. I recommend the shrimp Durango and the lamb chops.

We had a wonderful lunch at j Gilbert’s. They were so accommodating to our two small children and our server was fabulous!

Food was delicious had to send baked potato and spinach back cold but was returned hot, salmon outstanding

The food we had was mediocre for the prices. They also brought out the wrong kids meal late. They went back and then brought the kids meal out as we were getting ready to leave. We didn't want it at that point. I really like JGs, I think we just caught them on an off day.

We sat at the table for 20 mins without anyone greeting us. I had to go ask the host if someone come help us. First and second courses were both luke warm-cold, but the plates were hot. Food tasted pretty good but it was just wasn’t hot, it seemed like it had been in the window for awhile. Service was pretty slow as well. I’d been wanting to try this local favorite for a while and finally decided to try it for my mom’s bday. Slow service and cold food can be attributed to our server’s lack of engagement. We spent a few hundred dollars and it definitely wasn’t worth it. I probably wouldn’t dine here again.

The server and his assistant/trainee were enthusiastic, kind, and attentive. We enjoyed the food and loved the experience, especially as it was our 30th wedding anniversary!

Service was slow and mediocre. Table next to us waited around 15 minutes before being acknowledged.

Enjoyed a good dinner with friends. Staff was friendly and efficient. Food was very good. COVID precautions were evident and appreciated. The restaurant was not crowded so the noise level was lower than past experiences. Will definitely go again!

Food is always good and of good value here. It is a neighborhood gem. The wait staff could be more attentive to refilling drinks and other points of attention.

I always wanted to visit J. Gilbert's and it didn't disappoint. The steak was perfectly prepared and the asparagus was awesome.

Each course was excellent. The wine list was a bit boring, the "Interesting Wines" list didn't have the interesting wines. But that's the only complaint and I'd call it nit-picking. Staff was generous with their time and attention. New favorite place.

Always the most amazing food and service! All entrees are exceptional. Chiara is such a fabulous server who cares so much about every customer's experience. We almost always get steak along with several sides and it's so good!

As has been the case for the many years we have frequented J Gilbert's our meal was excellent. Moreover, Joan, the staffer who serviced our table, was informative, attentive, and responsive to our questions and requests.

Excellent late lunch. The filet was perfect and so tender.

Had a reservation but still had to wait 25 mins to get seated. Overall, friendly staff and good food. I will dine here again!

As always the food was amazing, but this time the service was above and beyond. Due to COVID we had not seen my father in 4 months, but he recently got vaccinated and was able to meet us for dinner. Unfortunately, upon arrival he locked his keys in his car. Not only did the hostess find a locksmith, she called them, negotiated the price, met him in the parking lot and brought my dad his keys right to our table so he never even had to get up. She tool ALL the stress out of a bad situation and let us enjoy our time together - THANK YOU!

This could have easily been a 5 star rating with the food service and ambiance, however as a first time guest of this restaurant I didn’t know I would see people coming in with shorts, t-shirts, ball caps, mid section showing, and guests talking loud on cell phones. It was more of a Steakhouse restaurant chain experience for that reason. I will come again, now that my expectations have been lowered.

Perfect evening with a business partner. The lamb was to die for and it paired perfectly with the Catena Alta Cabernet!

Unfortunately, I forgot the servers name but she was super sweet. Every time I have eaten at J. Gilberts the service has been great! food too!

We're frequent diners at J. Gilbert's but on a recent lunch visit found the steak/frites far below par - a large, thick cut of meat, OK, but shot through with sinew so tough that the hefty steak knife couldn't cut through it, and fries that had turned rubbery. I didn't complain (after all this is a place we know) but I thought the waiter might notice I had left almost half of it and ask if anything was wrong. No such luck.
The wagyu burger, though, was outstanding, as were the sweet potato fries, so we'll keep coming back. We think their "regular" burger, and the wagyu, are among the best in town.

Very nice lunch for me and my family. The food was excellent and service was exceptional.

I've eaten here several times over the years and it's almost always been good to very good. They used to have better control over how well the steaks are done. Last few visits my "medium rare" has been close to "well done" and this time, fortunately, it was a bit on the rare side but still fine.

Wonderful food & great service! Rockfish special on Sat night was amazing w/ sausage and hint of Cajun flavors!

Saturday, I celebrated my birthday at J. Gilberts. The food, service, and ambience were great. I'm looking forward to going back.

The appetizer we had (pretzel onion rings) were just okay. Didn’t really get the pretzel taste I was looking for. My entree the seafood mixed grill was excellent. The seafood was perfectly grilled and seasoned. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were tasty as well. Creme brûlée for dessert was one of the best creme brûlée’s I had in quite some time. Waiter was attentive which I appreciated. Can’t wait to go back and enjoy that great food again.
