View of the GCS main hall was thrilling. Service was exceptional and attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious and out of the ordinary. Had a lovely time with my friends. Would like to return sometime for dinner.
The place looked insane online in pictures etc. I loved the idea of eating in such a historical and active movingly place. It was a dining experience that I was excited about. We arrived and seated immediately in a area of our choosing. The waiter was a bit rude and pushy for us to get our order in. The menu was EXTREMELY LIMITED they didn’t have all the amazing things we hope they had. Pretty much anything we ordered we were told they didn’t have. We wanted buratta as the appetizer and they said that they didn’t have it but they could do “fresh mozzarella” and tomatoes. They brought 2 plates of that and charged us $70 for mozzarella and tomato that was beyond hard and honestly the worst mozzarella and tomato I’ve had. So finally we got the order in and I must say, after MINIMUM of 60 minutes the food finally came out. We were overall pretty disappointed and frustrated with the food because the sauce of the pasta tasted extremely vinegary, the bolognese was extremely oily, the pesto pasta was satisfactory and the spinach ravioli was hard and partly crunchy. I know that these descriptions may sound comical but when you have a bill for $280 (with 20% included for horrible service) it’s extremely angering. Then we thought we would top of the dessert (bc how can you mess up there well known cake) well add that to the list of disasters. We got a slice of there vanilla meringue cake to split and every bite we took, we were chewing on sugar crystals. Not only is the place extremely overrated but absolutely poor quality for such a world renowned restaurant. Forget the “well known name” go anywhere but here.
Entering Grand Central from a train, I am always blown away. Dining at Cipriani-Dolci lets me continue to enjoy Grand Central in a great dining environment. The food is great, the service spectacular. We enjoy French 75 cocktails, and the bartender told us how he made his very refreshing version.
Wonderful meal and a beautiful setting. Just be sure when you make a reservation here that you know that it’s inside Grand Central Station. There’s another location across 42nd St, but it’s an event facility
Wonderful time at Cipriani Dolci as usual... best martini in Midtown.
My favorite spot on the balcony at Cipriani Dolce on New Years Eve.
The atmosphere inside Grand central can’t be beat. The noise level not got overbearing. The food and wine was delicious. A little pricey for what I’m used too, but overall a great experience I would recommend.
Amazing host and staff! Fabulous food and great ambience!
For the price the portions were very small. Ambiance and staff were great.
Fabulous, darling! Will not pass by this location without dining on the carpaccio and artichoke hearts, with a classic Bellini or two, of course. Truly a 'go-to' for all time when in the Grand Central terminal area.
Very nice time.
Very good... excelente.
Our server was too rude and unpleasant. It was quiet a shocking experience, we usually get rather more welcoming service when dining out with my 5 years old son anywhere else. Food was good but I would never go back there.
Christmas in the city
Cipriani Dolci is a one-of-a-kind treasure. The most energizing location in the Grand Central Great Room, on a balcony above the hustle and bustle. The service is always professional and family-style friendly, every single person working there. And the food, from the most exquisite vegetarian ravioli to a perfect burger, is always outstanding. It is usually a curse for good food, when a restaurant is in an amazing location - because people will go there anyway. Cipriani Dolci rejects this path, and has established a food quality and service quality completely independent of the magical location. I love it there, and no my last name is not Cipriani...
El host un poco grosero por mi llegada retrasada 10 minutos en una ciudad como NY
Friendly and efficient staff. Delicious dinner in a wonderful location
Great food. Very nice ambiance. Service was great as well
Really disappointing meal here last night. The carpaccio was smothered in a sauce so you couldn’t taste the meat. The Melon Prosciutto was drowning in prosciutto. The Proportion was totally out of balance. Why then include the melon? And the rice was undercooked!! I found it all inexcusable for a restaurant of this stature. Way overpriced for the quality.
Amazing views of the ceiling of Grand Central Station
They ran out of what I really wanted. My second option was very good. Service was good, food tasty. A bit pricey.
I asked for the Arugula salad with tomatoes (on the menu) and asked if they could put some grilled chicken on top (which I was happy to pay extra for), but they said - much to my surprise - that they "don't do that". Really!?!?!?! GUess who's never going back to Cipriani?!
Amazing food, beautiful experience. Superb
Wait staff were so attentive and pleasant. Very professional all round. Spotlessly clean. Real 5* experience for my birthday treat.
What a complete disappointment. My fish was undercooked and my husbands meal was prepared so terribly we sent it back. I’ve never made a bad review in my life. I guess this was a first
A great experience. Shout out to your hostess. Guy was great!
Can’t beat the view and atmosphere! The food was delicious but the service was a let down. Took about 20 mins before we got water and it seemed like the waiter forgot we were there. Then he and another worker got in an argument over what time needed water and how they needed to learn their section. Once our food arrived the waiter asked if I would like a glass of wine to go with it. I said that would be perfect but he never brought me the glass. Overall we would totally go there again
The service was slow, they were clearly short staffed, which of course is understandable. The food though, was absolutely fantastic and we would not hesitate to come back. Make sure to check your itemized bill, as they accidentally added 4 extra drinks on to our tab- of course this was fixed immediately. Overall, we would consider going to the main Cipriani instead of Cipriani Dolci.
Grand Central is iconic. We should support businesses there, enhance the building and increase train options. Cipriani is good but not intimate or quiet. And when it is cold, the cold air impacts those close to the doors.
Obviously a great setting in the main hall of Grand Central Station. But very expensive for small portions and service wasn’t great.
Good food, good service, beautiful Grand Central Station,
Excellent food, skilled service, entertaining location for a meal. Prices are very high but okay if you factor in the location experience.
The location is perfect with a great view of the station activities, food is excellent though pricey, service was rather slow at this peak time.
