The Crown and Garter is a 17th century coaching inn, situated in Inkpen, near Hungerford, in the heart of the North Wessex Downs. Having stood its ground since 1640, it is an integral part of Inkpen and the other surrounding villages. Although we refurbished our bar and restaurant in 2014, the Crown and Garter hasn’t lost it’s old pub charm! It is the perfect stop for dog walkers - for which we provide dog bowls, cyclists who make use of the bike rack, or just those seeking an idyllic setting in which to enjoy a drink, a meal or both. Excellent Arkells beer, good varied menu and good size portion. Staff were very friendly and attentive. For lunch it was very enjoyable, will visit again.

We went for a Sunday roast and it was excellent. Food was hot, nicely cooked with good flavour. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
