Matilda's is an all-day cafe in a restored 1914 bungalow in Phoenix's Roosevelt Historic District. By day it's coffee, breakfast and counter-service lunch. Wednesday through Saturday nights the house turns into a neighborhood dinner spot... table service, a seasonal menu built around house-made pasta from Sonoran Pasta, slow-braised pork, cafe chicken, bistro steak, and a full bar of cocktails, wine and beer. Executive chef Matthew Celaya makes nearly everything in house, from the Calabrian chili spread to the cured bacon. Dine in the North Room, the South Room's window seats, the lounge, the bar, or on the front porch and back patio (dogs welcome outside). Free street parking, ADA ramp on the north side, kids' options and high chairs available. Cashless, all major cards accepted. Reservations are for dinner; daytime is first come, first served.

    Great place to eat, great service! we had everything from breakfast burritos to omelettes to cinnamon pancakes. Everything was awesome.

    The wait staff were friendly and helpful and answered all questions from this first-t patron. Food was really good and quickly delivered after ordering thru their web site, which was a new experience for me. It was fun to play a game while you done, too.

    We had an outstanding experience tonight. The food, the service, the drinks were all amazing. I highly recommend their current autumn menu. Will definitely be back. Thank you to Devon, the head chef, and the team for making tonight special.

    the food is always great, and the service is very on point! It's not a large menu but anything you order is delicious! Chips and salsa or some type of appetizer at seating would be nice :) just a suggestion. I guess that is what you expect from a Mexican restaurant.
