Only a stones throw from Amsterdam’s famous Dam square right behind the iconic ‘Nieuwe kerk’ from the early 15th century you’ll find yourself in one of the oldest sections of our beautiful city. A fantastic getaway from the busy shopping district is this picturesque labyrinth of little streets and alleyways. The restaurants and ‘brown’cafes in the area are well known and very popular among Amsterdam locals.Gravenstraat owes its name to the Counts of Henegouwen who used to reside here in the local inn around 1300.
