Our restaurant and wine bar has been serving authentic Italian cuisine in the City of Fairfax for over twenty years. It all starts with our unique brick oven, one of the first wood-fired ovens in NOVA, and our fresh pastas made in-house every day. The scents of garlic, tomatoes, and herbs follow you through the restaurant as you see the hand-painted murals covering our walls. These personal touches provide a cozy setting that takes you away to Italy and is perfect for any occasion. Our menu has a range of dishes, from traditional Italian offerings to unique personal selections. We are dedicated to using fresh ingredients from our own garden and sourced from other local farms. Dolce Vita always strives to be on the forefront of being creative and offering excellent food and service. At first we were being sat at a hidden corner. After I asked the hostess for a better table we were sat in the open dining room where was better. But no one served us for 15 minutes. Apparently no wait staff was assigned to the 3 tables we were at. After a long wait which was very frustrating finally the manager noticed and assigned a staff to our table. Food was good. If you want a pasta to go with the chicken masala it’ll be another $6 add on. Which I found it’s a little bit overpriced. My dish chicken Marsala only comes with 3 small stalks of broccolini. No bread was offered either. I might go back but probably will seat by the bar area.

Dolce Vita provides a consistently great experience with really good food, outstanding old-fashions and other drinks, all at good prices! They are very kid friendly and also a great place for meeting friends. Tip, the bar area is a bit quieter if there is a lot of noise or families in the main area. Not a bad thing, just a factor in how you want your dining experience to go.

I often forget about this place, but every time I go, I think, why don’t I come here more often?? My favorite dining room is the wine room. It’s dark, cozy and inviting. The servers are friendly and efficient. The food is very good. Highlights this time were the risotto balls, mixed green salad, and shrimp risotto.

Dolce Vita is one our favorite spots in Fairfax.... we like to bring friends here too who then fall in love with it! This time was no different! Service is amazing! The food incredible! The attention to my food allergies unmeasurable! Thank you Dolce Staff for always making our visit memorable!

Dolce Vita is not nearly as good as it used to be. The food has gone down in quality; the restaurant needs a facelift (nicer tables & chairs, new menus that are not dog-eared; candles on the tables; flowers on all tables not just a few); parking is tough when valet not available (spaces are too narrow). Our waiter was trying but needs some training (should ask the woman for her order before the man's and don't take items off the table until both are done eating). Food used to be outstanding and waiters were excellent; not any more. It used to be one of our favorite local spots to enjoy a meal. Have eaten there twice recently but won't be going back any time soon.

Unfortunately the service was not as expected. We ordered a bottle of wine, an appetizer and dinner. While we were enjoying the wine with the appetizer, our meal was brought to the table. The server just stood there looking at us, like, well, here is your dinner! I looked at the server and said we were not ready for our meal as we were enjoying the appetizer. Our meals were placed under heat lamps for 15 min --- they were hot but my scallops were dry.
