Karen’s our chef food was amazing. I’ve eaten at many hibachis and never have I ever had food taste as good!! Johana our server gave outstanding customer service without prompts. She even offered to take our family’s photo as a keepsake. I will specifically request for these ladies anytime I make reservations at Dulles.
The food was amazing. Definitely will be back again. No one was there so we were able to stay very socially distant.
First time at Benihana but have been to many other local Japanese steakhouses and while the servers were great, we found the food to be average comparatively and the prices were SO MUCH HIGHER than competitors. I didn’t even think to check prices before I went because all the others had been comparable, but this was much more AND to add insult to injury, they charged $5pp to “upgrade” to fried rice (who goes there and doesn’t want fried rice??). I definitely won’t be back there, but will go to the many others in the area.
My favorite restaurant! Super delicious food, huge food portions, wonderful friendly staff, and great festive atmosphere! We go here at least once a week!
My wife did not like the presentation of the tuna rolls and she said the sushi rice seemed a little old. Also, they did not give here soy sauce with the sushi rolls. Other than that it was great.
The food was great but the person at the front counter was ridiculously rude. I was shocked. I probably will not return due to the staff up front. Our waitress was nice. Food was good and drinks were great. But overall they should probably retrain the the two ladies upfront to be a little bit more nicer to the guests.
It was excellent as always. Service was great! Will go back.
Love Benihana any day of the week, any occasion! The service is always superb. Manager, Mr. Ciro always greets me and remembers me personally. Takes care of my family each and every time. The present of the food is incredible--and each event is awesome.
Rufino our chef was the best ever. He entertained our kids, made them laugh and they loved the food even more. He is very talented, the way he prepared our meals and answered all our questions was very professional and inviting, he made our lunch time so worth it.
The price was high but the quality and quantity of food was horrible. I can go to Sakura Japanese steakhouse and pay for the same price and get superb quality and quantity of food. The customer service was slow. I had reservation at 7:30, didnt get seated until 8:00 pm, waitress didnt come to our table until 8:15 pm, we didnt really eat until 8:30 or so. I would not recommend this place.
Menu is very confusing and also though we have an appointment but waited almost 45 mins for the table and most importantly cooker is not that great .
Male manager was absolutely terrible. Service was slow and wasn’t brought to table incorrect. Overall unhappy and will not return to this location again
We waited a bit to get sat (even with a reservation), but once sat our experience was amazing. Our server had a great personality and was very observant to our needs. Then came the chef. He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our experience as well as our food. Will definitely return.
Review is about the service. The food was good. The service was the issue. The actual chef and our server were great and attentive! However, the hostess was rude. This is the second time we’ve come in the past 3 months, where the same women was rude! Short black bob haircut. No one was in the restaurant. Plenty of open seats but she kept insisting the seats were for reservations. I actually looked at all the open reservations prior to coming in and there were plenty. I actually made a reservation while we were waiting to be seated and we still weren’t seated on time! The host and what I believe to be the manager were just standing around talking to each other. Again, the food and actually servers were great but the additional staff and manager might want to change their attitudes!! Between the two of them, they are bringing the place down!

Food was overcooked and too salty but the presentation and staff were awesome.
It was my son’s 10th birthday and he was excited for his very first Hibachi experience - only to be disappointed that our Chef rushed through the entire dinner. It was so quick, no interaction, no fire or flames as he had hoped, nothing interactive or fun for the kids to experience. Very expensive and the food wasn’t good either. Not sure why we can’t do fried rice anymore but was told no fried rice?
Only ask for Chef Anthony. He is the best and. The only reason my girlfriend and I drive an hour from DC when there are other Benihana restaurants that are closer but lack in quality and preparation.
When we called 45 minutes ahead and said we would be late, they told us if we weren’t there 15 minutes after the reservation time we would lose our spot but when we arrived there was little to no guests there. The waitress got our order wrong and wasn’t really paying attention. The cook had great customer service and people skills he even put us on to some new sauce there. He saved the night honestly. But the price compared to the amount of food and the quality of the food is so not worth it to me. I’ll stick to Kobe’
Unfortunately, 🙄we were disappointed on this visit. What is going on with the rice?? 🤦♀️ It seems it no longer fills the rice bowl. I told the cook they were cheating us out of rice. Food was ok, we have had better. 😐 They stopped giving the food in portions as you watched the show. The chef gave us rice first, then appetizer shrimp, green stuff then it was a lil wait and next the chicken with mushrooms, shrimp, onions all right behind each other. We use to be served food and was able to eat as we enjoyed the show. This will be our last visit to this location. The short served rice is just ridiculous. (See my picture of the lil rice) 😤 When it was all over we was sitting with a full plate of food eating with no chef. It felt like we was at home looking out our window. Since we were over near the window area. Disappointed to say the least!!! 😳🤦♀️
We were given a table at the back near stocked chairs and equipment. The table and area were dirty. When we asked for a different table we were told no. I had to be very assertive and ask for a manager, leave the table area, and insist. The server and lead were resistant but the front desk matron and manager gave us a new table. After that the service, cook and meal were good.
Terrible service. Did not serve rice until after cook left the table. Cook argued about way food was cooked
We had a reservation & the ladies at the hostess desk seemed unorganized & clueless. The drinks were not presented the way the were advertised online. The biggest waste of $130 I've ever spent!!!
A great time at our favorite location, the Dulles Benihana. We took the family out to celebrate the parent's wedding anniversary and the staff at Dulles made it special. Courtesy and good camaraderie.
Not enough service operations, to much pepper on everything. I made a reservation for 7:30, didn't get a table till 8:45. Our server was on point, but someone needs to tell whoever made-up the quantity of food against price is blind.
We love Benihana and we’ve been to different locations and with no doubt chef Anthony made our night the best Benihana hibachi experience we ever had at Benihana’s.
We love Benihana. The food is always good. We don’t go so much for the show; we’ve seen it before many times, but it’s fun anyway. The birthday certificate is worth it.

Food was outstanding, and customer service was excellent considering the current pandemic situation. Having said this, I would have preferred Japanese background music. After all, ambience and presentation is a win-win strategy.
We went for my daughter’s 19th birthday. Our Server was great, attentive and extremely kind. The chef however was not very experienced nor focused on our table. She was clumsy, did things oddly, banged on the table like 50 times continuously to the point my daughter and I looked at each other with a “what the heck is she doing” expression. Just extremely Odd. She crushed eggs in her hands and we ended up having to pick the shells out of our fried rice. She was listening into the conversation that was happening at another table and giggling to the men’s jokes that were speaking in Spanish. She undercooked the food and we believe that the meat could have been old because my son and husband were both sick later that night and the next day and they both ordered the steak. The restaurant was dirty, the walls were splattered, the bathroom floors were so sticky that my shoes peeled off the floor when I stepped. Gross! We used to love this place, but it has really lost its special place in our hearts and has gone downhill. Sorry to say, we’re not going to make another reservation here.
Having reservation didn't matter because we still had to wait over a hour from our reservation time to be seated. We traveled an hour to get there so we waited to avoid a wasted trip. First timer and last timer, the food wasn't worth the trip or money.
This was the first time visiting this location as I usually go to the one in Bethesda. We arrived and were seated fairly quickly for our reservation. Service was kinda slow as it looked like they were short staffed, but we didn’t mind too much.
The food was ok. My only complaint was the chicken was dry. Like so dry I could barely eat it. I know all about consuming undercooked chicken, but the solution is not to overcook it either.
Now that indoor dining is allowed in Montgomery County, I will be going back there.
My husband, brothers-in-law, and I had a great lunch. The food was delicious, it wasn't crowded, and the staff observed CDC guidelines with respect to COVID-19. I felt very safe, and we had a nice time. The food wasn't the best it's ever been, but it was pretty darn good.
We had a fabulous time. Both our waitress and the chef were fabulous. We had a mini celebration for my son’s 12th birthday.
Manager Davana took exceptional care to the Family Birthday Celebration. Everything was perfect. The does outstanding presentations and all is enjoyed.
Celebrated a birthday this week. Good job with social distancing. We were disappointed that our cook did not speak English and entertain. The whole dining experience always include having an experience with your cook. She did a good job cooking but couldn’t understand us so it was disappointing. When I go for a hibachi grill I expect the whole experience. Next time will go to one that offers all
great date for valentines day
The experience was great however for our bill to be $100 the food was poor. The food wasn’t very flavorful.
since the virus it seems the show part of the meal and experience was completely lacking and yet the prices are still the same, not fair at all, not justified at all!
