The outdoor space is fantastic. The wait staff was superb, especially Todd.

A little pricey for what it was. $32 for a salad and a Diet Coke is a bit much considering the quality of the food. Nice ambiance, would definitely be great for drinks. Maybe not so much a meal.

Perfect quarantine outdoors set up! So smart!! The beverages were delicious but the tomato soup was obviously canned soup they just added cream and olive oil to— disappointment!

We left shortly after being seated. Evening Star took over an outdoor space next door and all seating is outdoors. They did not create a reasonable space comparable to their competitors. They have one large dome and several enclosed "picnic-like" seating that barely conceals the elements. Each table does have a strong heater, however it was not enough. Within minutes we were wet and uncomfortable and after ten minutes of waiting, no one came to great us after the host sat us. It just seems like not a lot of thought was put into creating a reasonable outdoor experience. We really want to support local during this difficult time, however you need to up your game and put a little more effort into the ambiance and ensure basic comforts are met like many of the local competitors.

It was a delightful brunch, with a very interesting twist for the ordering process (you do it everything non the phone including payment)

We sat outdoor, ordered from the QR code and got our food and drinks quickly and seamlessly. The smoked salmon Benedict was fresh and flavorful. And the chicken and waffles were perfect. The chicken was really moist and well flavored and not too oily. I do wish there were more options for food on the brunch menu but it was good and we will be back again. Great Covid outdoor spot - the heaters made a huge difference!

Great neighborhood place for an outdoor, pandemic dining experience in the winter. Igloos are adorable and heated too. Lower your expectations however when it comes to the menu and service. All orders are made and paid for online. Service only comes when food or beverages are brought. Plates for apps have to be requested. No one checks on you to see if food is good or bad. If you need salt, pepper, ranch dressing - anything “extra” — I’d suggest bringing your own. Meanwhile, each time you order you’re asked to tip at 20%. Not sure why - given service is so very very limited even for a pandemic. Bill for 4 approx. $150 !!! and I felt like I was on a picnic.

Great New Year's dinner in the outside tent. The pre fixed menu was a great idea and value. The wine pairing was excellent. We really enjoyed our evening - and felt very safe with all the COVID precautions.

Patio seating with heat lamps, contact-less serving and friendly staff. The tomato soup was amazing (among all the other things we are,) and it was a delightful meal.

Fabulous dinner and service. We shared the octopus appetizer- surprisingly different and delicious. I had the trout special and my husband the beef short ribs. Both were fabulous. Our waiter was great- timed the meal just the way we wanted it.

after previously enjoying brunch here, I came back to celebrate a friends 40th birthday. the food is adventurous and tasty and I cant wait to try more snacks in the lounge!

We used to frequent Evening Star, but for a variety of reasons, hadn't been in a while. Unfortunately, this visit did not make us want to return. The service was friendly, but very slow. While the appetizers and salads were delicious, the entrees were a disaster. Two dishes had to be returned because they were so badly burned. (and worse, they had flipped the burned side over so we couldn't see it initially). It was so charred that it was difficult to cut. A third entree was cold. Very disappointing for an old neighborhood favorite.

Inviting spot. Excellent food and beverage menu. We stopped by following a mid-evening DCA arrival. The pork schnitzel was superb, the charred little gem salad even better! There were many other tempting choices. Wine selection by the glass was varied and excellent. My only complaint concerns the noise level; I like a happening place but the noise here was way over the top. I’d choose a repeat visit any evening other than a late Friday or Saturday evening.

We are regulars here. We brought friends to try the restaurant for the first time, and we were very disappointed. The bread never came despite the waitress saying it was. When we asked the hostess as she walked by about the bread, she stated that no longer do that. Not 3 minutes later did she walk by with a bread plead for another table. The food was heavier than usual. The beans with the octopus were not fully cooked. Overall it was disappointing.

I was disappointed with my meal. The beet salad was overwhelmed with greens and only two or three thinly sliced beets..hard to find among the pile of greens!. The beef/pasta dinner was very disappointing..fairly tasteless. I was hoping to see duck that I once had on the menu. And, the dessert selection was pitiful...sponge cake or gelato. The service, on the other hand, was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and accommodating.

Everything was absolutely delicious!! The restaurant itself was so unique, with much to love! Perfect spot for a date night, or a casual dinner night! Couldn’t have picked a better spot.
