We went on the first weekend of the World’s Cup. Considering the restaurant was packed with the Tartan Army. The food was delicious and the service was good. It was loud, but we went in knowing it was going to be. So one can’t mark down the place for that. This was our first time there and we will definitely be back.

We were a mixed group of young adults and older folk, wanting to celebrate a birthday within walking distance of the Porter Sq shopping center. We happened on McCarthy‘s. It was a Thursday night and when the live music started, we realized we wouldn’t be able to talk to each other comfortably. But the staff was great and seated us in the bar, where we were able to have cocktails and dinner. I had the Buddha ball from the vegan menu and despite not being vegan it was absolutely delicious and I didn’t miss a thing. My husband had the shepherds pie, which was a fluffy mound of brown potatoes and a delicious stew. We were all very happy with our meals. One of the delightful things is that there are many vegetable forward options, which seem to be disappearing on so many menus. Thank you, McCarthy’s and we will be back!

Had a great birthday lunch because of our wonderful server, excellent fish & chips and overall ambiance with the lively Scottish group in town and enjoying the Dubliner!

Stopped by for a quick lunch after a day of shopping. Great service and food, all at a great price IMO.

Excellent service and friendly. Food was typical bar food but very good dipping sauces. Fun overall atmosphere.
