   We had a reservation and at the promised time our party of 4 was seated outside. The waitress, Sydney was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Our drinks arrived quickly and the food followed in short time. The food was outstanding! We will always plans to eat here on our future visits to the Desert Botanical Garden. A wonderful experience shared with friends.

   Delightful place to lunch as a break from viewing the extensive and extraordinary cacti. The crab cakes were delicious—as was everything else.

   The person checking us was quite rude - we had a reservation and it was for inside and we requested the patio and he said we have to wait 3 more hours and throughout our meal there were many empty tables. The food was so so - the breakfast burrito was bland The service and and ambiance was excellent

   Prickly pear margarita is delish! Root vegetable salad with warm chicken is also delicious:) our server Mary was very sweet and thoughtful. We really enjoyed the atmosphere as well.

    Needed to get a quick bite before a flight. Had a reservation but it would have been to late. Hostess was great and squeezed us in on the patio. Our server ( forgot name) was fantastic. We told him our situation and need for quick food and exit. He was on it! We ordered appetizer and split the burger ( huge burger get it medium well if you don’t like it pretty red) glass of wine and a coke. Food came out super fast and waiter left bill on table for quick exit. Great meal in a wonderful environment. Wish we had more time to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather and plants. Made it to the airport on time and will definitely visit this restaurant again.

    The entire experience was outstanding. We did not feel rushed. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I would definitely take guests there again because it is a lovely experience in outdoor fine dining. The menu is nicely varied for all tastes.

    I enjoyed a lovely lunch on the patio with a friend. I had the shaved root salad for my appetizer, all of the ingredients were so fresh and delicious! For my entree I enjoyed the roasted corn tamale and it was by far the best tamale I have ever eaten here in AZ! I ordered the Mojave Mojito and it was crisp and refreshing. Our waiter was Liam and he was fantastic.

    Really appreciated so many GF options--wow, even donuts for dessert! They happened to be the best part of the meal. The description of the menu items were better than the food itself sadly. A patio table would have helped compensate for the food quality but as it was a rainy eve (so unusual) we opted for indoors (very mediocre in style and ambience.

    Marginally decent place. Doesn’t live up to the hype or the pretense of the staff. Our server Fred was okay but it felt like he was talking to us like 6 year olds. We didn’t care for his style but he was efficient and nice enough. Gave decent recommendations and explained the menu well. The older gray haired guy that seated us was a total jerk. Was short with us, surly even. Gave us a bad table Would not let us sit outdoors because he “had reservations” coming. We were there 90 minutes and more than 80% of the outdoor tables remained unoccupied. Pulled a small man power trip on us instead of satisfying his customers. We won’t be back.

    Wonderful, interesting food in a gorgeous setting: outdoors at the Desert Botanical Garden. Wide variety for such a small, local-sourced menu (it changes with the season), so vegans to meat-lovers are covered. Great place to sit and talk while enjoying nature.

    The waiter was great. Food was good. I had asked for an outdoor table and the hostess stated it was a 2 hour wait even though there were about 6 empty tables. She was rude and dismissive.

    This was the 2nd time at Gertrude's in the month! I invited my guest because the food is creative, delicious, worth coming for. Walking in the gardens afterward is simply a way to perfect time together. Thank you!

    Dinner before Marmelade Skies concert at desert botanical garden. Husband and I shared small Cesar salad, Bison short ribs, blueberry lemonaide, and beggar’s purse dessert. Shorts ribs were bland and not hot enough. ($51) salad was very good, lemon aid a touch too sweet, dessert was good ($19)dessert was baked Brie in phyllo on fig jam, sliced almonds and a few fresh black figs. Service was very good. All in all a decent experience.

    Gertrude’s is the best place to have an exceptional meal in beautiful surroundings. We sat on the patio, and the weather was perfect. Request their patio in advance. We loved their wine menu which features many Arizona vineyards. Our starter was the baked brie with chorizo. It was flavorful and a tad spicy. We didn’t leave one crumb. My hubby ordered the burger, cooked to perfection, and I had the scallops and shrimp which never disappoints. The wait staff is personable, professional and never hurries us allowing time to linger over drinks and that outstanding appetizer. We’ll be back!

    This was our first lunch at Gertrude's and we were very pleased by everything. Bryce was our server and he took good care of us and made helpful suggestions when we needed input. The food was first rate. The berry and basil lemonade was excellent. We will do our best to return. Note: reservations are a must, particularly on busy days.

    Server was attentive and kind. The food was overpriced for what we received. I got the seafood enchiladas and did not taste and seafood or see any obvious pieces of seafood. Husband got the stir fry noodles which were too spicy more than an average 5 star Thai dish. Sons got pasta which portions where large but nothing special. Margaritas were the highlight of the meal.

    Our waitress, Mary was so sweet and especially to my elderly guest. We all felt so special. She was attentive, pleasant and very helpful for sorting through a delicious menu. I appreciated that I ordered a soup and large specialty salad, Gertrude's/Mary brought a square plate/bowl for us for my elderly guest so we could share. it was great, because then we had room to share deserts. I had 2 guests with me.
