Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen is rooted in Jamaican food, culture, and the people behind it. Built with deep respect for the island’s culinary traditions, it presents classic Caribbean cooking with a confident, contemporary point of view.Founded by Janet Zuccarini and Angela Lawrence, Chubby’s grew out of a long friendship and a shared commitment to honoring Jamaica’s cuisine. Angela led the creative vision, drawing on her Jamaican heritage to shape the space, the tone, and the guest experience.Led by a Jamaican-born management and culinary team, including General Manager Shannon Dempster and Chef de Cuisine Dadrian Coke, the restaurant reflects lived experience, not interpretation.Set inside a reimagined circa-1890 row house, Chubby’s spans two floors, two bars, and outdoor patios. Old and new sit comfortably together, creating a lively, generous place built around strong flavors, thoughtful design, and genuine hospitality.
